    NO WAY I love this so much man :)
    You even recognized Lopez and Myrthil I'm crying dude
    Also I 100% agree with the two plots, the Miles Plot and the Romance Plot, not tying thematically. At a certain point in the story, they did, but it really wasn't working for me, and then as I rewrote I realized that if I tried to tie the two plots together, it would feel extremely forced, so I ended up having them become their own two separate things, to the detriment of the overall flow of the story. It was pretty hard to do, but I think I was able to handle it well for the corner I forced myself into
    Thanks so much for the constructive criticism man!

      Head's up that I also loved the Return to Zootopia fan film, been following this amazing story, especially the sweet relationship between Judy and Nick, since 2017! Wildehopps forever! Plus, I pretty much loved the little surprise at the end in which (CAUTION: SMALL SPOILER) is basically a book end to the fan film, as Judy asked Nick about his mom and wanting to meet her, in which she finally does at the end of the film! Bravo work on it!

      @@Browntable I found this film on Monday I believe and I've watched it multiple times since then! Let's just say I'm obsessed! Also, that hug between Nick and Judy after his "date" with Karen gave me all the feels.

    Once I found myself quoting this regularly, I basically considered it a real film, because I only spout random quotes to myself for stuff that I really love. I want to know where this guy dug up Anton Mabey because his work as Miles Walker is so good, especially when he cuts loose as a psycho

    When I find video on youtube about how people talk about why they don't like Returt to zootopia... All I had to do was listen just 2 minutes of video and I didn't want to watch rest of it. I would just be really pissed. I was mainly upset when they said this had a terrible animation. I would tell them: (Try to animate it all by yourself if you don't like it,and Good luck....)

    • @CPN467
      @CPN467  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Exactly. To me, the most important thing is story, and this clearly stayed true to the prejudicial themes as well as the criminal plot line that Zootopia was all about.

    10:18 Oops. That’s awkward.
    SPOILERS FOR RTZ
    I did like RTZ, I watched it pretty much every time a new episode would release and while I do love the amount of effort Browntable put into it, there were a few things that fell flat for me.
    The script probably needed at least one more re-draft, because there were still some lines that come off as incredibly cringey.
    The voice acting was mostly great, with my only exceptions being Bogo but especially Miles Walker.
    Miles Walker. I really didn’t like his character, he felt way too overdramatic and honestly annoying to watch.
    And the ending, it didn’t really land as well with me then I think Browntable was expecting. Becoming a police officer was the main crux of Judy’s character, it was her dream job, and just like in real life, Judy had to push through all the bullshit to get there and unfortunately, some people just don’t get there. Throwing it away the way they did at the end kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, I thought the final, final scene was great but where the story ends up taking the two at the end just doesn’t feel right.
    Asides from all that though, I really enjoyed the film, critically I’d give it a 3.5/5 but looking at the effort Browntable put into it, he and his team would definitely get a 5 in that regard.
    This was a really great review, I really enjoyed watching it! You were fairly critical, bringing up positive and negative points about the film, you highlighted key scenes and you have probably brought a lot more attention to Browntable’s work. Great Job!

    • @CPN467
      @CPN467  4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Many thanks. I’m glad you enjoyed it.
      I would agree that the voice acting was kind of off, it almost seemed like they were recording in places where you couldn’t yell or anything, so it’s not as emotional.
      As for Miles Walker, like I said, I really appreciate that Browntable tried to give him development, but again, the fact that his plot seemed thematically separate from Judy and Nick’s romantic struggles dragged it down.
      I guess I do understand why the ending doesn’t work for some, because it may seem like the movie is saying you should just take everything you’ve strived for and just throw it away.
      But I think what Judy realized was, she was trying to prove herself to people who doubted her just for her species. In the end, she was using her own gifts for their undeserved benefit.
      Like she said, “I don’t need this job to prove my worth. To prove I can do it.”
      Now, I would say that she wouldn’t have accomplished what she without an insane amount of luck, but I still believe that her and Nick becoming private investigators was probably the best decision for both of them, because they don’t have to work for Chief Bozo anymore.
      But anyway, thanks for the comment and check out my other videos if you get the chance!

    I have to say i am a fanfic writer but I also don't like most fanfics because of cringy unsuiting dialogue and character development. The romantic trait is forced on most characters in an unnatural way. Especially when you have two characters who are introvert. For a good story you sometimes have to look at the character not from a master pov but more an equal and see what would he/she/they want now? Would they really do it? That doesn't mean that the target can not be achieved. It will just be in a slower but more fitting way for that character.

    First, let me state that I am blind, so may have missed visual clues in the fan film. I watched the original Zootopia film, renamed Zootropolis in the UK, with audio description. I loved the original Zootropolis film and was eager for a fan fic like the return to Zootopia.
    Though I cannot see the animation, I loved the return to Zootopia film, the voice acting was amazing! I love Nick and Judy's relationship so much! On other matters, I think Miles worked well. he is an angry abused creature, and I have met many humans like him. yes, he's over the top in everything he does, but this is understandable due to his abusive childhood, and fear of being found out for who he really is. I agree with the reviewer that Miles should have targeted the mixed relationships in Zootopia, as mixed relationships was a very strong plotline in the original Zootopia film, and, in the human world, prejudice against such is often a hidden driver of division, and was touched on in this fan fic. I feel there could have been an alliance between Karen, I think it is, the vixen who says Nick and Judy’s relationship is disgusting, and Miles, who wants to destroy all that is good. I have had a read of some of the comments, btw, I use a text to speech screenreader, and am led to understand that Nick hugs Miles at the end of the film, maybe that could be after Miles realises interspecies relationships are a good thing, as he sees Judy's concern for Nick after Miles shot him. having listened to this review, I agree with the reviewer that cold coffee was a poor song choice for Nick and Judy to sing, and think it should change to another Ed Sheeran Song, Thinking out loud. that song has amazing vocals and a positive message and could be joined in with by Judy too. maybe splitting the verses, and both joining in with the last chorus, just a thought. All in all, I loved this fan film. thanks to the commenter who cleared up for me what happened at the end of the film. without Audio description describing the caller at the house, I couldn't work out who Judy was talking to. I would love Disney to grab this fan generated movie and run with it.

    To play devils advocate on the miles plot, I think it plays another role in the movies ideas about social inequality, but one of class inequality rather than racial inequality. In a world where the divide is getting larger, I’m totally fine with the miles plot not being totally thematically tied to the racial divide, heck it’s something that the first movie touched on. Metropolis’ certainly have multiple ways that inequality can be approached in the arts. But that’s one thought
