5:00 btw the guy wearing the jacket is Alexi Pajitnov, the creator of Tetris.
Alexey
You know what's even crazier? There are already two more game crashers (Fractal and Andy). Scuti will always be the first and as of writing this, he still holds the level record (The other two got the earliest game crash at level 155). The classic Tetris community is insane.
Agreed! I never even imagined Tetris would ever become this hype and competitive!
It was never about who did it earliest, to try to take away from blue scuti by making it so it was about “earliest” is disrespectful to scuti, we don’t need to make up new specific records so everyone feels like they are a winner, what’s next? Next earliest crash while wearing a sombrero and listening to Justin beiber? Not everyone needs a participation trophy and be a winner
Here after four more months and we have three more game crashers. This community is absolutely insane
Alex twice, Tristop, Myles.
and Alex got a 16 million world record, two in fact. But BlueScuti just retook the lead with an astounding 18 million score. 20 million is a when, not an if
"please crash"
"no gamer ever wants a crash"
And than there's me on the occasion, hoping for a crash every now and then
Also just watch the kid get a Guiness World Record
What he did is absolutely insane and the whole thing about him kinda doing it for his dad who passed away makes it even more wholesome! I don't think that's the last time we heard of him!
@justsmokiuncut I hope this isn't the last time we hear of the kid and yeah it is pretty wholesome
He got several in that single game. Highest score, most lines completed, first to reach a "Kill screen."
Btw Fractal plays with the controller upside down, tapping left to go right and right to go left
Because why not making even harder than it already is xD
Nowadays, people usually play on a modified ROM that actually doesn't crash. The crash fix is not intentional, though - the modified ROM changes the score display so you can actually keep track of your score past 999999 - before, you had to manually calculate your score. This change also happens to fix the crash.
Blue Scuti deliberately used the original ROM to get the crash, but most records are set using the modified version.
Alex Thatch, who was briefly mentioned in this video, was the first to 10 million points (actually got 16 million in that game... almost doubling the score WR). He, and probably some others, are currently trying for the Rebirth on this modified ROM.
Starting from a higher level than normally possible, it's already been done. Starting from 18 or 19, he's gotten real close already. Honestly, it's going to happen sooner rather than later.
The tournament Fractal won against Sydnev, she (Sydnev) beat Scuti in the semifinals. So yeah, Scuti was in the tournament. It was his first world champion attendance and he reached the final 4!
He's absolutely insane! HOLY!
Sydnev is a dude, not even close to passing lmao, no female has ever made finalist and it’s rude to act like one has
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd you are embarrassing the name of chicken joe and should be ashamed of yourself
@@ChickenJoe-tq6xd you and your misogynistic notions of "passing" are not welcome
1:11 The gloves are used to reduce the friction between the hand and controller
I mean she is right, for the gaming scene 3-5 hours isn't much. It doesn't mean that 3-5 hours of intense physical and mental strain isn't impressive.
I agree! It always depends on the circumstances!
Beating this record on the original hardware means beating a 74% chance to crash the game when you clear a single line on level 157 :x
What he's done is insanely impressive!
There are some Tetris tournaments hosted in Europe, not the world championship, but I think there is a decent amount.
Yeah compared to the US it's nothing, but that's not just with Tetris, basically with everything gaming related!
@@justsmokiuncut The only thing I'm unsure about is if the Euro tournament to declare the European winner is still going. I know it existed at some point. and that it was played in the Pal version of the game because it is the predominant version in Europe.
You should watch agamescout's recent video, Alex Thach reached level 235 a month ago
16:43 thats a lie it was a modified verison.
Im so happy classic tetris is getting regconition again, modern tetris still gonna be left in the dust tho 😅
very good reaction!
I enjoyed the film (hopefully I'll get to rewatch it with you guys). 🎬
Oh that would be siick! I hope you are available for the next movienight! :D
Pieces are random in nes Tetris
The reaction time need for this prolonged amount of time mussed be exhausting! Jesus!

TetrisAlexT just got to level 235, the 800 line level with 16 MILLION POINTS
AVOIDING THE GAME CRASHES
edit: person tell me in replies that Alex used a modded game where the game crash points don't exist
But did he did it completely legit, completely avoiding game crash, or did he used Tetris Gym? Because same with StackRabbit, I think it has another game crash points, much further, because of the already mentioned 7 digits instead of 6 cap. I ask because I am not sure myself. But I don’t think he avoid the crash
@@f1championyoutube2.09
If you watched the video he used a cart modded by Kiljava that fix the crash
@@f1championyoutube2.09 Alex got Level 157 and 6 lines on console, 5 lines higher than Blue Scuti's crash
I am not sure how realistic it is to drag the game through those later levels without using 3-4 controllers to scramble the crash locations (heard this from Fractal)
@@maxdragonsoul5553 yeah, but at the moment I posted my comment I don’t think he did it yet
He did it on a modded cartridge that took out the crash spots
69th like, nice
