Great review as usual, with attention to details and calming presentation style! Thank you both for your efforts and keep it up! I noticed you showed there's no felt material in the door bins, which made me wonder: did you get the chance to see if the side windows are double-glazed or not? Those make a non-negligible difference in terms of heat and noise insulation, and the class/size/group sibling (the Tiguan) has those - as you mentioned in that review. Also the extra-laminated windscreen with heating (optional) on Tiguan would be nice to have on Terramar also, since it offers a lot of sun protection in the summer, but it's not even optional at Cupra. How did you find the overall soundproofing in the Terramar? Is it closer to Tiguan or rather more like the Formentor? It's easily understandable why the Fromentor would feel sportier by comparison, since the last VZ you reviewed (the facelift) had the 333HP 2.0 TSI and it is about 150 kg lighter compared to the Terramar. I'm also on the same page with you on one of your last remarks: I like the Tiguan package&practicality, but not too much it's esthetics. Not to mention the excess of glossy (piano) black they've used in the interior - which makes the Terramar interior a much more pleasant place to be.
60k Hyundai, 60k Kia, 60k Seat, 60k Mazda, What's next Jesus Christ? These companies are taking the P!$$ Anf why are car manufacturers putting ambient lights on the dashboard? That would be soo distracting at night 😮😂
Great work again L&T. I like the styling but I like the Peugeot 3008 even more. And a BMW X1 will probably be cheaper to lease. The competition is tough!
No way bmw x1 is cheaper in neither price nor lease. Silmilar version of x1 is 10k euro more, also in countires with VWFS lease will aslo be cheaper on Curpa.
I've had the 3008 Hybrid4 since late 2021. Yes 300bhp/500nm is nice and fast (in a straight line) and surprises most other drivers, a 300bhp 3008 isnt expected.. BUT when it works! In the last year it's been off the road for just OVER 5 months being 'fixed' for numerous issues. VERY unreliable in the past year, mainly battery issues, Traction AND 12v and a few other things.. Would NOT buy another one, it was over £51k when new with my options- Pan roof, night vision, hifi upgrade, 11kw onboard charger.. Now looking at a UK spec Terramar VZ2 First Edition in Dark Void for my next vehicle. Its up to you, but I can't recommend the 3008 to anyone after my experience. Happy Driving 👍
Lovely car, currently driving a 2.0tsi Ateca. One thing I’m not sure is whether it is possible to have the non bulky seats. My wife isn’t that big and she may find these seats not nice to sit on. Other than that it does look like a nice car.
Despite being linked to the Audi Q3, I am seeing similarities in the shape to the Audi Q4-etron, maybe the next Q3 will be very close in shape to the Q4-etron, in the same way the Q8 and Q8 etron have some close resemblences.
Hi Thomas, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to let you know that I’ve recently purchased the Terramare 1.5 Etsi, and while I’m excited about the vehicle, I have a slight concern regarding the engine. Given the weight of the car, I’m a bit unsure if the 1.5 engine will provide enough power for a smooth and adequate driving experience. I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts on this-do you believe this engine is sufficient, or might it feel a little underpowered?
Hi i was wondering about the seat comfort, i found the formentor leather seats really hard and this gave me a bad back, are they softer or more comfortable in this car ?
Hey! The problem with the animal leather seats is that the surface is rather stiff, the microfibre or fabric seats adapt more to the body. And they dont offer soft leatherette like other manufacturers
Thomas one request: measure the height of the boot space as you did in the past, it is important. Nowadays, cars have very shallow trunk, resulting in poor practicality and false numbers of cargo space. Keep walking!
@@autogefuehl Awesome, and thank you very much, will give that a watch! I am in the market for a 2021 A5 S-line, admittedly a coupe but would still like to hear what you have to say about the saloon version vs other Audi options :)
I can't help noticing that any car in your reviews all seem to have a grab handle on all four door entries. Pretty much every car in Ireland seems to only have three grab handles (all car brand importers here seem to think Irish drivers do not heed a grab handle) ... Can't imagine this saves much in cost ot weight. I want a drivers grab handle... Please!
Hi Thomas, great test as always. I have a question to you about these seats dynamica, because some people comment that they are not comfortable and even hard. I have already ordered this car but on the test there were only leather seats available, which in my opinion were comfortable but I did not choose them for other reasons. Do you think I have to worry about these comments?
Thank you again for the detail. What strikes me about the inside is just how alike it is to every other VW/Audi brand using this platform. As with Skoda, Cupra have done their best to make the UI/UX work with buttons and other style cues. What really lets both brands down, which is VW/Audi’s fault, is the awful iPad on the dashboard with the incompetent touch screen and terrible software. Having heard the pricing, it is not conceivably worth the money for such mediocrity. What would you have instead of this? Something from Alfa, Mini, or Smart; maybe even a low end BMW 1 of some kind.
@@autogefuehl Yes I think BMW are getting the market offers of both cars and price more than most in Europe. You might want to look again at what France and Italy are doing with Renault and Stellantis.
You don’t need to say anything about the acceleration because the loudness of scream and laugh of your beautiful wife says how good is it and even how many seconds it takes 😅❤ you’re together fantastic 👍🏼
Followers of Autogefühl, I am looking for buying a new car. I could buy a second hand mint condition DS4 diesel, or new Corolla HB Hybrid or new Cupra Leon 1.5 etsi? Their prices are almost same. Which one would you suggest ?
5:25 Hey, well since u asked. :) I have zero intent to be negative about this topic but I will be honest. :) Imo "fake exaust tips" or exaust outlets that are hidden and pointed downwards to exaust into asphalt/road are better in multiple ways. :) Well, we know corporations do that for saving measures although it doesn't make our car cheaper but this way we have to worry less about maintenance in therms of cleaning, protection from water going in during car wash and on top of all exaust fume particles are being caught up on asphalt when exaust is directed toward it. Not 100% of them but vast amount by some studies published now probably around 10 years ago. Ofc I doubt corpos even care about it (they save on this aproach - earn more) but for us it is more beneficial. Thing is tyres catch some from asphalt but that's the case anyways etc. Majority stays on surface cause it has oil in a form with it and it reacts with particles. This isn't my profession not closely so I only tried explaining it simple ways. I think the point is clear. When it comes to esthetics, I guess it's individual. I personally would rather hear something practical concerning presented car than a comment regarding exaust tip as I can see it. What's the fucntional aspect that could replace it? Since it's cupra I'll give u an example I bare in mind since I checked new Formentor. Not all versions have multilink at the back. It would be beneficial to hear which ones have and which ones don't as it's far more important than exaust tips. Also if there's a separate package for bad roads in offer, or package for lower NVH value etc.
I now drive a Tarraco and am thinking of buying a new car. But the Terramar let me down because of the size, especially for people sitting in the back. For taller people with two children, the car is too small.
or us middle aged ones that want something fun (= not boring looking like your average VW) and relatively performant and don't want to pay audi prices for it. Also, i needed something that fits my 2 adult sized kids in the back seats without problems, hence the Formentor VZ310 :)
Vag or VW is not own the cupra is independent company cupra formentor is first SUV or car of cupra so if you mean cupra takes platform engine yea but is not VW ok is cupra alone the tuned cupra own style design and not by VW ok and who does sheep's society blind don't know vw own Bugatti Lamb seat Skoda Man truck ok but not the cupra
@@unexplainedwearenotalone3537 Welcome visitor from another planet. SEAT Cupra S.A.U. (Sauron indeed, Thomas) is wholly owned by Volkswagen AG. Within VAG, it is part of the Volkswagen car brand group, and the CEO of SEAT Cupra, Wayne Griffiths, reports to Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand. Cupra was the name and modification process SEAT used for its top sport models, in the same was VW employs R, and Audi employs RS. The decision to split Cupra into a unique model range was in 2018. It seems likely that Cupra will eventually replace the SEAT brand name completely. Enjoy your stay on planet earth.
Amazing car if the pricing is right is will sell more than the VW Tiguan. They good improve with luxury. Better chairs for longer drives maybe. Massage chairs etc. Besides this good car.
Rubber window sills doesn't mean anything quality wise. It's a choice the company made. Copper is the color of Cupra, and copper sills do not complement the style. And it's a carefree and durable choice which adds to the stealth look of Cupra vehicles.
24:09 I guess you were driving too slow and erratic in the middle lane. But this is how you'd drive when you are distracted by sluggish centre touch screens and talking at the same time .
Interesting that Thomas is human and also sometimes reacts to road bullying. But I still have you as personal example of cool driver and do your best to keep your head and cool on the road. Safety first whenever you can!
Better looking than the Tiguan...but...that big stuck on screen looks cheap. Integrate it into the dash...and bring back buttons, swivel wheel and knobs.
Surprised about the extent of effort the engineers put in the car, then finding the rear seats space is disappointing. Why! Are they going to make a bigger vehicle?
So it's 2025 and you have 40-50.000euros and u want to buy a family hybrid SUV: question! Would you go for the Toyota chr hybrid 2.0 Gr in-out line or this one 1.5 hybrid top trim-range? Both vehicles very same prices+capacity.... can't decide,Help :)
Hey! Toyota is always great for the reliability so buying and keeping it for long period of time is good for that, however, for a family the Chr might be a little bit small and you need to go for a Carola cross or a rav4
Have you ever thought of putting a warning sign on the back of the car during reviews? Something like: "We're recording a car review. Please don't mind random lane changes and rapid accelerations"
Thanks for excellent presentation as usual. Terramar is pretty much what I am looking for my car. Just thinking how it would retain its value. Škoda is much better in that respect.
Thomas, if you maybe know... People are saying that this product has a newer tech when compared with refreshed Formentor. Do you maybe know what is missing in Formentor? Great review as always. :) Thanks :)
take this styling and interior trim, grab vz5 engine and throw all together in a4 type of karavan for half of the price of audi s/rs line. done and done..
Does terramar have a torque splitter on the rear axle in 4 drive models? does anyone know anything about it, I saw that formentor and leon got it after facelift
@@autogefuehlcompared to the formentor you tested, do you feel a big difference in relation to the torque splitter? I recently ordered a Terramar but more and more data is coming to me that tells me that this car is not worth the price, first of all the lower power and secondly it is now this torque splitter. probably in the future they will release a 333HP version with a splitter... then I will be pissed
You notice the torque splitter yes, but only in very sporty driving, the question is if you do that. The Terramar on the other hand is much more comfortable and silent in the drive
Drove the Cupra Formentor, nothing worth in this car to be in even near premium segment. Interior quality is very low, switches not even lighted in the dark, easy to miss, terrible multimedia system, the whole car is a rushed up mess. Automatic gear is a mess at low speed, and etc. From the outside it might be nice that is subjective, but from the usable point of view I would avoid it.
It isn't in the near premium segment, it is cheap car in particular when being leased, exactly for those who don't want to sell body parts to be able to drive
@@renitur2292 A lot cheaper than "premium" brands which it was called above, it is not premium so a lot cheaper and also no premium feel. But a ok feel and good looks, there may be better alternatives but most are less good looking.
What the hell is this trend for ambient lighting all over the place when it's dark - and now on the top of the dash to reflect in the glass? Anyone remember the Saab button to disable all dashboard lighting other than the cluster so you could concentrate on actually driving safely at night?

Thank you so much! Please recommend / share our channel and our videos 🙏
More comparable to Tiguan!
@@autogefuehl I do actually, quite often!
Thanks. Excellent car review channel. Trying to figure out if Cupra is better than Kodiak RS !
Maybe a comparison video would be a good idea

Hey! Thanks! We ll take a look at the all-new Kodiaq RS very soon :)

I think it’s much better than everyone’s piano black interior. No shiny plastic stuff in here :)

Woman's voice of reason: "Tissues!"
Thomas: stares blankly and wonders what is a "tissue" and why any man would ever need it?
Great work again L&T. I like the styling but I like the Peugeot 3008 even more. And a BMW X1 will probably be cheaper to lease. The competition is tough!
thanks m8 !
I wish there was an option to not have bronze elements, but silver or some other metallic color instead.
The mark of Sauron 😮😂 Great video as always 😊
Ironically, as busy as the design is, it's still calmer than new Audi's coming out... which is the exact opposite of how it should be.
VW claiming they need to cut costs, yet releases another car which they already 5 versions of. (Q3, Tiguan, Karoq, Kodiaq, Ateca)
Capra logo looks like the decepticon logo a little bit 😂
Lovely car, currently driving a 2.0tsi Ateca. One thing I’m not sure is whether it is possible to have the non bulky seats. My wife isn’t that big and she may find these seats not nice to sit on. Other than that it does look like a nice car.
just these
As a phev with good driving dynamics would you choose this or the Renault Rafale? Congratulations, your reviews are always the best

For driving dynamics no phev since u add weight.
Driving dynamics probably better with the cupra in general
What i like is NO PIANO BS!
Despite being linked to the Audi Q3, I am seeing similarities in the shape to the Audi Q4-etron, maybe the next Q3 will be very close in shape to the Q4-etron, in the same way the Q8 and Q8 etron have some close resemblences.
Hi Thomas,
I hope this message finds you well.
Hey! It depends on what u drive. German Autobahn can be underpowered yes, if u rather drive city and low speed limits it’s fine
Thomas one request:
measure the height of the boot space as you did in the past, it is important.
Nowadays, cars have very shallow trunk, resulting in poor practicality and false numbers of cargo space.
Keep walking!
Thanks for the upload! Thomas, will there be an Audi version of the 'best sedan' videos? :)
Cheers! Yes indeed I am already thinking about that :)
Meanwhile enjoy this: th-cam.com/video/ybtbZ01XA5I/w-d-xo.html
Thanks 🙏
Dinamica is more comfortable than the animal skin leather

What's your opinion about the Sennheiser speaker system in this Terramar?
Hello Thomas! Highly apreciate yout videos! How is it in comparison with Tiguan in terma of confort, noise insulation and ride quality? Thanks!
cheers ! Did you watch this video full length?
BMW X1 sometimes even has better offers now I heard
@@autogefuehl
Yes I think BMW are getting the market offers of both cars and price more than most in Europe. You might want to look again at what France and Italy are doing with Renault and Stellantis.

Followers of Autogefühl, I am looking for buying a new car. I could buy a second hand mint condition DS4 diesel, or new Corolla HB Hybrid or new Cupra Leon 1.5 etsi? Their prices are almost same. Which one would you suggest ?
Best driving fun: Leon. Best for reliability to buy and keep: Corolla
Hmm good question, their main point of fake exhaust is pure design, thats it. So from a manufacturers view, it has always about the visual part.
Would like to see an ISA-off button instead of the ESP-off.
I went in-depth on that issue in this video as well !
The space for luggage is more than 100 liters less than the tiguan, why is it placed in the same bracket?
From all the reviews from Thomas, i would gladly buy (not lease) the new lexus NX...
How can anybody, male or female, straight or homo or whatever, dislike curly Thomas? You look great, man
thanks so much my friend :)
Thomas is it as noisy in the cabin as it sounds
I did comment on that!
I now drive a Tarraco and am thinking of buying a new car. But the Terramar let me down because of the size, especially for people sitting in the back. For taller people with two children, the car is too small.
Soon more news on the channel what might be suitable for you - stay tuned a few more days!
I feel like VAG is trying to position Cupra as a brand for "those young people who are into sports cars but don't have a lot of money"
or us middle aged ones that want something fun (= not boring looking like your average VW) and relatively performant and don't want to pay audi prices for it. Also, i needed something that fits my 2 adult sized kids in the back seats without problems, hence the Formentor VZ310 :)
Have you seen what these cars cost 🤣
That would be true if it wasn't for the cost. 😅
That badge reminds me of knitting needles!
The rear looks like a sporty Vinfast, or the Vinfast looks like a Cupra? 🤔
Is there going to be 333hp version like the Formentor/Akrapovic exhaust?
I dont think so
It's interesting that this cupra aggressive styling is so much liked by women's.

Hi, Thomas I was surprised by the American people who made the new Cupra Terramar VZ 2025!

@@autogefuehl ok
I prefer door pockets made of plastic and not covered in fabric, if they get dirty, they are easier to clean, they are more hygienic that way
I wonder why they didn't put in the 333hp engine from the Formentor.

This one here is also nice to drive, the advantage in comparison to the Toyota is that it’s more silent on the motorway, for example
Have you ever thought of putting a warning sign on the back of the car during reviews? Something like:
"We're recording a car review. Please don't mind random lane changes and rapid accelerations"
That is normal driving behaviour in many of the countries in which Thomas conducts his test drives!!
I guess that would also attract police ;-)
Thanks for excellent presentation as usual. Terramar is pretty much what I am looking for my car. Just thinking how it would retain its value. Škoda is much better in that respect.

Does terramar have a torque splitter on the rear axle in 4 drive models? does anyone know anything about it, I saw that formentor and leon got it after facelift
nope they dont have it in the Terramar
Then, there are many better options for better value
@@PerJohansson-Xeizoit's not cheap in anyway

What the hell is this trend for ambient lighting all over the place when it's dark - and now on the top of the dash to reflect in the glass? Anyone remember the Saab button to disable all dashboard lighting other than the cluster so you could concentrate on actually driving safely at night?
No felt lining in the door pockets is such a stupid thing to save money on considering how premium the rest of the interior is!
