there is just a small chance of the item turning into a unique and keeping its implicit

I might be wrong, but I think it depends on the outcome of the rarity of the item you want. Unique jewels now are all T1 rarity so last league when I mythic 50 of them only one of them turned into a unique jewel.
Fractal Thoughts are not that rare tho, probably just unlucky.

How do you do to see fractured state on awakened Poe trade ? When I check with it the fractured line appears as a normal one
