I'll reiterate what everybody else is saying. Clips of Bob Mortimer on this show are always brilliant. Also, Henning Wehn's appearances on the show are usually hilarious too.
You really, really need to do a reaction to Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie to You. He's hysterically funny, especially when he talks about setting his house on fire. As a side note, Bob's also a trained lawyer and accompanied Jarvis Cocker from the band Pulp to the police station, after Jarvis was arrested for mooning at Michael Jackson during the MTV Music Awards.
@@cvwright I think it’s the case that every lawyer can be a solicitor but not every solicitor can be a lawyer. Lawyers can be barristers but solicitors can’t… I think
With regard to the voices and drinking section, the reason why jimmy puts on a northern accent when drinking is because in the U.K. it’s generally accepted that more alcohol is consumed per capita the further north you travel, and as for Lee mack’s comeback ‘ whenever I’m trying to defraud the government I put on a voice like yours’ ( referring to Jimmy’s voice/accent ) is because Jimmy famously was caught up in a tax avoidance scandal a few years ago.
There is a collection of Lee Mack’s on the spot jokes titled ‘Mack speed’ which is probably a little too long for your channel to react to but shows the sheer brilliance of this format and the team captains on it.
Would I Lie To You is definitely still going strong on BBC1. It’s a great panel show with brilliant banter between the host and team captains. As just about everyone else has said, you need to check out the Bob Mortimer truths/lies, he really has set the standard for obscuring the facts and fictions of his stories and he does it to such a level that you both believe and disbelieve everything that he’s saying simultaneously
The UK has raft of good panel shows. Lee Mack (the northerner sitting in the middle s one of the sharpest minds in comedy), Kevin Bridges story about horse will have you in stitches. The best story was this "Was Brian Blessed's canoe skippered by an orangutan? - Would I Lie to You? Series 10"
I'll say it, just like the others here have. Bob Mortimer is the legend of this show. However, it's still running and very funny whoever is on it. David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Rob Brydon make sure of it. Hilarious show. Great reaction👍
Your right about north and south. However - they were refering to Jimmy not paying his taxes and using offshore stuff and being brought up about publicly in British press 👍👍
To be fair, Jimmy avoided tax (legal), not evaded (illegal) and he took it on the chin. The PM at the time (Cameron) had a go at him by name, although Cameron's family wealth was based on evasion, and tax havens and he and his entire party were u p to their necks in evasion, expenses scams and corruption.
Would I Lie To You is one of the best panel shows and, as a lot of people have said, Bob Mortimer is really funny when he's a guest. David Mitchell and Lee Mack are also very quick witted.
All of the suggestions below are great, also look at "Kevin Bridges I once accidentally bought a horse" on this same show... But full episodes would be even better
Many people are recommending Bob Mortimer (of course). Recommended: watch his episodes in order, or watch a compilation. Some of the later ones spoil some of the earlier ones.
15:50 That's Richard Wilson who played grumpy old man Victor Meldrew in BBC sitcom One Foot in the Grave and the host of WILTY in that episode is Angus Drayton who played Victor's long-suffering neighbour and enemy Patrick.
I think you’re right to wonder if you would enjoy full episodes of this show. There are some hilarious BS stories. But even more than that, the interaction between the team captains: David Mitchell and Lee Mack has some ongoing jokes. David Mitchell is very sharp and Lee Mack is quick fire with his comebacks.
You have discovered a British gem.....highly recommend, Bob Mortimer, Claudia Winkleman, Henning Wehn, James Acaster, Greg Davis, Richard Osman to name but a few if you are going down the compilation route...Also 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, another brilliant/mad panel show...enjoy :)
Bob Mortimer's appearances on this show are so legendary that he now has his own meme people use when the government or celebrity says something utterly indefensible to the point of absurdity.
One more comment in favour of Bob Mortimer. He's outrageously funny on Would I Lie to You. Also both team captains are razor sharp. David Mitchell can conjure an argument in twenty seconds and make a case that is both impenetrable and hilarious! Show is still going strong too.
The two team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack are brilliant. Should check out their best bits from the show. Their chemistry, and north vs south banter is worth checking out.
What are you two drinking? Coffee, beer, lager, whisky, rum, bloody mary, a nice cold gin and tonic - taste fantastic. Like others have said Bob Mortimer is in a one off.
I second/third/fourth etc. all the comments about Bob Mortimer - the guy has lead such a mad life you never quite know when he's making stuff up or not - they are brilliant ... The show is still going and it's brilliant ...
Claudia winkleman on this show is also entertaining. She plays a ditzy character on TV but shes so lovable. She's a tv presenter, radio personality and journalist. Also great on 8 out of 10 cats does countdown. Possibly 8 out of 10 cats too
This reaction is great 😂 Also, Bob Mortimer and Rhod Gilbert are hilarious on would I lie to you. James Acaster also had some great stories he shares on the show too
What I like about Rhod's stories is remembering listening to his Radio Wales show and hearing these blizzare stories as they happened, especially when he was on holiday and he'd phone in live from say France
I've not read the comments but I'm sure everyone is saying do bob Mortimer. He has hands down the best stories on this show. A close second is henning wehn.
Brilliant you must watch this with Bob Mortimer he is absolutely hilarious if you enjoyed this you’ll definitely love Bob Yes it’s been going for years and still is you’ll see some brilliant comedians on this show so please keep watching them Love from Denise in Yorkshire England 🏴😂😂🤣🤣👍🥰👋
Agree with others here, Bob Mortimer on Would I Lie To You is on another level, the would not believe the things that have actually happened in his life.

Please do more reactions to Would I Lie To You! The Bob Mortimer episodes in particular are absolutely hilarious, although any episode would be awesome - they're all funny as f*ck!
Would I Lie to You or WILTY for short is a long running current BBC series. Jimmy's very fast, very smart and not afraid to say anything. I don't think there is a line he won't cross, he is savage with hecklers. Bob mortimer is wonderful on this show, because Bob has lived 🤣. Absolutely any story, no matter how extraordinarily weird and unbelievable, could be true from Bob Mortimer because that's just Bob. Wonderful show. 🤣
We get this show British show in Australia, I love it, it’s hysterical. Their wit is so dam quick and funny. My fav is story about the Horse And the one about the Cabbage.
Maybe it was an English thing, but I was drinking coffee from the age of about 2. I can remember asking for coffee and toast for breakfast during a hospital stay at that age, I also remember tearing open the tinfoil seal on each new tin of Nescafe and floating off on the freshly released smell of the coffee. (and yes, I do love the taste...even Nescafe!) Great show guys, thanks!
Lol. You guys are going down a rabbit hole here...there have been 13 seasons of WILTY, so far. They are definitely worth watching though, especially episodes with Bob Mortimer
I will endorse what other commentators have said. Bob Mortimer is hilarious on Would I Lie to You - easily one of the best guests - there are two compilations of his appearances on the show. They are hysterical.
My younger brother used to have milky coffee in a bottle too. Maybe it was something that generation of parents knew about. Also it wasn't uncommon to see a toddler having it's dummy (pacifier) dipped in the froth atop a pint of beer.
And yeh, you should definitely check out more of these show, it's hilarious 👌😂 the bloke on Jimmy's right is Lee Mack,he's a team captain and he's brilliant, so quick and always has everyone in tears 👏😂😂
Again whatever you guys do, listen to these comments Bob Mortimer on this show is honestly something else. He’s brilliant think of him as the equivalent of Sean lock with carrot in a box He’s just that good and that funny every single time he’s on you won’t believe it
Try the would I lie to you with Rob Brydon and panel doing Sean Connery impressions. As usual it is hilarious!!! Great reviews and opinions guys !!! Really enjoyable.
Wilty still going another rabbit hole for you lol Bob Mortimer absolutely legend of a guest you should react to him also Kevin bridges I bought a horse is awesome
A couple more recommendations, David's secret from his wife with Victoria sat next to him and Lee's Royal Wedding secret. Two of the absolute best rounds wvwr

Yes Would I Lie to You is still going, don’t know how you’d get full episode though unless it’s on Dailymotion, or if there is any way you can watch BBC in the states then there’s also that
In Europe you can only back into a parking spot as there is no room to get into it frontally, there are usually 15 cm or less left in front and at the back of the car after you've parked.
Jimmy was caught up in a tax avoidance scheme so he gets a lot of tax jokes directed at him. 😂
I'll reiterate what everybody else is saying. Clips of Bob Mortimer on this show are always brilliant. Also, Henning Wehn's appearances on the show are usually hilarious too.
Yeah I was about to suggest Bob Mortimer, Snipers dream
Definitely, Bob is great.
Beat me to it yes wilty bob
Yes, Bob Mortimer.

Agreed. However, I think subtitles will be necessary for Kevin Bridges. 😆
Kevin Bridges and Henning When are brilliant. It's the dryness to there humour
the horse story is legendary! as well as acasters appearances!
Got to watch Bob Mortimer on would I lie to you lads

Would I lie to you - David Mitchell rants, Bob Mortimer, Henning Wehn and more.
Glad the comments are flooded with Bob Mortimer suggestions. Would love to see them react

When you get to Bob Mortimer........
Kevin Bridges bought a horse is surreal, well worth it, and Bob Mortimer a must.
Also Claudia Winkleman, for sheer bubbly madness
