Pakistan cable car incident and irresponsible media coverage

The cable car incident in Kpk province of Pakistan, gripped the whole nation and got attention, not only from the local media, but also from the international media. The incident was horrific, which involved students and a teacher who was stuck in the cable car 900 feet above the ground and hanging in the middle on only one rope, whereas two of the ropes broke. Rescue effort from Pakistan, armed forces, as well as Pakistan air forces sprung into action . However, due to multiple factors the use of helicopter did not prove effective and only one of the students was rescued till the dusk. When the operation was called off due to lack of light it was a time when the locals stepped in and after a few hours efforts, rescued the rest. It was a shocking and tragic experience for those involved. However, Pakistani Media seems to be having a feast in utter disregard to the norms and ethics of the media, Pakistani media as a whole broadcasted, the whole situation live throughout the day there by causing a lot of panic and turning the tragic situation into a media theatrics. There comes a time when News does not remain news, rather becomes secondary to the wishes of the media. And Media gets all the glory. Pakistani media lacks credibility anyway, and questions have been raised about ulterior motives behind such long transmission, without any interruption, causing panic among Pakistani viewers.
