In that book, it speaks about how capitalism can be more ethical also decrying corporate taxes, no sunset provisions to federal regulations. But this is in direct opposition to a free market economy, if only one company crosses a line to maximize profits over ethics, since exploitative behaviour is more profitable. The whole market has to follow suit since noone is there to punish them. It leads heavy reliance on ethical mindset of ceos and public themselves. An we all know how that goes, people are selfish and same for ceos. It is said best way to deal with temptation is to remove the object of temptation itself, therefore shouldn't the incentive to profit off of exploitative behaviour i.e environmental neglect, worker exploitation etc be harshly discouraged by authorities ?

I just learned about the term "conscious capitalism" and I'm so stoked.
I am a holistic mindset coach and over the last year I realized more and more that I only want to work with entrepreneurs who want to have a positive impact on this planet and I'm now in the process of rebranding and creating Instagram content specifically for that target group. Conscious capitalism sounds more intriguing than conscious entrepreneur to me. :)

Conscious capitalism will never work, as soon as one company decides to screw people over in pursuit of profit, the rest of the industry must follow or be left in the dust; that is the nature of free market competition.

Capitalism links value to profit and money. That's not real value, it's speculative. This is almost interesting, but the GOAL of capitalism IS PROFIT. There's no way around it.

So many unfounded assumptions here! It creates value, based on voluntary exchange, it gives people purpose and meaning ... always with the lifts people out of poverty. Can we go tell that to the children digging up cobalt in the DR Congo. Unbelievable.

I bet they are doing this to maximize profits, because you know stakeholders will have more money to spend.

Also, you can't have endless growth and profit in a limited world.
