I have to say that I do appreciate both sides, putting a more realistic spin on how both sides view the VP debate. I watched it, and if you were looking for who seemed completely controlled and cool under pressure that would’ve been JD Vance I do see where Tim Walz had a tough time admitting that he lied or he missed spoke. I would still take Tim walls over JD Vance by a longshot.. I do believe that JD Vance used this opportunity to make himself look much more empathetic and human. Then the popular media gives him credit for if it raises his liability that’s fine if Tim took a cut or raised his liability that’s fine too. As lifelong Republican up to the point where Donald Trump turned the party into a cult I can deal with the Tim Walz. I can deal with Kamala Harris. I have found that the more I analyze what we have seen in our political institutions since the rise of Trump, I am starting to recognize that we should have an amendment in the constitution that states you should not be allowed to run for public office unless you served in some type of job that is accountable to the American people and civil budgets like teachers like police officers fireman, or any other type of civil service or military service and the reason I say this is because very simple way to look at it and I believe the entire platform for Donald Trump and those who support him although they may not acknowledge it really boils down because it’s easier to destroy things than build things or fix things we would rather do that.
I think there was definitely a contrast in hiw Walz (sheepishly, hesitantly) admitted he misspoke versus how Vance smoothly and forcefully avoided admitting Trump lost. It made me wonder, will America prefer a smooth criminal or an admitted but accountable truth-stretcher. I prefer Walz as well. Nice comment 👍🏽
The debate was a bit of a yawn, but we learned 1. JD Vance thinks climate science is “weird science”, which in 2024 is pretty weird. 2. JD Vance wouldn’t have done what Vice President Pence did in disobeying Donald Trump’s command to refuse to certify an election. In other words, JD Vance is not qualified to be a Vice President of the United States of America.
Vance proved that he's a very adroit liar and can put up whatever facade he chooses for a given event. Which probably makes him as dangerous as Trump if he should wind up in the oval office some day.
So I think Vance's housing argument applies to relatively small cases like Springfield, where a sizable fraction of the population was increased all at once. However, that does not mean, writ large, that immigration is the core reason housing prices have gone up (it isn't) or that any other kind of fast population increase (including domestic immigration) to a small area wouldn't have the same effect. As much as I love Ross, I think it's a little disingenuous to lend credence to this kind of onion argument whose core is racism.
