the smoothness never ceases to amaze. triggers hail, modulation across the board with each step.. and its ultra rare to have any clipping or harsh cuts between any of the sounds. drums, bass, synth, stabs.. seamless transition. MI, BIA, LI, CI.. - their unlikely broad sonic range is often mentioned.. but what made me get a BIA and will sell me a Loquelic.. its engineered and designed in a way that makes the sounds work together without boxing them in. before it was either experimental gear with sweet spots surrounded by raging feedback, atonal noise, colliding waves .. awesome but often impractical, or performance focused machines with circuits made to fit. I can't think of anything that breached the wall of experimental/noise/e. neubauten and performance geared electronic sound synthesis , as clearly as NE's iteritas modules. built small enough to fit in one hand. how unlikely.
Stumbled upon this two weeks ago when I was considering if I should finally get into modular or stick with my sampler and desktop synths. This performance immediately sold me on ordering a NE Loquelic Iteritas and I've watched the video at least once a day since! That last part still gives me goosebumps, and it's way perfect without any drums.
Can the Manis Iteritas be triggered with an Arturia Keystep or Korg SQ-1? Will one of these sequencers and the Manis alone in a rack be enough to produce some percussion? Is there a list of the rest of what Baseck is using in this skiff?
The Manis could be triggered by an SQ-1 or Keystep and you could do some percussion sequencing with one of those, but the ability to get so many sounds from the Manis is from having many sequencer tracks, like the voltage block which has 8 tracks. A list of what is in the skiff is Mordax Data (oscilloscope), Manis Iteritas, Malekko Voltage Block and Varigate 8+ (sequencers), Erica Synths Pico DSP (effects).
Awesome, thanks for the response. I already have a Keystep (which gives me 1 track) if I add an SQ-1 that should give me an additional 2 tracks for a total of 3 sequencing tracks? If I wanted to build a small, expandable drum rack, could I get away with the Moog 60HP, a Tiptop power+adapter and the Manis? Could this setup get me started or would I need a line out module?
You should be able to sync a Keystep and SQ-1, it will be more work syncing multiple sequencers than using the Voltage Block. The Moog 60hp case and Tiptop power should work, just make sure you check the depth spec of the Moog case and depth of modules you want to get to be sure they will fit since the Moog case is pretty shallow.
Yes, I did some education on units that he uses and man-o-man the varigate8 is a sick module, this is new to me single voice module produce whole tune just by a few notes and crazy timbre manipulation
The Rene is a great sequencer and has some options that the Varigate and Voltage Block don't have, but it designed for sequencing a single voice. The Varigate and Voltage Block have way more outputs for sequencing multiple voices, or adding lots of modulation to a single voice.
The main modules (Manis Iteritas, Varigate 8+, Voltage Block, Pico DSP) would run $1398 and if you don't have a case you could use a make noise skiff with PSU for $250.
Awsome ! Wish I had the time for all these tiny things. And their teeneeweenee interfaces . And voltages....But my old eye balls get angry. And no one for important info in my pitiful town. Forget on line manuals . And hideous chat rooms. Sounds great though! I a using what I can in my own way. Less is more in a deserted place like Monterey California...that yPeace Christo
This is ace! A real lesson in how to rinse a single module.
WOW, I have a new respect for Baseck! I finally watched to the end, and what a show......
Yet another great set by Baseck🎶👍

the fact hes doing this with liiterally 3 modules is mmiindblowing to me. baseck is a god
also... that tiny module on the very right side... erica synths Pico DSP, correct? yeah.
Yep
Awesome job showing what's possible with a small rack. Thanks!
OK, I'm sold. Thanks!
Deep respect, with this small modular you just broke the mould.
💥🤯🔊 Fantastic!
Oh my nice!! That VB + V8 is such a nice combo in the right hands!
Powerhouse combo.
Baseck is my new modular-demo-go-to :D this guy jams the sh*t out of those machines
Baseck is cool as heck and the manis is amazing...noise engineering aint fuckin around
This guy and sleeves just doesn't get along
lol
Killer sounds!
Very cool and simplicity with elegance too! Cheer mr Baseck! Peace Christo 🎶🎶🎶🕺👽🐕🐕✌🏻🔦🛸👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻☠️
Mannnnbest fucking module of the last 10 years!
Sick !
What case is that ?
Fucking Ace. Hair on fleek 2. Always a kick to the chest 🤙🤙
Insanely good.
Excellent, what can I say.
Mind blown!
Love how the guy that runs NI is just chillin in the back behind the register at the beginning lol

Perfect Circuit Audio thank you, I appreciate it! I have a SQ-1 coming in this week to use with some Volcas while I plan out the eurorack. Cheers!
Kicking!
so, we don't really need more than 4 modules for play.
what effect module does he have at the very right end ?
He was using an Erica Synths Pico DSP for effects!
www.perfectcircuitaudio.com/erica-synths-pico-dsp.html
that was amazing!
a few questions..
was all the sound from one Mantis?
what sequencer(s) is he using?
All from manis... Looks like Voltage Block and Varigate 8 are being used... Both from malekko
There’s a Mimetic Digitalis in there (the waveform). That’s a 16-step quad CV seq.
James R that’s the Mordax Data acting as an Oscilloscope
Like this very much
what are you drinking? the sounds were pretty good, but you necking the drink was epic++. Respect.
That's a Club Mate 🤣 little tricky to find in the US but looks like PC has or had them
👏 nice one
Do you think that Rene of make noise module could produce similar adlib results?
no way
Yes, I did some education on units that he uses and man-o-man the varigate8 is a sick module, this is new to me single voice module produce whole tune just by a few notes and crazy timbre manipulation
yeah, varigate 8+ and voltage block combined ;-)

Thanks PCA ... I just ordered varigate 4+ from your store hopefully it will come soon :)
i.I. .I.. I.i. .i..
Swig that beer! Go man go! Mr B rocks. Peace Christo 👽🤖
that looks like Club Mate
what are all the modules hes using?
Manis Iteritas, Varigate 8+, Voltage Block, Pico DSP
I want that setup so bad!! How much would it set me back roughly?
The main modules (Manis Iteritas, Varigate 8+, Voltage Block, Pico DSP) would run $1398 and if you don't have a case you could use a make noise skiff with PSU for $250.
Perfect Circuit Audio thanks! Not bad at all for the extreme sound possibilities to keep my noise fix satisfied for years to come:)
what are the two sequencers, out of interest?
A Malekko Varigate 8+ and Voltage Block
When are y’all posting the whole Noise Engineering video?
It is now posted here th-cam.com/video/DPAd_yST7Oo/w-d-xo.html
Ahaha that monster kick around 5mn
Aw that last melody deserved some heavy kick drop :P. Awesome though. Can't wait for my basimilus to get some craziness out of it aswell
Lol he juiced that for all it was worth.
This is SO BADAZZ 👍

little bit. just for a second
I challenge any musician to listen to this and not want to get into modular sytnhs
ahhh i wish i could have gone ! disability is a bitch
uh-oh looks like Baseck fell offa the wagon.
you fell off the wagon
Terrifyingly, that isn't booze--it's an energy drink
@@gastonsounds Well shows what I know... Good.
