I think they make kids talent shows just to prove to my parents how disappointed they should be in me.
When I watch kids talent shows or stuff like this i feel like a failure lol
Loved your reaction to our video! We have some more parts of this, so have fun with it. 😉
Did not expect at all for The Voice (kids) to be in the comment section-
Joel as a judge on the voice Sweden: "I like it but it was a little bit pitchy"
That made me laugh and that's weird cause I usually dont soooo there ya go
Everyone: Admiring her talent
Joel: Oh god she is tiny
So you were admiring her talent before she started singing? Because Joel only remarked on her size before she started singing, and then examined her voice when she started singing.
Other people: flex on us w their cars and Rolexes
Rami: I gOT a NeW KeYBoArd
Keyboards are expensive, I got mine for 300, I’m sure Rami’s is like 3 times that expensive.
So basically, this video is just Roomie's excuse to show off his new piano.
Joel: I like the kids voice
Me: I can count every pixel in this shot
THE VOICE KIDS!GET IT RIGHT!ME THE REAL VOICE KIDS FAN IS HERE!!!LIKE GET IT RIGHT!!!
Kid singers: *singing*
Joel: But *p i a n o*
I can play piano but when I try to sing while playing I mess up so badly
I agree with Joel, don’t sing along with them while they are performing. enjoy their incredible talent and press your button! It’s not about the judges, and they are just making it weird and bad.
I mean the people judging them in the Dutch version are barely singers, one of them is a rapper, that's just the culture
@@aidanbouw5224 That's not true... Anouk, Miss Montreal and Ilse de Lange are really good. Marco Borsato isn't bad. He's just annoying.
if im not mistaken they cant actually hear them sing there. I think its only when its filmed.
“That’s d flat or C sharp”
Me, a pleb knowing nothing about music:
“I’d say she looks pretty sharp”
It's technically the same note (same key on the piano). You have a lot of overlapping notes with flats and sharps. You just write them differently depending on the key of the music.
Rebekah N, as a choir/band person I am probably the only person who appreciates that explanation. 👍
this video isn't about kid singers on the voice, it's about joel's new piano
Roomie: * doing his *Beautiful* intro while doing the piano *
Also roomie:
**CANT EVEN TALK**
Joel: Do they stage this? Why is someone crying already?
Me: That is literally the kid's mom, watching her child sing for celebrities on national television.
Lol, look at Roomie's facial expression when the opra kid hits a wrong note😂😂😂
I seriously couldn't stop watching Roomie's facial expressions... so funny!!
When I was their age, I was daring other guys to go in the girls restroom.
Nice to know that other people were legendary singers while I sat there being useless.
I can relate. Useless, as well as insignificant, irrelevant, and replaceable. I would usually worry about being too negative, but no one is going to read this or care.
Omg that was me too, except the other way around, I was daring my friends to go into the boys restroom.
Yeah still a useless bum over here
Roomie: “we’re all a little bit pitchy once in a wile”
Me: **pitchy all the time** 👀
4:03
Just imagine this:
Director/Producer: Ok so I need you to stare at that white screen and cry.
Parent: Well I dont think thats a good idea.
Directir/Producer: You are proud of your child right?
Parent: I mean yeah im proud of my kid but im not gonna cry because of that.
Director/Producer: Well people cry when they are proud.
Parent: Umm, I dont think thats exactly true.
Director/Producer: B*TCH JUST F*CKING CRY OK?!
Parent: I dont think I should.
Director/Producer: You know what we will pay you double the normal amount if you cry ok?
Parent: DEAL!!
Also, why is some of the footage blurred?
funny script but i guess in the role of proud parent you would cry too without a doubling the amount :D
the footage that is blurred is from Belgium. Maybe they copyrighted it
That one where no one turned around, she sounded too much like an actual kid. Like yeah, she's a crazy good singer for a kid, but like Roomie's said before, there's no reason to push her now and not just wait until she's older and good for an adult signer. I wouldn't play her singing on the radio or cast her in a musical or anything, like even the opera boy I felt like in the context of an opera I would be happy to listen to him, but the girl not so much.
Mmh the opera child had a piece that was not performance ready because he missed more than half the notes. You want to only miss one or two for a performance.
@scarlettrygger ideally you want zero, no matter how unrealistic that may seem.
Me when I saw the video: Joel doesn’t like child singers, who is this and where did they take him?? Bring back Joel!
that is obviously his twin, this time joel edited the video inflicting cringe on his twin brother. *ok*
The Voice Kids America: We have good singers!
The Voice Kids Philippines: that's just rookie numbers.
I don't know why philipines has so many people with freakin good voice. NO,NOT GOOD VOICE. BUT PERFECT VOICE. URGGH
Kid: "ah--"
Joel, who is in love with his new keyboard: *piano riff "so we're in G sharp rn guys"
That moment when you react to someone I know lol. I know the girl who sang "all by myself" from Celine Dion her name is Iris and she's from the Netherlands. We attended the same (elementary) school and we also were in the same ballet class a few years ago. I remember her casually singing very good in the changing rooms. Besides singing she's also talented in various dance styles and is pretty good at musical style acting.
That’s really crazy, small world
And also, she’s really good!! Maybe you should go make friends with her since she doesn’t want to be all by herself anymore... sorry, bad joke
And Joel’s dream of a singer and a ballet dancer is coming true (1:14)
Roomie: it‘s german
Me, a german: yay!
Roomie: *shows weird german whistle meme*
Me, disappointed: is that really still a thing?
The best kid singer just did a collab with Dharni!
Oh wait, the guy's 32, not 13 😬
@@towardsdespair3492 ah i misunderstood the comment, i didn't read the 'Oh wait, the guy's 32, not 13 😬' part 😅 sorry guys
I love how like the entire video Joel was just trying to find excuses to play his new piano. 😏😂
Edit: thanks for all the likes 🙏
Also side note since this comment is getting a lot of attention let me just say... WHATEVER HAPPENED TO SWEDISH WEEK 😭
i don’t know what to reply to this comment, cuz i agree with it. but saying “so true” is the worst possible thing anyone could do.
Joel: I don't want to hate on kids...
Everyone: Well thats a f*cking lie.
Joel: we’re in F minor, I know that cause I got a new piano.
Me: oh really I didn’t notice?!
Joel: we're in A major. Remember that.
Me: why???
OMG I GOT GOOSEBUMBS WITH THE "ALL BY MYSELF" GIRL, SHE'S AMAZIIIIIIIING
Joel: That's sad kids have to give up childhood for being very good at singing at a young age.
Also Joel: I'd like also to see the kids doing ballet.
All I hear is “Obaaamaaaa’s Ellllf”
What have you done to me.
this is the realist talent show that actually doesn't let people win just because they gave the judges a sad story that nobody asked for
*i'm looking at you america and britain's got talent*
And I'm looking at you DSDS (basically the german version of it)...
Joel: It's Whitney Houston time!
Me: I will always love you is originally by Dolly Parton Sir!!
(Whitney just made the song well known through her cover of it.)
She’s down that path of a singer that sings
“Rami 2020”
Joel flexing on us with his new piano as if his voice didn't flex on us enough 😔
Also flexing with music symbols I never knew existed...
Marco Borsato: *zingt mee*
Roomie: Oh shut up!
Ik: You tell em Roomie! :')
Yesss ik dacht ook al, je moet heel on Hollands zijn om tegen Marco shut up the zeggen😂😂
'The piano tells' could very well be the successor of 'a lil bit pitchy'
me being early when I'm in the other half of timezones proves how quarantine has changed my sleep cycle.
Lol same. It's like 11.10 in my country(SG🇸🇬🇸🇬🇸🇬) and supposed to b finishing hmwk but why not watch some Joel first😍😍
When Roomie said "Let's get freaking" I heard "Let's get freaky" and I was just like woah 😅
8:19 all I can think about is “Obama’s elf. Don’t want to be Obama’s elf.
The best intros ever, thats what were gonna be looking at, today the first one is Joel, playing a piano
Is anyone shook he just, listened to the intro, and said "so we are in" -slams keyboard- "f minor guys"
10:02 Roomie: that type of singer now that kinda like, sings
*Yes, the floor here is made out of floor*
@@Jumpylegs Oh really? Why don't you stick your hand in a glass of water and tell me if you get wet.
9:03. He should really really make a music video singing all by myself. He souds so good with his piano
Stirling playzz very true i would want to listen to him cover songs he is hard on himself sometimes but i think his voice is really kewl
Kid: * sings really high note *
Roomie: Hurts a little bit, doesn't it?
My hypersensible ear: * holds back tears * yup
When Joel pronounces “epitome” as epi-toum instead of “epit-o-me” So cute lol
It bothered me that he chopped off a syllable, but then it's a weird word anyways. It's a Greek word that we just use as an English one.
My boyfriend did the same until I kept making fun of him. I think it's a scandi thing :>
To be fair this is a difficult word for even native English speakers, I've noticed.
I blame it partially on the fact English has so many silent -e words, where the ending -e is silent but alters the first vowel (ex: wine, cave, gave, etc.).
I also partially blame it on the fact the word "tome" is pronounced just as he pronounced "epitome" (due to the silent -e rule), so it trips people up resulting in \i-ˈpi-tōm\ vs. the correct Greek rooted \i-ˈpi-tə-mē\.
Thanks for coming to my epitome tedx talk 😅
The people in the audience that are crying are probably friends not actors that's what I think😂
yeah they are family members or people who know them and they are proud
8:08 that "shut up" Is legendary
*So we’re not gonna talk about how the first girl’s name is Marijana?*
Everybody's videos in a zoom meeting call: 4K UHD
My video: 5:22
@@chchcho I'm guessing it was for copyright purposes but I am also having that question.
whoever disliked this video is probably just jealous of joel's epic piano skills 😤😤😤😤😤😤😤
or maybe people with the perfect pitch who don't need a piano to check the key :D
@@feggyo people who are upset that the angry talking mug is now gone and didn't get to be a merch
The voice America: we have the best singers.
The voice england: No we have the best singers.

The voice phillipines: AMATEURS
When Joel says his singing is cringe and I just sit there with vocal cords that never got to experience hitting beautiful notes like Joel (just nerd stuff Joel taught me)
the "I dont wanna hate on kids or whatever" killed meeeeeeee😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I need someone to make a compilation of Joel's face expressions when he listens to this stuff. 9:24-9:50 made me laugh so hard 😂🙈
I don't really like listening to singing children. But I think for this type of show, it works. If you put on a headset to listen to, it's weird, but watching their performance can thrill some people. People like to get emotional. The problem with talent shows is that they try to sell that emotion as something real, and that's what bothers me. I think to take it seriously you need to watch it like a movie, which you know is fiction, but you want to feel that scripted emotion in the same way.
I think the reason children are so successful in talent shows is because people tend to see children as lesser beings than adults, which is untrue and unethical in my opinion. When these children do something as well as or better than adults, people are more emotional because they see that these children have somehow overcome their "ignorance" to succeed.
@@norahunter it makes a lot of sense. adults don't take children seriously often. I don't like children (I don't hate them, but I'm not those people who melt when they see a baby). But children usually like me a lot and I think it’s because I take them seriously. I don't change my tone of voice to talk to them, I ask them smart questions about video games, or anything from their universe. Children are smart and talented. Maybe bc I know that, this kind of talent show doesn't surprise me so much.
@@Bruna-zr6qj Children are just tiny adults on apple juice :)
But seriously, I applaud you for treating children with that kind of respect. Children understand their worth more than we realize, so they gravitate towards those willing to actually engage with them.
@@norahunter just tiny adults on apple juice. I loved that definition haha
I mean yeah same BUT BUT BUT
what if they were genuinely good and your kinda style?
"Awww shut up" - me everytime someone interrupts a performance
That.... That intro was so.... So touching :')
Got me in the feels 100 %
that kid singing at 0:53 in the video was amazing, *GOOSEBUMPS*
Why was that one vid pixelated af😂
I think bc the kid was wearing inappropriate clothes so his editor blurred it
i guess those clips are blurred cause of the problems with copyright
cause the third performance is the Ukrainian voice kids, filmed by channel 1+1, which often strikes youtubers for using its content, they have a strange policy
I'm so glad Daneliya Tuleshova (the Kazakh girl in The Voice Kids Ukraine) is in here aaa!! She's truly amazing. It's a long shot, but I really hope Roomie sees and hears more of her singing. I'd recommend:
•Stone Cold (her blind audition in The Voice)
•Ne Tvoya Viina (translated: Not Your War)
•Spectrum
She also has a TH-cam channel rn, and she's been doing some English covers!
No one :
Literally no one :
Joel: flexing with his piano as hard as he can 😂
Ahh I was waiting for Mimi and Josefin singing Creep because that’s just something else ... maybe that video was composed before their audition i’m not sure
9:24
Look at his head 😭😭
That’s great to see how passionate to music you are lol
(Btw she gave me the chills.)
Fun fact: Although “I Will Always Love You” was popularized by Whitney Houston, it was originally written and sung by Dolly Parton as a song to a close friend.
So I've been to a few "The Voice" shows (in Los Angeles). They know when there will be "emotional" songs so they will bring out the people that know the singer for example that will have the more personal reaction of seeing their friend/family perform. They will also move the audience around for the people who are more willing to be an active crowd. They tell you to stand and clap, and you're not allowed to stop standing or stop clapping till basically the song is over (three minutes of torture if you're in the standing audience and have to do it above your head for that long again and again throughout the show). I know the family stuff behind in the back is a lot more staged so the auditions are more fake, but the actual live shows once the audience does the voting are best. Finales week is even better with all the guest stars and longer/multiple songs from each artist.
Rommie: why are the parents always crying?
Me: idk maybe because they’re proud that their child preformed great in front of all these people???😂
**an amazing kid preforms**
Joel: it kind of sounds like all the kids I’m used to when they sing
Me, **a kid** : wow. What kind of kids are you hanging out with and where can I meet them?
(But seriously I wanna know!!! Maybe Joel knows some crazy kids but all the kids I know (including myself) are MORE than just a little bit pitchy) 😆
Well i don't kno how old he was but i think Joel has gone to some kind of music school and band school or Something like that. I seem to Remember him Saying that he has taken classes in music theory and how to write music. Maybe he went to school with a lot of talented music kids.
amadkmimi 1 well yeah, but that was for college I think, or at least older than like elementary school.
Nobody:
Joel: "the tone was just aglaghaghalghalghaugh"

Ever since Roomie's wrong lyrics video that he did with Dave, all I can hear is "Obama's elf".... I may never be able to unhear it, ever, in my life 😂
Celine Dion did a cover of "All By Myself" which is originally by Eric Carmen.
me: was going to sing
my friend: plz sing i want to hear you voice
me again: well i am not doing it!
I did not expect these high notes from the "nessun dorma" performance! Still waiting for the "Castle on The Hill" cover.
I really sometimes feel like binge-watching those The Voice videos but I can relate to you saying OH SHUT UP when others join in the singing or the camera pans to emotion sucker's faces!
I just can't enough of those amazing Roomy Joel reactions! They are so hilarious...that's why I watch these videos as well as the fact that the singers are impressive.
I love how Joel throws shade on Ilse DeLange and Marco Borsato 😂😂😂👌
2:19 The judge on german: "das klingt gut (that sounds great) "
Petition for Joel to make a song made of only thirst/creepy comments on his videos.
(I got the idea from another I saw comment the other day)
Beees Are great I’m not taking about a specific one, just ones he sees in general. Like ones saying “marry me” and other worse creepy stuff.
Umm...Joel has a nice hat
And...
His floofy hair is very beautiful
(I really don't know 😂)
is no one gonna talk about how at 5:20 minutes in it looks like minecraft on a toaster?
Joel: Why is there always a clip of someone crying.
Me: This is why I like "Got Talent" more since instead of someone crying, the audience just claps or boos
It's so weird seeing Roomie react to a program that you saw on tv in your European country (i'm Dutch) xD
Watching your videos during a very difficult time in my life. A year ago, someone very close to me committed suicide. I'm going through storage and finding our shared belongings- suddenly it feels real to me. It's the most painful experience I've had.
Music has always been my pillar of strength, but I feel nothing recently.. listening without my music buddy. Watching your videos is helping me bridge that gap, so I can hold onto my pillar of strength once more. Thank you. 💖
When Joel says "is it Russia?" about Ukrainian version of "The Voice"
Btw there was a boy in Ukrainian "The Voice" who sang All by myself LIKE A GOD(a little spoiler-he became a winner)
I took part in this year's The Voice of Greece and I can confirm (was always curious about it from a producing point of view) that they tune/correct the final product for the pre-recorded episodes(not live). That benefits both the show and the contestant since the video is gonna stay up virtually forever and the outcome (the criticism/vote of the judges) is still true to that moment. The autotuning is clearly there for "polishing the product" and we know that it can't do miracles.
Quote of the month: "We all are little bit pitchy"
Find someone who looks at you like Joel looks at his new piano.
The first girl surprised me, really nice voice+ plus she is from Serbia (I think) and so am I and it's supper rare to see people from around here on shows like this
Honestly Joel could be lying about what key the singer is in and I'd still believe him
Me too. I have no idea how to hear that.
Same
@@ASMRJey Maybe he has perfect pitch. Or maybe he just plays every chord possible off camera until it eventually matches the song lol
He looks up the song
@@FairyCRat I probably sound like a snob here but he doesn't need to play every chord, he probably has really good relative pitch so he would only need to play a C major chord to be able to tell what key the singer is in lol
