  • In an attempt to question the hierarchy of authorship in spoken word 'I'm My I' is a two-part film piece in which a life story was transcribed and re-read through a secondary person. Utterances and hesitations were also included - an act which delineates the individuality and uniqueness of what is being spoken.
When a listener hears of someone talking in the first person, do they assume the story is their own? Does the life story become attached to this secondary person as opposed the primary source? I'm my 'I', but he is my 'I' also.
In the second part the secondary person's words were re-transcripted, and the original artist re-read what was once his own life story, now delineated twice through interpretation and multiple personalisation. My 'I' was once his 'I', which in turn was my original 'I'.
