I honestly think the creators should've played the slow version of familiar at the end scene of Dark instead of "what a wonderful world." Would've hit harder.
It would have been the perfect ending for one of the best story's. What a wonderful world is shorter and more positive even though they know they will disappear. Like Tannerhouse I am well not a clock maker but a watch maker, not for money but a hobby, I find the many different parts therapeutic and when I go to sleep I can hear it's heartbeat, every watch has a different sounding heartbeat. I can't stand quarts tick 1 second then tok the other
@@luked2767 you are missing the fact that the ending was the "happy ending" so it deserved the "happier" song. Also most of the characters didn't actually died (since they are in the real dimension) This song is great tho
@@sonatk2174 I just felt "a wonderful word" was a little out of place as it was not just the 2 of them being erased so many versions of them just started getting erased many of them alone. It was happy they finally broke the cycle but sad as it was the end for them Maybe something German would have been more suitable. Not sure. Still a great show if you put the time in it's well worth the reward.
@@sonatk2174no right or wrong answer, it's possible maybe that song has a different context in Germany, maybe it was just a hint of irony or the fact that for most people they don't think or know they are happy until they loose it and understand that they where happy, most people do this as naturally we always want more. The ending was amazing, maybe I'm strange but I like those types of old endings that are finite and not the usual happy everything, the ending was bittersweet just like life. Maybe a wonderful world was to emphasise the small moments of fleeting happiness and the beauty that's around us everyday that we don't notice until it's too late. I have a bias as I like Agnes Obel and have done for a long time even though it's not my usual type. Many songs could have worked well and you can always overlay one but it was the ending that was really important, It's crazy how I enjoyed the ending to Edgerunners as it was not the same old. Only a handful of people in the world can make a big impact. Most media has always said you can do anything if you can set your mind to it, I loved how it set everyone up for the usual ending to make it come crashing down to the reality that the protagonist was not a hero, he would not even be considered a footnote but it was his story . In some really old films most of the lead characters would die but Hollywood always wants a happy ever after ending now.
