    Now that I know the meaning of this song, it makes it 100 times more encouraging.

    Keep it up Ryan. There will be mockers and scoffers. Keep running the race, keep fighting the good fight. Your crowns will be waiting for you. Jesus knows persecution first had to the fullest. You will always be looked at wrongly when shed light on the dark. Keep exposing the truth and NEVER give up! I've been with you for 10yrs too!

    Stay strong man. The day of reckoning is coming. Lazarus proved just men die and the murder of Jesus proved justice was turned around backwards bro! Darkness is condemned already. Rejoice in the light. Those who are alive and survive will be gathered together with Christ and those with Him in cloudiness, naturally surrounding Him and so we will forever be with the Lord. Comfort one another with these words. Amen.

      This song reminds me of when YHWH asked Abraham to give up Isaac, the son who was apart of God's promise/covenant. Abraham was required to be willing & faithful even to the point of sacrificing Isaac. We are all being asked to endure, trust/hope & thus wait upon Jesus's promises to us! He is faithful to keap His word to us, His people, and the USA!

    I love this song, I can really relate to the lyrics, which seems to be a common thing with me and this band.
    No matter how many of us are left, we have to keep steadfast to what we believe, even in the face of violent opposition.
    Amazing.

    When I heard of this song first hand I started crying and recollecting. I am a sole survivor of drug abuse. The friends I shared my life with including my lover and partner became addicts to heroin and meth. It was a period of a few years where I remained steadfast not becoming what my friends had turned into, and not submitting under depression to end my life. Some of the people I knew then ended up dead, fixated with being high, or locked away in prison. I moved away from the small town two years ago, some of my friends hated me because of it, leaving me in exiled and alone. It's very hard for me to meet new people and start over, sometimes I wonder what's so good about being, "The Last One Alive" when literately the friends that you once knew and cared about are now dead and no more. It Sucks being the last one alive...

    I appreciate the heart and passion of Ryan Clark and the band as a whole. This is probably the most impactful song lyrically I have heard in a while about being steadfast and firm in your faith and who you are and what God has made you. Never lose that Ryan. You are not alone. There are other hunters out there and appreciate you and the band

  • @BigCountryEO75

    One of my cousins father is related to Ryan Clark. His dad and Ryan are like first cousins so that's just a cool side note. But on a more serious note I would like to say that as a recently turned Messianic Jew, and as an individual who has been listening to demon hunter ever since they first came out, I feel that it is a great benefit for the faith community as a whole that people like Ryan Clark and his fellow band members are not hiding what they believe. They don't mince words and are unapologetic. I would agree with Ryan that there is a strong feeling in media and modern culture today that if you are a Christian, Jewish, or whatever than you are intolerant of other people. I am only 20, going to be 21 in late July, and at relatively early stage in my life have seen and felt the attitude that just because I or anybody for that matter considers themselves a person of faith of any type the you have something wrong with you. I am a Libertarian/Classical Liberal.Which basically means I want the most freedom for all people and the least amount of government possible and in some cases no government at all. I believe that we need to debate all ideas and beliefs without being hateful and judgmental because you lean towards a certain political philosophy or faith or no faith for that matter. I have many Atheist friends and we have honest debates about life, creation, meaning, etc. but at the end of the day we still love and respect each other. Tolerance and acceptance must go both ways. I will support your decision to marry or pray to/not pray to who ever you want. But you must also stand up for my right to say I disagree with your life choice without being called a hater, homophobic, etc. Live and Let Live but always remember that individual freedom is more important that collective "salvation".

    Don't give up! Learn to be gentler, & active listeners, who direct your passions better against evil. Remember the Devil comes to divide & deceive, but Jesus brought a sword, not of hate or judgement, but love & the gospel! You are my favorite band. Stay true, strong, & unashamed! Look to Joel Olstein's example when he was attacked on CNBS for defending the Bible's teaching on homosexuality, & yet how Olstein still recognized said sinners humanity & value. The pundit/bully failed his attack against Olstein's meekness, & his unabashed proclaiming of His word.

    When I first heard this song, the two Biblical figures that immediately popped into my mind were Enoch and Elijah. Both lived at a time when following the Lord was not only unpopular, but dangerous. And when the chorus mentions being the only one alive, or ascending(into heaven), that reinforces the connection this song has with those two faithful men.
    Amazing music.

    I can only hope that God gives me strength to remain in His way and doing His will, no matter what I face in the days ahead. Jesus reminded us that the world can only destroy our body, but that after death, the sin from our life can condemn us to eternal separation, if we are not recognized as one of His followers.

    It's weird... I probably don't agree with many things Ryan believes, but I still love him for being honest. Although my views are way more pacifistic then Demon Hunter's I am a Christian and I see them as brothers in faith. I can't count the hours I've spent listening to Ryans voice.

  • @spartan346

    Ryan you're a very good man, but there's plenty of legitimate reasons why people are opposed to your faith, never take it personally because I know many christians do not behave the way passages in scripture indicate believers should. I loved your band when I was a christian, and i'll continue to support you guys as an agnostic atheist.

    • @danielallen4650
      @danielallen4650 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey man, I give you respect because I do agree and disagree with you. As of the Christian theme, you're right, MOST Christians do not follow of being taught, However, everyone's being deceive do to lying to themselves by making excuses to live and by not living their belief. from this comment you spake of, You were just witness hypocrites with excuses. For you're respect for this band, I still consider you as a brother in metal. However, no disrespect, Can I have a reason why you've became an atheist?

    • @spartan346
      @spartan346 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Allen Hey man, appreciate the love and respect! There's a lot that went into leaving Christianity, but mainly there's a prophecy about the destruction of the city of Tyr by the hands of Nebuchadnezzar and it was never ever supposed to be rebuilt( Ezekiel 26:7-14) that really just made me realize there were so many lies right in our face. Tyr still exists to this day. They survived Neb, as well as many other sieges throughout history. As i've heard all my life from almost all my christian leaders, God's word cannot lie, for if one word of God's is a lie, then the rest cant be trusted and you would be calling god a liar. Anyway, If you look on google maps, it looks like a really nice place haha. I hope my answer was helpful.

      spartan346 The Old Testament is more of a story book of morals, analogies, and war. Gotta take most of those stories lightly. On a side note Ezekiel was actually the first prophet we have actual proof existed. If you are in college I recommend if you need liberal studies credits to take REL 210 and 220. Those classes force you to read the Bible critically and actually made me a better Christian and a more open minded individual. Those classes are also an Atheists best weapon too.

      spartan346 Hey friend! I'm sorry you've had some doubts in your faith life, and I'm not trying to force my beliefs on you, or prove you wrong or anything like that, but after reading your comment I felt I needed to try and help you find an answer to your question, (did that prophecy fail or not?) Why? Because your comment got me interested in finding an answer also, I don't like being a sheep, I try and find the answers to these kind of things as well. I did some searching and I came across an article that explains it pretty well. Give it a read if you like! I don't know you, and I understand if this means nothing to you, but I'll be praying for you, and I hope you find the answers you're looking for. :)

      that's interesting but I don't know who taught you but the translation of that verse refers the city of BABYLON being destroy and shall not be built again from the King himself. However, being translated from Old to New Testament, It's a deeper study. you might see it as lies, But I translate it differently of which, the passage itself was talking about the king and not the city. for the king shall not build the city again. you see? anyway, I just wanted some past-history knowledge. thanks man. appreciate your time. However, I am not saying you're wrong but I am saying I don't see it. Everyone has an opinion on everything. But hey, I am spreading a lot of underground metal bands. If interested. wanna check em out? I promise, very talented and not some cheap garage bands

    amazing! i love the song, and I support you and your band Ryan! you have powerful lyrics, and meaningful as well. not to mention their is not one album so far where their is a song i don't like!
    i do how ever disagree with your stance on america's wars. the wars are evil! all for control and big banks, other then that I believe you have a strong faith, and this song shows it!
    God bless

      I am on your boat brother, but when did Ryan ever say he was pro-war? I know alot of songs they make are about war, but its more like spiritual warfare or the type of warfare that if you hurt me, my family, friends and those around me, be prepared to suffer the consequences. Like a porcupine, solitary creature that will leave you alone if you leave it alone, but if you get in its business, it will mess you up. DH also got news that their music was used to torture people by the US military, and in a response DH said it by no means supports torture. That being I am interested to know what sources you have that state demon hunter supports war.

    • @sh9683
      @sh9683 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      here is where they say they support the troops,
      loudwire.com/demon-hunter-address-association-with-navy-seal-member-who-shot-osama-bin-laden/
      and yes i have heard that military have used demon hunters music to torture people, but that only reflects the sickness in the US military and has no baring on DH's faith and beliefs
      i still support demon hunter, I have all his albums from since summer of darkness, and i have already pre-ordered their new album. and will most likely buy all future albums they come out with.
      they make excellent music with excellent lyrics

      I remember reading about that a while back and although it does seem to have the pro-war analogy to it, They never outright say they are pro war. Just that they support the military and seal team 6. There are alot of bad people in the middle east, many of they being dictators that america has installed and overthrown the original democratic government they used to have, but it remains the culture is messed up. The people need the Gospel spoken to them, not bombs being dropped on them.
      As a Ron Paul supporter who was a delegate all the way to the state convention in TX, I believe what Ron Paul says in that I support and love the men and women in uniform, but I do not support the wars. Support the troops not the wars. Demon Hunter does not advocate an unessessary agression by supporting the troops, our troops need all the love they can get, especially with all the hate and post-dramatic stress that comes their way. They need more love and they need to come home.

    • @sh9683
      @sh9683 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      glad to see another ron paul supporter. I believe the only way to support the troops is to demand their immediate return home.

  • @taylorantley

    I often have doubts about my beliefs, but the fact that I'm struggling to follow God shows how much I truly do believe. I have noticed that arguing with atheists doesn't help. Many of them try to explain how different parts of the Bible couldn't have happened. An atheist might talk about a city in the Bible that was supposedly destroyed but still exists today. Maybe it was destroyed and then rebuilt? If anything, I should research for myself instead of taking someone's word.
    Only people who truly hate God would spend their lives hating Christians and trashing their beliefs. If people like this don't believe in God, why are they angry? How can you be angry at something that you don't even think exists? I'm curious ,and I wouldn't mind having civil conversations on this topic. I have talked to atheists who were angry the entire conversation. They either kept saying God is evil or said my beliefs are irrational. I won't respond to this nonsense so please provide stories behind your reasoning. I look forward to hearing any stories about how you think God has ruined your lives.

    Watching the video, I kind of wish he would just come out and proclaim the band's beliefs. Everyone here knows he is talking about their Christianity. Of course I'm sure they would like the song to be inspiration and motivation for non Christians as well, but in their example we all know what he means. Your intentions are bold. Make your words bold.

    Great explanation of this song.. But lately I've heard that Ryan is the only dude who actually abides by the beliefs in Christ and the other dudes participate in many if the worldly things that are offered etc from a very close source of the band and myself.. I'd like to hear their response about why they shield that from their followers. I see nothing wrong with drinking a beer or having a whiskey shot with some friends, but they avoid it in public even as full grown adults.

    Love your music dude, but all kinds of belief's will never change . Don't beat your self up cause in the end, everything we ALL believe in, no matter what religion you follow, might end up not being true. Enjoy your life, follow what you believe in, respect others belief's and yes, have doubts. Part of being a human.

    I love this band's music and everything, but it really is sad to see them so mislead like this.
    As if christianity hasn't been one of the most prominent religions in the western world for centuries.
    I wish it wasn't popular. Luckily it's getting there more and more. When religions like christianity are gone the world will see better days.
