Honestly on my top 3 fav lana albums
1.Ocean Blvd
2.BTD, UV, BB, NFR, CTOCC,HM,LFL.(I Like all of these equally but Ocean Blvd is my savior).
This was one of her most well liked albums. It's sooo cohesive imo and the lyrics r top tierrr. I also like her songs w heavy drums more tho but the psychedelic rock vibe of these songs r greattt. Norman rockwell was an american painter who painted themes of America and it's societal issues. Venice bitch is a fan favourite, and ppl agree that it is NOT too long bc that instrumental is tooo good. LOl in fuck it ily she says "I used to shoot up my veins in neon, shit's even brighter ur gone" which is one of my favourite lines in nfr. Doin time is a sublime cover of summertime", but she does it justiceee:). Cinnamon girl is also a fan favourite, v sad lyrics but very relatable unfortunately, love her use of cinnamon as being something sweet when in reality cinnamon is v bitter, so very symbolic. In 'The greatest" she comes for Kanye bc they used to be friends, but when he became a trump supporter she hated that lmao, valid. Lana originally sung for kim and kanyes wedding! Bartender isnt well liked but it;s one of lana's favs, she performs it a lot. I think the "bar-t-t-ender" sounds like glasses clinking at a bar and i think that's cool. Can't wait for next album reaction!!!

also you're absolutely right about venice b!tch, that song fills you with a psychedelic current! and the greatest is such a hauntingly elegiac commentary about the decline and erosion of our modern culture; thus the title: norman rockwell was a classic american painter showcasing happy and careless sides of America, Lana implies many things have changed since then.

Norman Rockwell was an American painter that painted the American dream but also showed the truth of it and when she was making nfr she was supposed to name the album birds world but then while making it she was what would Norman fucking Rockwell do and well she liked the name and chose it .

Nfr and ocean Blvd are like competing against each other on being her best album because they are so similar but lyrically ocean Blvd is better it’s so sad and depressing but then it gets happy by then end and nfr is the the opposite.
