Love your vlogs NorCal! Seems like you played these hands pretty well, just really bad luck to have a good hand like trip 7’s and know it’s a loser. I look forward to your vlogs every week, one of my favorites!
You make some Nitty folds, that said it seems like you’re right to do so. Idk tho. Mucking those QQ with J high, then the set with a street to go was a tough one…
Good fold w Queens. No need to overvalue one pair there. Most people can't make that fold. Better safe than sorry w set of 7s versus the all in w the probable flush. Solid folds.
@@potheadpilot I wish more fish could make such folds. Recently flopped top set in position against a pair of Queens on a very coordinated board that gets worse with each street. He hits his two outer on the river after calling a flop raise and hefty turn bet. Tank calls river.
Graton? Cache creek? Have I missed why you always leave at 2:00? As then graton is probably out as a choose as the commute time would cut into playing time.
Don’t move up stakes until you beat each stake you are currently at for 3 months minimum. Have at least 20 max buy ins for a live cash bankroll. Don’t bluff in $1/2 ever & play a tight range if the rake is big
so with the pocket sevens hand, this is a tough spot. but lets ask some questions. what hand does our opponent most likely doesnt have? that would be a flush because why push u off the hand and lose money unless its a small flush. but in this case, alot of players will semi raise on this board with a flush draw because it probaly favors them more than you. the obvious hand would seem to be a straight here but shoving makes no sense either for the same reason and a straight would want to see the river to make sure he has a chance. the hand i think your opponent had was a set of red sixes. i can see this hand limping in and calling a bet on the turn. of course a shove would make sense on this board giving the flush draw to where you could easily have king or ace of clubs. the same logic for him having two pair here on the turn. so with that being said, it would be a gamble giving u dont have a good price but u do have top set and full house outs and two hands that beat you which i dont think would play this way. so i would have called even though its sucks!
Someone already said it but check out the California Grand in Pacheco, Its just over the Benica bridge from where you're at. I play there when I'm in the bay, it's about 10 minutes from my mom's house. Get there early because the tables will fill up fast. The action is similar to capitol purely based on what I have seen on your channel.
It's not California (I'm local, Carmichael), but the Peppermill in Reno is a great poker destination. Maybe not this run but at 2.5 hours drive is not that far away either. For some new scenery, maybe. Is say it's a little better than Thunder Valley. TV got the big tournament series though which can't be beat until you hit LA.
I can’t help but think that you’re over folding too much. The QQ hand you had to put in $150 win $680. You only need to be good on that call about 1 in 5 times to be profitable. I know you said the player was straight forward but still something to think about. A call there may have given you a break even session or close to it.
Thanks for showing, at least attempting, to show some action at TV. It's probably not much of an issue for the Poker Room itself, but I'd guess Tribal is what really holds back most filming opportunities. Graton seems more willing to allow some filming. Locally, Limelight's occasional 1/3 game has a home game feel with plenty of bomb pot double board PLO degeneracy.
I'm interested in knowing whether you put aside money to play poker with or have built up a bankroll? I would understand not getting an answer as it's a very personal question but if you have built up a br then 30 buyins at your stakes would be c. $30,000. Did that come from online poker? :)
I built up a poker bankroll originally but when I got decent at the game I just kept $10,000 aside specifically for poker & if I go on a bigger downswing than that then I’m in trouble 🤣
When you folded top set with the 7's I would've called that all in bet. If he has you beat at least you have outs going to the river. IMO I think he was semi bluffing I think he had AK AQ possibly KQ with a club, he knew you had a premium hand so when the 6 of clubs came he acted like turned a flush by shoving all in. I could be wrong but too me his play here felt suspicious
Sorry for being 4 months late I've just recently started watching your content as an avid tournament & $1/2 NLH player here in Michigan your content on $1/2 & $1/3 NLH is great
I’m surprised TV would let you chip up over $400. 77 hand is player dependent, but that size overbet with a flush is very odd. My guess is your hand was best, but it’s just a guess 🤷
Me too, I just asked the chip runner for $200 chips & no one said anything so I just went along with it 🤷🏻♂️ And for the 77 hand, I see your point. Against unknown players or action/aggro players I make the call. But this was one of the “scared money” players who plays about an hour before the $35 tournament & constantly counts his winnings/lossss so I was pretty confident in the fold, but ya never know!
Who do you think you are? I am! The last time I was at TV I was able to pick up 5 reds by just picking up the top chip. Your chips look so clean in comparison.
Snap call with trip 7's very odd to way over bet jam seems more like a lower set or a lot of pair and straight draws / flush draws or 2 pairs, beating way too many hands plus 10 outs if he has flush, sorry to say but scared money can't win. However folding is not the worst thing only losing $45.
Definitely not scared money lol just simply the fact that this player played almost any suited hands & low flushes & straights would make this play. This guy wasn’t a bluffer either
@@NorCal_Poker I guess we can agree to disagree, Seems more like smaller pair the way the hand was played limp call $30 with 45 possible but unlikely and I doubt he jams straight when flush is possible, flush possible. For me $300 is not that much so show me and if you have flush the board pairs 20% of the time. I know you have in game reads that I don't, so sometimes it comes down to your gut, if you think he has it and don't want to gamble on the board pairing then it's a fold.
6 minutes, A 3, snap call. Big Blind is just getting out of line. What 5s are in his range? A 5? He's on a diamond draw, you're a favorite. Take your equity and ship it.
Definitely should have min clicked with that set of duces! They probably would have thought weakness an definite call an maybe air makes a move. Especially after folding the trip 7s I would have been tilted an wanted to milk the twos for all I could, I might have even called to keep bluffs in an hope they hit two pair on river an raise then
I see your point. I put them on a flush draw/straight draw & a king so felt I needed to get value before a scare card came & value from those draws. Appreciate the feedback!
