The Secret Garden by Quincy Jones, James Ingram, Barry White, El DeBarge, and AL B. Sure is a timeless classic
Yes, I love that song. There is a remake out that I refused to give a chance, but I gave in. They did the original proud.
Can’t forget Howard Hewitt and Christopher Williams (they have the best verses to mee other than Barry of course) one of my all time favorite rb songs

Absolutely love James Ingram's music. He had a strong sultry voice. So many classics. Secret Garden will never get old❤💯
Don't forget two songs for James's performance on Soul Train in 1983 "Party Animal" and "She Loves Me (The Best That I Can Be)"
Michael McDonald is very much alive and kickin'. He just turned 71 on Feb. 12. I saw MM at a show he did in Modesto, CA about six years ago and he did not disappoint!💯
@@Conversationswithdee MM & the beach boys ? dam that's too much heat for one stage. Two totally different eras but surely greatness
Michael McDonald is the Eminem of of RnB and ain't noway around that fact..
This episode just hitting me different because I kid you not I follow his son and just yesterday I was telling him how much I miss his father. James is one of the greatest songwriters I've ever heard. I still think Baby Come To Me is one of the most beautiful songs ever made. He was a huge part of my musical upbringing and I truly do miss him 🙏🏾

I remember listening to him and Patti Austin sanging Baby Come To Me as a little girl in the 80s. His range and vocals were gospel rooted for real. He’s underrated in a major way. Didn’t know he wrote P.Y.T. Love that song. LaToya sang back up on that song. Thank you for featuring him and taking the time to research his life. Much appreciated.❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you for doing this one, Man!! ❤️My all-time favorite male vocalist. Nobody, I mean Nobody could sing like James Ingram. He would have me shaking my head like, how did he do that with his voice?! The other thing I loved about him was that he was so family oriented. I heard him say once he didn't tour a lot because he wanted to be there for his wife and kids! What a good guy, a true gentleman! Love and Miss him. RIP Mr. Ingram ❤️🙏🏽
If you listen to all of the talent that was on the "we are the world" record and the video, James's voice is by far the most powerful voice of them all, I have always loved James's music, another great performance by him is a TH-cam video of him and Tamia, singing "How do you keep the music playing", hosted by Robert Townsend. Thank you for doing this show💖
Yes, you're absolutely right! I hear James high pitched vocals on We Are The World! When I heard that song today it makes cry and I het goosebumps! The spring of 1985! Wow! I miss James! I still listen to his sultry vocals! ❤❤❤❤❤❤💋💋💋💋

I am old enough to be his daughter but I have always loved his music and he had such a unique voice and he accomplished so much thank you for doing this story, there’s a lot I did not know about him I thought he was just a singer I didn’t know he was an all-around talent
Right on time....💞💝. I was looking for something to watch and you were there. James Ingram was a talented man and I pray he is resting in paradise 💗
One of the best….his voice was almost missed because he was a musician (or so he thought) ❤️
This is one of the videos i have been waiting for thank you so much. Can we please get stories on Jesse Powell, Reggie Warren, Tommy Debarge, Anita Pointer, Dennis D. T. Thomas, Issac Hayes, Joyce Sims & B. Smyth?
So many artists came from Ohio such as Zapp, Levert, James Ingram, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, Men at Large, the Rude Boys, MO Thugs Family, Bow Wow and many more!!!
Howard Hewitt and Avant, you right Ohio has a long lost of musical talent.
I loved his voice. He could hit those high notes then in the next bar drop it down real low. A great talent that WILL be missed.
Thank for telling his story.
He was a family friend of ours. It messed me up when he passed. Back in 2010 , he just called my aunt and just sang to her. Very touching, her husband and her son passed a week apart, that was a depressing time Wooo what a time that was, but we making it, one day at time!! Akron Ohio, All Day, One Love, RIP James Much, MUCH LOVE!! One of my loved ones was singing with him but drugs interfered on what it couldve been, but my dude been clean for almost 20 years so thats great for that to workout. From Me, My family to you, Much Love, Love you!!
You touched my heart with this one. Thank you for reminding us how much he contributed to music. Not to mention he was so handsome and always a gentleman ❤️

One of my absolute favorite artists,an unbelievable talent. Thank you for this video.
James Ingram is definitely missed and loved....truly a talented brother gone too soon....thank you for uploading this 💜💜💜
Here's a random fact: Jaimee Foxxworth AKA Judy Winslow from Family Matters appeared in Quincy Jones' Tomorrow video as one of the kids in the choir
Here's a fact: She was also in a singing group called S.H.E. with her two sisters.
They should have used this for her character on the show but Urkel mania took over.
Both him and his brother Phil were so handsome. Philip had such beautiful hair
@@aiden877 Hmm, a singing Winslow. They probably would've had her duet with Rachel in the years before Eddie started sangin.' Lol
Another excellent episode 🏆.
I can not believe James Ingram thought his voice was bad. He great singing voice.
On of the most manly voices ever and one of my all time favorites that never got to props he deserved one of the greatest to ever do it
"Baby Come To Me" is one of my favorite. I always thought that Michael Jackson singing that song with James Ingram, but I discovered that it was Patti Austin.

REST IN PEACE JAMES INGRAM 🕊️😇 💜❤️
He died in the same year as Melvin Edmonds, Nathaniel Taylor and Nipsey Hussle
*You forgot about the smash hit "100 Ways", which came out in 1987.*
My favorite James Ingram song was pretty young thing and secret graded two of my favorites songs from him and still playing on every radio station aslo on TH-cam and old school 📺
Thank you for taking the time to carefully give the timeline of this musical genius. Time is inevitable and we have to embrace those moments. James was a guy I played every chance I could due to the melodic sounds of how he brought the song to a reality. As a DJ I was very personable with artist creativity and talent. We are losing our legends so rapidly that I feel we should embrace every moment with them whether in a song on the radio or next to them on the couch. We know they are our history to embrace forevermore!!
RIP James Ingram 😢❤️ one of my favorite singers
The best music was in the 70's, 80's and 90's. After that it went way down hill.

Appreciate you brother you get a solid on James Ingram 💕💯☺️, how do you know he wrote all the songs, a phenomenal voice and wonderful spirit. Thank you so much for sharing☺️💕
All American music is Black music. Let's not forget that African Americans are the creators of Rock, Country, Blues, Jazz, EDM/House, etc. These genres were stolen and white washed and African American artist are marginalized to Urban categories of music to perpetuate negative stereotypes surrounding the African American community. Additionally, Pop simply means "Popular" however Pop music has been synonymous with whiteness while Black has been associated with "Urban" even though Blacks created every genre of music in America. Just because you are Black, that does not mean that you are "R&B". All music is Black music. White America has wrongfully stolen and white washed everything. Even the Latin categories are white washed with white Latinos even though Afro Latinos created every Latin genre of music from Salsa to Reggaeton 😑😑😑😑😑
Heyy, Ty CU, I never knew he was the brother of Phil from "Switch" I love "Switch" I truly enjoy ur content on all of these celebrities, I adored JI, He was indeed a great singer/songwriter, Continue to RIHP JI🕯🕊🌹✌🏽
His voice was insane. May he rest in peace. What a legend underrated and all. I can't fathom why he thought he wasn't a singer because he was one of the greatest. That hoo hoo hoo on on We are the world is one of my favorite ad libs.

Great, video my brother. I'm glad you started throwing videos along with the story 💪🏿. Can I please get that Dr. Khalid Muhammad video. Keep up the great work.
That he thought he wasn't a singer is just mind blowing - I mean, that's insane. I loved this guy's voice....thought he had one of the best voices, ever. I was thinking, "I'll bet he was about my age - so sad he's gone." He was born 6 days after me since his birthday was February16th 1952. I just wish he had recorded more, wish he was still around to record. Rest in peace, James. Thanks a lot for this video.
I love your research man 👍🏿
