None. Go for a Mazda CX 60, Hyundai Kona (or Santa Fe if you want something bigger), Toyata Rav4 (or Hailander if you nedd something more spacious). Better cars, better realiability and better Price/Quality ratio.

@@autogefuehl Awesome, and thank you very much, will give that a watch! I am in the market for a 2021 A5 S-line, admittedly a coupe but would still like to hear what you have to say about the saloon version vs other Audi options :)

Great review as usual, with attention to details and calming presentation style! Thank you both for your efforts and keep it up! I noticed you showed there's no felt material in the door bins, which made me wonder: did you get the chance to see if the side windows are double-glazed or not? Those make a non-negligible difference in terms of heat and noise insulation, and the class/size/group sibling (the Tiguan) has those - as you mentioned in that review. Also the extra-laminated windscreen with heating (optional) on Tiguan would be nice to have on Terramar also, since it offers a lot of sun protection in the summer, but it's not even optional at Cupra. How did you find the overall soundproofing in the Terramar? Is it closer to Tiguan or rather more like the Formentor? It's easily understandable why the Fromentor would feel sportier by comparison, since the last VZ you reviewed (the facelift) had the 333HP 2.0 TSI and it is about 150 kg lighter compared to the Terramar. I'm also on the same page with you on one of your last remarks: I like the Tiguan package&practicality, but not too much it's esthetics. Not to mention the excess of glossy (piano) black they've used in the interior - which makes the Terramar interior a much more pleasant place to be.
Thank you again for the detail. What strikes me about the inside is just how alike it is to every other VW/Audi brand using this platform. As with Skoda, Cupra have done their best to make the UI/UX work with buttons and other style cues. What really lets both brands down, which is VW/Audi’s fault, is the awful iPad on the dashboard with the incompetent touch screen and terrible software. Having heard the pricing, it is not conceivably worth the money for such mediocrity. What would you have instead of this? Something from Alfa, Mini, or Smart; maybe even a low end BMW 1 of some kind.
@@autogefuehl Yes I think BMW are getting the market offers of both cars and price more than most in Europe. You might want to look again at what France and Italy are doing with Renault and Stellantis.
Lovely car, currently driving a 2.0tsi Ateca. One thing I’m not sure is whether it is possible to have the non bulky seats. My wife isn’t that big and she may find these seats not nice to sit on. Other than that it does look like a nice car.
Have you ever thought of putting a warning sign on the back of the car during reviews? Something like: "We're recording a car review. Please don't mind random lane changes and rapid accelerations"
take this styling and interior trim, grab vz5 engine and throw all together in a4 type of karavan for half of the price of audi s/rs line. done and done..
Drove the Cupra Formentor, nothing worth in this car to be in even near premium segment. Interior quality is very low, switches not even lighted in the dark, easy to miss, terrible multimedia system, the whole car is a rushed up mess. Automatic gear is a mess at low speed, and etc. From the outside it might be nice that is subjective, but from the usable point of view I would avoid it.
It isn't in the near premium segment, it is cheap car in particular when being leased, exactly for those who don't want to sell body parts to be able to drive
@@renitur2292 A lot cheaper than "premium" brands which it was called above, it is not premium so a lot cheaper and also no premium feel. But a ok feel and good looks, there may be better alternatives but most are less good looking.
They put the list price high and have more margin than Seat, but then again offer cheap leasing deals for the Formentor so you think you get a more expensive vehicle at a decent price
Better looking than the Tiguan...but...that big stuck on screen looks cheap. Integrate it into the dash...and bring back buttons, swivel wheel and knobs.
5:25 Hey, well since u asked. :) I have zero intent to be negative about this topic but I will be honest. :) Imo "fake exaust tips" or exaust outlets that are hidden and pointed downwards to exaust into asphalt/road are better in multiple ways. :) Well, we know corporations do that for saving measures although it doesn't make our car cheaper but this way we have to worry less about maintenance in therms of cleaning, protection from water going in during car wash and on top of all exaust fume particles are being caught up on asphalt when exaust is directed toward it. Not 100% of them but vast amount by some studies published now probably around 10 years ago. Ofc I doubt corpos even care about it (they save on this aproach - earn more) but for us it is more beneficial. Thing is tyres catch some from asphalt but that's the case anyways etc. Majority stays on surface cause it has oil in a form with it and it reacts with particles. This isn't my profession not closely so I only tried explaining it simple ways. I think the point is clear. When it comes to esthetics, I guess it's individual. I personally would rather hear something practical concerning presented car than a comment regarding exaust tip as I can see it. What's the fucntional aspect that could replace it? Since it's cupra I'll give u an example I bare in mind since I checked new Formentor. Not all versions have multilink at the back. It would be beneficial to hear which ones have and which ones don't as it's far more important than exaust tips. Also if there's a separate package for bad roads in offer, or package for lower NVH value etc.
Followers of Autogefühl, I am looking for buying a new car. I could buy a second hand mint condition DS4 diesel, or new Corolla HB Hybrid or new Cupra Leon 1.5 etsi? Their prices are almost same. Which one would you suggest ?
People, after I had the luck to be the owner and daily user of more than 15 cars in the last 20 years I would tell you this. Stay away from any european car made in the last 8 years. Price/Quality is awful, scarse quality in the first place. The cars will look good and funtion well for about 9 to 12 months and then the waterfall of probems will begin. Overpriced junk made by the same companies (VW makes Seat, Audi, Skoda, Cupra, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bugatti and even Ducati and some heavy truck companies like Scania and MAN). Same junky cars repackaged and hidden under differend "clothes". The same goes for the Stellantis group and for Mercedes and BMW. They think that by putting 3 or 4 touch screens in a car and making a nice steering wheel means they manufacture a good car. They are impractical, smaller yet far more expensive than their Japanese, American or Korean counterparts, less reliable, more expensive to maintain, not as economical as they claim to be and not better looking either. Go Japanese or Korean first if you want something new. Go
Can someone explain to me why Volkswagen makes the same (basically) car in four (or more?) versions? I'm referring to cupra, skoda, Volkswagen and Audi. Same tech, motor, battery etc just different looks and fabric choices.
you cover more of the market. Imagine going to the supermarket and you find 5 products, turns out 4 of those are from the same company. Chance you buying one of the 4 out of the 5 is higher.
It's meaningless having already a Best Seller like Cupra Formentor and also making another "Sports SUV" like Terramar in the line ⁉️ Also more expensive than 100% EV Cupra Tavascan 🤔 This is BORING CUPRA !! 🤮
Q5 has completely different platform (MLB), while Tiguan is on MQB Evo platform. There is a huge difference in the AWD system, suspension, transmission and available engines in both platforms. Tiguan shares more tech with Q3 than with Q5. The only similarity with Q5 is the size, but the market segments are different.
What's the point of this car? It's just a formentor, plus there's nothing new. I'm tired of vag using the same 2ltr engine in EVERY car they build. Why don't they put the rs3 engine in it..or the 3ltr sq5 engine in it.
It's not a formentor, just look at the tech, inside materials. Formentor it's cheap budget wise while terramar looks to be mid-premium, exactly like a q3 :)
No need to say it is a superb car. But, obviously a little too expensive. But, it seems that car producers have a virus: they tend to become building architects. They want to make cars taller and taller, bun shorter. Like a skyscraper, they rise on height, but cars are smaller and smaller. WHY!!??! In the good old days, americans were producing reald SUVs, pickups, trucks and so on. They needed big cars, they had a lot of gasoline, they had a lot of wildness and ranches. But what is the stupid reason for which everyone like small and tall SUVs? I understand, some want to be taller, to have if bigger and so on. But when everybody will have SUVs, I guess we will move back to sedans. So, I understand if you want a big car to go to your ranch in the wildness, but not to drive it in mega congestion cities. And especially ICE cars. They should be forbidden in cities.
@@Sipu79 The Terramar doesn't come with the 310hp engine, and both the Tiguan and upcoming Q3 will have more powertrain ( and body ) options, at a similar price point ( it's not cheap ) That new Q3 will look A LOT like the Terramar from the side as well. So it won't even be that distinctive when it comes to looks.

thanks so much my friend !
That badge reminds me of knitting needles!
Thank you so much! Please recommend / share our channel and our videos 🙏
More comparable to Tiguan!
@@autogefuehl I do actually, quite often!
The car takes the name from a former racing circuit, the Terramar autodrome, but it is less sporting than the Formentor. Curious, but I like it.
BMW X1 sometimes even has better offers now I heard
@@autogefuehl
Yes I think BMW are getting the market offers of both cars and price more than most in Europe. You might want to look again at what France and Italy are doing with Renault and Stellantis.
It's interesting that this cupra aggressive styling is so much liked by women's.
Hi, Thomas I was surprised by the American people who made the new Cupra Terramar VZ 2025!
hey! Sorry what you mean m8?
@@autogefuehl ok
Lovely car, currently driving a 2.0tsi Ateca. One thing I’m not sure is whether it is possible to have the non bulky seats. My wife isn’t that big and she may find these seats not nice to sit on. Other than that it does look like a nice car.
just these
I prefer door pockets made of plastic and not covered in fabric, if they get dirty, they are easier to clean, they are more hygienic that way
I use the small room on the glowcompartment for sunglases in my formentor. And have you seen the Tarramar in Cosmos blue..
I will never own a Seat again after owning one currently for 5 years, it's crap altogether.
tell us about the experience!
Oh no Thomas said Nintendo , I hope they dont sue you bud
lol they do that?
17:06 a fellow Tolkienian, I see. :)
Gondor was calling for help so I had to answer
From all the reviews from Thomas, i would gladly buy (not lease) the new lexus NX...
Have you ever thought of putting a warning sign on the back of the car during reviews? Something like:
"We're recording a car review. Please don't mind random lane changes and rapid accelerations"
That is normal driving behaviour in many of the countries in which Thomas conducts his test drives!!
I guess that would also attract police ;-)
Thomas is it as noisy in the cabin as it sounds
I did comment on that!
The rear looks like a sporty Vinfast, or the Vinfast looks like a Cupra? 🤔
Hello Thomas! Highly apreciate yout videos! How is it in comparison with Tiguan in terma of confort, noise insulation and ride quality? Thanks!
cheers ! Did you watch this video full length?
take this styling and interior trim, grab vz5 engine and throw all together in a4 type of karavan for half of the price of audi s/rs line. done and done..
What’s going on with European cars? My Honda civic got more space in the back seat compared to this SUV.
Then, there are many better options for better value
@@PerJohansson-Xeizoit's not cheap in anyway
@@renitur2292 A lot cheaper than "premium" brands which it was called above, it is not premium so a lot cheaper and also no premium feel. But a ok feel and good looks, there may be better alternatives but most are less good looking.
Haha 😂 Like the title "Souron's Tiguan". Evil looking SUV indeed.
It is a good looking vehicle.
The big question is, who will buy these guite expensive Seat cars? Hard to see the possibilities of success🤔
The Germans have embraced Cupra and the Formentor sold very well in Europe.
They put the list price high and have more margin than Seat, but then again offer cheap leasing deals for the Formentor so you think you get a more expensive vehicle at a decent price
Nice car ! Very Nice ! Except the hood and the door handle s
Hmm good question, their main point of fake exhaust is pure design, thats it. So from a manufacturers view, it has always about the visual part.
VW claiming they need to cut costs, yet releases another car which they already 5 versions of. (Q3, Tiguan, Karoq, Kodiaq, Ateca)
Followers of Autogefühl, I am looking for buying a new car. I could buy a second hand mint condition DS4 diesel, or new Corolla HB Hybrid or new Cupra Leon 1.5 etsi? Their prices are almost same. Which one would you suggest ?
Best driving fun: Leon. Best for reliability to buy and keep: Corolla
Is Seat alive? Haven't heard about this brand for a while
still alive but no new products
Go
If they would offer it with plugin awd i would order it immediately, but looks like i need to wait for q3 and then choose it or x1.
I hope Cupra will release the Tarraco successor soon. Terramar is too small, I need a good looking 7-seater.
more news on our channel very soon - stay tuned!
@@autogefuehl Well well well, is that Cupra didn't say the last word about their lineup yet and you know something more? :>
Not specifically Cupra, but you ll see soon :)
@@autogefuehl I hope it is good looking, not like Kodiaq 2 :P
Tayron!
Looks awesome 🎉
a teenage crossover.
Interior Peugeot alike
German humor..funny like eating a wet carbon box 📦 as dinner 🍽️ 😤
Sauron, currently in the form of Putin, doesn't drive Cupra. Due to sanctions, maybe.
Interesting designing tho
It's meaningless having already a Best Seller like Cupra Formentor and also making another "Sports SUV" like Terramar in the line ⁉️ Also more expensive than 100% EV Cupra Tavascan 🤔 This is BORING CUPRA !! 🤮
Shame Tiguan doest offer those brakes even in R model...
We need a Cupra TUMACA 🍅
Isn't the Tiguan the corresponded for Q5?
Sizewise yes, but techwise Q5 is not MQB platform.
Q3
The Tiguan is for sure more comparable to the Q5. It’s a direct alternative from the same group
@36:12 this car pathetically tries to look beefier than it is - top 10 cm of engine bay is simply empty because all the same parts fit in the Golf...
Hey Thomas but inside outside formentor vz much better space and sport aggressive stability flat smooth i love more formentor vz top of cupra
Traditional automakers are the history
Chinese and Tesla are the future
Is the PHEV VZ version AWD or only FWD?
PHEV FWD only
@@autogefuehl very bad, thanks!
@@glebpalchin6809 this is valid for almost all the vehicle in this category, starting with Q5/X3/GLC you have PHEV AWD :)
@@MrRobi10 , yes, but I don't like those, none of them
Seems like the only option is a DS7 Etense 4x4
@@glebpalchin6809 ds7 it's not am option, at least for me :) it's big indeed, really expensive, but it's just a fancy citroen, nothing more..
Very beatiful car one of the best options.
What's the point of this car? It's just a formentor, plus there's nothing new. I'm tired of vag using the same 2ltr engine in EVERY car they build. Why don't they put the rs3 engine in it..or the 3ltr sq5 engine in it.
it's rather a Tiguan than a Formentor
It's not a formentor, just look at the tech, inside materials. Formentor it's cheap budget wise while terramar looks to be mid-premium, exactly like a q3 :)
60k € for Seat😂😂 yeah right..
Absurd and annoying "novelties" ranking:
1. Fake exhaust
2. Artificial exhaust sound
3. Tablet resting on the dashboard
Take notes, volkswagen
From Volkswagen?
It is a VW..
Totally!!…….VW ought to send their designers on a training course to CUPRA!
Your hair looks great. Those that say fix it, I'll bet are bald.
😅
Too expensive....
Suspension 10mm = 1cm. It's a joke!
A circus on wheels, but VW has been offering just that for the last 10 years. Mechanics still from the last century.
Sauron 🤯
Fake exhaust are embarrassing
No idea why you'd buy one of these over any of its siblings, or any other car for that matter.
Starting to look like Cupra is a one hit wonder brand.
more bang for buck than any of it's siblings in a more exciting package? the 310hp formentor VZ is quick and fun to drive and has a 5 year warranty.
@@Sipu79 The Terramar doesn't come with the 310hp engine, and both the Tiguan and upcoming Q3 will have more powertrain ( and body ) options, at a similar price point ( it's not cheap )
That new Q3 will look A LOT like the Terramar from the side as well. So it won't even be that distinctive when it comes to looks.
Good review for an absolutely boring "just another SUV with optionally powerful engine" car.
thanks keep recommending us!
Apple Watch is the key point 😂
The Tiguan enter to much in the Audi design
Cupra.. blehg 🥴
Not a bad car, but done with clay colors 😢.
