The gift of family, best gift of all. Enjoy your week!!!! Must say though you have great friends and their gifts were very thoughtful. OK your finger knitted blanket is awesome. We all need that hug in a blanket. Felting is super easy but a trial by error for sizing. We' will catch up after your fabulous week coming up. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.. Peace and health for 2024💗
I LOVED your enthusiasm as you opened each gift. ❤ I hope that the ladies who sent them get a chance to watch this. I had to rewind this part @1:06:00 a few times because your hair and expression said, "This is why I don't do vlogmas" at the same volume as your words. If you had young kids they would screenshot it and make a meme out of it. 😉🙂As a fellow Canadian, I love watching your chill personality as you share your amazing makes. I am not a fan of hand knitting and have never tried it, but seeing your white blanket is tempting me to go back and watch your last video where you specified the yarn that you used. 💡 Have a wonderful trip with your family next week and I wish you all the best for 2024 and beyond. 💖😘
My kids have probably made memes of me already🤣🤣. We are a family of laughter so nobody takes offence to funny things even if its at their own expense. Everyone gets a turn at being picked on at one point or other. As for the blanket, you don't have to go back and watch that video....I used Bernat Blanket Big. It really is super easy once you get the hang of it. Just remember to make the chain bigger . Find a good tutorial and you will be amazed at how quickly you end up with a blanket. I am currently obsessed with a channel called "Play Hooky With Me". She has quite a few finger knit videos (among other things).
Thank you, Love! You are such a sweetheart. 😘 I’m assuming that you’re saying to make the initial chain looser than the rest of the stitches. I love that y’all don’t take things to heart and just enjoy the moments. If they make that meme, please don’t forget to share it with us. 😉

I watched the whole video. I loved all the precious gifts! I decided my favorite was the extendable fist you can use to hit people with while you are counting stitches!!🤣🤣🤣 That was hilarious! Every crocheter and knitter needs one of those! I hope you and your family have a fantastic time together. Be careful and have a safe trip. I have done small Tunisian things. There is a stitch that doesn't curl called the honeycomb stitch. I don't think I will be doing it for anything big. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year and happy family holiday with the family! I absolutely love your planner! All your other swap gifts were wonderful as well. Can’t wait to see what lovely creations you make with all the gifts!
Hi Debbie, Happy New Year to you and your family. What wonderful gifts to spoil you from your friends. You lucky girl! Hahaha had to laugh at the "I don't do Vlogmas" part. I do hope your throat is doing better now and it wasn't anything too nasty. You have certainly been busy not just with Christmas prep but your crafting, I am super impressed. Don't give up on the Tunisian, I think it is lovely although I have only made one thing and am not good at it I do enjoy it. With the finger knitting, can you tell me what yarn you used. I live in Australia and am not sure what yarn to use. Those blankets would be great quick knit gifts, and I'm all for that.
Happy Holiday and have a great new year! I may not be podcasting, but I still watch you and your antics!!! I love your enterlac blanket, but you're right, faster to crochet or knit. Hope to chat soon! Enjoy the chalet with the kids. Rosie
Loved your video! Try Toni from tl yarn crafts before you give up Tunisian as she is amazing! There are so many stitches you can learn! Have a great New Year! The pop punch thing is for counting stitches or rows when crocheting or knitting!

I really enjoyed watching open all your gifts. Such lovely friends. I've made a few projects with the Colorama Halo yarn. I love working with it. If you have a knitting machine (like an Addi) that yarn works well. FYI, the popping toy also works well as a row counter (just write the numbers on it).
Hi Debbie Merry Christmas to you and your family and best wishes for the new year. I really enjoyed the videos, thanks for sharing all your wonderful gifts, the fidget popper can also be used asa row counter. Hope your hubby is better now and you don't get sick. Take carebest wishes from the UK 🇬🇧 😊🤗
Oh everything was so amazing!! Cant wait to see all you make, those gifts can keep you busy all year😂. Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy and prosperous New Year!❤
Thanks for the well wishes...believe it or not, hubby is still not 100%. He still gets tired easily and he still has a cough. I am hoping that it clears up soon
Wow! That hand knitted blanket looks amazing! I can’t believe you can get that done so quickly! I’m not a Tunisian person either. I agree it’s much slower & the rolling 🙃 It also hurts my arm more than regular crochet so I have to pass. Those swaps were super fun to see! Great gifts all around! I don’t know what I was thinking or what craft you had out a few years back that I mistook for punch needle 😂 Got several rows done on my shawl while watching. Fun video! Enjoy your parties & family getaway! Happy New Year my friend! ❤🥂🤗
I love the blankets! Before you give up on Tunisian because of the curling problem I would recommend the modified simple stitch. The Crochet Crowd has a short tutorial on it. Also there are many Tunisian stitches that are less curly. Just a thought. I am going to make that Tunisian blanket. I have done entrelac and yes you have all those ends to weave in. I love this idea.
Merry Christmas !! I love that blanket, it looks so warm. You were really blessed this year. I was sick all Christmas so it was pretty quiet but still a great time. Want to wish you and your family a happy new year and enjoy the holiday.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year amazing gifts loved all the projects to help you grow your skills and the small tools that will help you on your way. If you don't mind me asking what yarn did you use for the finger knit blanket
The guy that makes the buttons takes branches from a wide variety of trees & cuts across the limbs to make his buttons in different sizes. After I sent those I found some other buttons that are even bigger. If you can use them I will send them.
Ohhh....that blanket is lovely!! Tunisian does curl. There are ways to lessen the curl but it's just the nature of the technique. You're not wrong on it also being time-consuming. I like doing it but MAN it takes forever to get a project done.
@@CanadianCrocheter It's like "wax on/wax off" and not in a fun way, lol. I'm still going to try it but that will be a "work on it from time to time" project. The process also bothers my wrist the longer I do it. I have to get Tunisian hooks with a comfort grip.
Thank you. I just read a few other comments saying the same thing. I said that is why I love this community. You all are so insightful and helpful!! I didn't even think of using it as a row counter. Fabulous idea. Thank you so much
Tunisian isn't for me, either. Not just the curling but the slow, knit-like progress. Not much fun picking up stitches then working them off. I made 2 scarves with tunisian lace, they took so long. The curl wouldn't block. It was frustrating!
yes, it was a sewing pattern. Really easy. I used the video here on TH-cam from a channel called Sew Yeah. Here is the link if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/PXN6XUgeqCw/w-d-xo.html
You used a much to small a hook for the tunesian! Typical beginner error! 😘 Rule of thumb is to go up at least two sizes from whats recommended on the yarn, but depending on the yarn and project, you can often double the size hook. You're basically weaving double yarn into the stitches, so if you let the yarn breathe it becomes flowy, soft and doesn't roll at all...😊 I've made shawls with an 7mm hook and sock yarn, 8mm and sports weight, and they take me 2-3 days to finish, and with handdyed or colour changing yarn, it can create the most beautiful 'woven' and warm fabric. Try again ❤ But this time make a swatch on the first 10 stitches in the start. Make 5 or 6 rows to see how it fills out, to decide the size of hook you need... 😊
@@CanadianCrocheter I'm glad you could use it ❤️ It actually goes very fast (especially simple stitch) because you can use a much bigger hook - and the stitches are easy to see 😏 You just got the sock yarn, a suggestion could be to make a simple triangle shawl with a 7mm hook, start with 3 stitches, and just add 1 in the start of each row... just in case you're having fun, stop at the size of a baby blanket, make another triangle, and join them in the middle with a crochet chain 😊 Have a wonderful new year ❤️
I have to say, every time you mentioned your father in law's main squeeze,I thought to myself, does that mean he has others? Lol not being nosy it was just in the wording.
Looking forward to 2024 and the wonderful things you will create with those fabulous gifts!

I’m out in Alberta, but you can get Guelph Soap in the Natural Value section of my Superstore, so if you have a Zehrs nearby you might find it there.
Thank you so much for the info😊
Awsome I love all the gift swap 😊
Thanks so much for stopping by😊
I really enjoyed watching open all your gifts. Such lovely friends.
I've made a few projects with the Colorama Halo yarn. I love working with it. If you have a knitting machine (like an Addi) that yarn works well.
FYI, the popping toy also works well as a row counter (just write the numbers on it).
Awesome idea!! I might just have to try it in the knitting machine. Thanks
Hi Deb. Good to see you. Happy New Year!

Thanks for the well wishes...believe it or not, hubby is still not 100%. He still gets tired easily and he still has a cough. I am hoping that it clears up soon

Great idea!! Thanks so much

😂 teeth and fingers were around long before scissors.
Exactly!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣

And thank you for stopping by. I am glad you enjoyed the video. Wishing you a healthy and prosperous 2024❤️❤️
Maybe punch needle is in my future😁😁
you should try the finger knitting...there is a curve but you learn quickly
I enjoyed watching you open all your packages. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much😊
Nice blankets,Debbie! Loved all the cool gifts! Happy New Year!
Thanks so much. Happy New Year to you as well😊
Love the popper, I got it to row count....love it!! Merry Christmas
yes....a few others have suggested that. Thank you so much because I didn't even think of that. Fabulous idea! Thank you
Happy new years
Thank you and wishing you all the best in 2024😊
Great gifts.love the big bulky white blanket. Happy new year.
Thanks so much and a very Happy New Year to you as well
Happy New Year
Thank you beautiful!!!! Wishing you and yours all the best that 2024 could possibly bring
Happy New Year Deb and family. I hope we'll hear all about your Christmas at the chalet with your family.
Thank you and I will try to remember to take a video and show it😊
I love the blankets!
Thanks for the advice!! I hope you enjoy the modified entrelac
Merry Christmas !! I love that blanket, it looks so warm. You were really blessed this year. I was sick all Christmas so it was pretty quiet but still a great time. Want to wish you and your family a happy new year and enjoy the holiday.
Thanks so much. We must make a coffee date again soon
@@CanadianCrocheter Sounds great.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year amazing gifts loved all the projects to help you grow your skills and the small tools that will help you on your way. If you don't mind me asking what yarn did you use for the finger knit blanket
Thank you so much.
I used Bernat Blanket Big for the finger knitting
The guy that makes the buttons takes branches from a wide variety of trees & cuts across the limbs to make his buttons in different sizes.
After I sent those I found some other buttons that are even bigger. If you can use them I will send them.
Thank you so much Judy. Please send me an email and we can discuss it
Happy New Year’s Debbie to you and hubby
Happy Holidays
Thank you and I wish for a wonderful 2024 for you😊
You use one or two hook sizes larger helps with the curling
Awesome! Thanks for the advice
Happy Holidays 🎄
Thank you😊
Ohhh....that blanket is lovely!! Tunisian does curl. There are ways to lessen the curl but it's just the nature of the technique. You're not wrong on it also being time-consuming. I like doing it but MAN it takes forever to get a project done.
thank goodness you understand my frustrations. I thought I was the only one who thinks that you are doing are row twice
@@CanadianCrocheter It's like "wax on/wax off" and not in a fun way, lol. I'm still going to try it but that will be a "work on it from time to time" project. The process also bothers my wrist the longer I do it. I have to get Tunisian hooks with a comfort grip.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! The fidget popper thing can be used as a rown counter.... I am assuming that was the purpose 😊
It was frustrating!
ahhh....so you understand my frustrations😁
Yay guess what?
Mb stopped in again😂
I think that last gadget is a row counter?
yes, I think you are correct. Thanks
That last blanket you finger knit?
It sure is😁
I also had the same problem with my Tunisian curling. I am not a fan of Tunisian. I got very board with it.
You and me both🤣🤣
Hi deb what is the name of the coffee you got would like to try them thank ypu
It is from Muskoka Coffee Co. I haven't had a chance to try that coffee yet but I am sure it will be great
wonder what stocking pattern did u use, a sewing one?
yes, it was a sewing pattern. Really easy. I used the video here on TH-cam from a channel called Sew Yeah. Here is the link if you are interested:
th-cam.com/video/PXN6XUgeqCw/w-d-xo.html
You used a much to small a hook for the tunesian! Typical beginner error! 😘
Rule of thumb is to go up at least two sizes from whats recommended on the yarn, but depending on the yarn and project, you can often double the size hook. You're basically weaving double yarn into the stitches, so if you let the yarn breathe it becomes flowy, soft and doesn't roll at all...😊
I've made shawls with an 7mm hook and sock yarn, 8mm and sports weight, and they take me 2-3 days to finish, and with handdyed or colour changing yarn, it can create the most beautiful 'woven' and warm fabric.
Try again ❤
But this time make a swatch on the first 10 stitches in the start. Make 5 or 6 rows to see how it fills out, to decide the size of hook you need... 😊
fabulous suggestions!!! Thank you so very much. I will try what you have said
@@CanadianCrocheter I'm glad you could use it ❤️ It actually goes very fast (especially simple stitch) because you can use a much bigger hook - and the stitches are easy to see 😏
You just got the sock yarn, a suggestion could be to make a simple triangle shawl with a 7mm hook, start with 3 stitches, and just add 1 in the start of each row... just in case you're having fun, stop at the size of a baby blanket, make another triangle, and join them in the middle with a crochet chain 😊
Have a wonderful new year ❤️
I have to say, every time you mentioned your father in law's main squeeze,I thought to myself, does that mean he has others? Lol not being nosy it was just in the wording.
🤣🤣🤣Its his only squeeze. I guess I should clarify better. Although I am sure he wouldn't mind being thought of as a player🤣🤣🤣🤣
😅😅😅 planner
right??!!! It is fabulous!!
Sorry I can't stick around 😢
no problem at all😊
