Hi everyone! For those asking... yes. This is my movie. I had SO much fun working with this amazing cast and it was the experience of a lifetime. Thank you for watching. ♥
Scott, the fact that you've taken your time to read and answer every single comment is one of the most humble acts I've ever seen a successful director do. Hope your patience in getting the perfect distributor pays off. This looks very well made and will easily become a cult classic. All the best, can't wait to see it!
Oh, you are too kind, Cebisco! I'm sure if you were in the same position, you'd do the same. If you all can't SEE the film yet, you may as well ask questions and let me talk about it. :) Hoping it gets released soon so we can finally discuss the film in depth.
@@TheOfficialAnimalCrackersMovie Thank you for your response. To be frank with you, my main curiosities lie on what on earth enabled you to turn a graphic novel into a triple A feature. I realise that the Animal Crackers concept itself is beautiful and does deserve a screenplay - but many MANY beautiful stories get stuck in novel limbo. How'd you do it? Also, trying to buy Magic Carpet on Amazon and it's not available. Any idea where I can get it?
Ah. Well... NO one would buy it. So I went out and raised the money and did it myself. We did the whole thing independently. In Franklin, TN and Valencia, Spain. The actors and musicians got wind of it and came on board and it just kind of grew from there.
Magic Carpet never got released because our publisher (IDW at the time) wasn't paying us for the previous 8 or so books we released through them. Here's a link to the PDF of the book. On me. www.dropbox.com/s/p3ucx20bbdo9rh6/MagicCarpet.pdf?dl=0
It's pretty rare to see a director so down-to-earth and not hesitant to connect to their audience on a personal level, it's really charming. That's a word I can use to describe a whole bunch of things about this film, the passion you and your team put into it all really shows. I can't wait to see the finished project, Scott!
I'm just here to advocate that everyone should see this movie! It's legit the Lion King but if it was made with pure Shrek 1 energy. A certified hood classic if you will
It's animated. It's cute. It's funny. It has a great voice cast. It's original. What more could a movie need, honestly? I am hyped to watch this! Thanks so much for creating this~.
While this doesn't look perfect, I can still see myself enjoying this film. The animation looks really impressive seeing as this is the first film you guys have worked on, the story is pretty creative with the concept of the actual animal crackers and the characters seem like they can be likeable. Let's just say that when this film officially releases, I will gladly pay money to see this. For your first effort in the world of film, this looks mighty impressive. P.S: I would also like to applaud you on replying to basically every single comment here. I can tell that you are the type of creator to care about your audience and what they think. The fact that you will take advice from TH-cam commenters and take what they think into consideration for your future works is absolutely incredible. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate the thoughtful note and insight. Yes. Of course I reply to the comments. It's such a joy to interact with fellow animation/film fans. And I so desperately want to get a reaction from people seeing the film. What artist doesn't? :) Still. Thank you. And hope you enjoy the film when it comes out.
When I saw the movie up on Netflix I was in tears. I remember commenting on this a while ago and just waiting for this to come out. I kept checking every few months and when I saw it came out I was just so happy. I've been waiting so long for this movie and I'm so happy that it finally is available for people to see. Thank you! And congratulations for finally getting this out to the public, I know the fans have been waiting years for it.
This was randomly in my recommended and I was really confused, I was thinking eh I’ll watch it probably won’t be that good, OH MY GOODNESS THIS LOOKS AMAZING, THE ANIMATION, VOICE ACTING AND ESPECIALLY THE CONCEPT! This is a great original idea which is pretty uncommon in animation I feel like, can’t wait to see how it turns out!

Great Work Scott! i will watch this one in cinemas! :D For your future movies, it would make me so so happy, if you can make a movie where is Tigers, Cheetahs, Lions, Snowleopards in it. I saw the trailer for this movie 3 years ago and I fell absolutely in love. I remember reading up on your distribution troubles and was super sad to read about it. I just spent the last couple hours watching the movie and I cannot express how much I LOVE this movie. I’m clinically depressed and I don’t think I’ve ever smiled and laughed as much as I did watching your movie. I give my deepest respect to this channel for giving a reply for every comment on every single video. I have not seen another TH-cam channel who accomplished a feat like that!
Here from the SinCast. Scott, this movie is something I would take my son & daughter to see and it truly is a tragedy that I may never be able to. I hope that your stories from the SinCast reach a wider audience and something good comes out of this. The second tickets are available, you have 4 fans ready to pay. Good luck my man.
We need a petition for this movies release, I honestly would love to see the movie any way possible. Even if its only dvd, I don't want it too just dissapear 😣
I already commented on the reupload of this trailer, but this is a unique concept I really haven’t seen before. While some of the models do look a bit off, and the trailer isn’t too strong, I can tell this movie is gonna be pretty nice. Especially for a first movie, the animation is nice, voices are pretty good. Also, Ian McKellen villain?! Yes please. I’d love to see this when it comes out! Looks great, man.
Thank you very much! Yes... we're still learning... but I hope you do enjoy our first film. :) And yes! Gandalf was in our movie. I got to meet him. Yay. th-cam.com/video/XZOeHiBCNqE/w-d-xo.html
i dont usually expect these small project, non-heard of movies, to be good in any way, but ill have to admit a few of these jokes actually managed to make me smile and this actually looks promising. that animation is so nice and i love how the characters designs were made! the stories original and all of this seems like itll do well! I hope you continue to do great, Scott!
Ah, jeez! I've been following this movie ever since the trailer dropped, and finally got the opportunity to watch it on Netflix last night. It was way better than I thought it was going to be, and I already thought it was going to be great - every shot is gorgeous and you can really tell that this was a labor of love. A _massive_ congratulations from me and my family to everyone who worked on this.
Thank you! Funny enough.. I got a lot of pushback from my team about this. They thought we should "focus on the hero's journey" and only follow Owen (Krasinski). I hope my gamble of having the couple be the star (equally) pays off.
I think this way it gives more depth to the character. I mean, if it was only him, then we would only see him interecting with his circus "family" and his real family. + I like the fact they have coloured hair, it really highlights them and matches the circus theme
Aw i just saw this video today and i got pretty excited but when i read the comments about what happened my heart broke This could have been a pretty great movie :(
I wasn't very excited for this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't gonna see it, I love those simple harmless animated films like Gnome Alone, Disco Worms, and Dragon Hunters, really take me back to my childhood.
Honestly looks like this movie could be good but unfortunately we'll never know unless you can get the rights to the movie back and I greatly hope you do there's some good actors and good animation that would have taken quite a bit of money and I would hate to see all that go down the drain
I cant wait to see this, this has a lot of hard work put into this including going out of your way getting famous voices. The concept is adorable, congratulations on getting a full movie out there and thank you for being down to earth
I found this trailer by complete chance. Just by watching it, I can tell this is a passion project not backed up by mainstream big money studios and that makes it unique. I read through a few comments to try and get a general feel for the overall reaction, but what I saw about the struggles to get this film off the ground and be released for the world to adore....it's incredible. I may not know or understand the full story behind production, but this film will be on my radar. I see the creator has been responding to most of these comments. If I got to say one thing to you, Scott, it's that you are a visionary the modern world of film making hasn't seen since maybe the 80's. I'm going to college studying Psychology with a minor in film. Being a director has been a dream of mine....and from what I can tell....you're living your dream and I envy you for that. Can't wait to see the final film...I know it'll be amazing!
Thank you so very much. I really appreciate it. If you'd like to hear more about the production and all I've been through... I just did this podcast. soundcloud.com/cinemasins/sincast-episode-130-the
I just saw that this movie is available on Netflix and I’m so excited and happy for you. Saw this trailer when it first came out and remember reading into it and could just see the passion for it so glad that it finally got released.
I've never seen a studio reply to all of their audience member's comments before. I hope it's not too draining for you guys. Congrats on the movie being released!
When I originally saw this in my recommended videos, I for sure thought it was going to be similar to those badly animated kids films that air on TV a lot. Boy was I wrong, though! I really hope this movie is successful. It's a quite unique idea that's obviously had real time and effort put into it. Extra credit to you for replying to people's comments. It's nice to see content creators responding to the comments, even if they're against the movie. Bravo Zulu. Cannot wait to see this movie in theatres.
Just wanted to let you know I found your story on the Sincast incredibly interesting, eye opening and moving. Truly hope you get the happy ending Barrett eluded to. Take care.
I think I, like many people, saw this trailer and was immediately skeptical. However, even without the cast (phenomenal as they are) and without the background to the issues this movie had (incredible that it's finally coming out); the story itself is interesting and for a first time director, I understand you did not have a huge budget whatsoever, but bravo for getting it done, getting it out there and now finally getting it released. You seem like a great guy also and I can't wait to see what you have coming up next!
Thank you so very much, Rick. That's very kind of you. I'm proud of what we were able to do regardless of what may happen. I am just so excited to finally get to show the world.
I just listened to the Sincast Podcast regarding this movie. It's an absolute tragedy you cant get this movie out. I really wish there were a way to watch this. Please keep your head up and keep spreading that kindness youve been looking for. I hope you do more things in the future.
Sorry to say it has NOT come out yet. :( The film has been finished for 2 years now. But has been held up by 3 different distributors in Hollywood.1 went bankrupt. The other extorted money from us. And the last has just sat on it for a year. We're doing the best we can to get the film back and release it.
Dear Scott, I just finished listening to the SinCast, and I want you to know that my heart is breaking for you. You seem like the sweetest guy and listening to your journey of making the film was so exciting and interesting. I felt like was with you as you were in those meetings and directing actors and making revisions on the script. I just finished reading a biography of George Lucas and he has always been hell bent against studios because they seem to ruin everything. Hearing the issues that you've run into with them reminded me a lot of his experiences as a young filmmaker out of school. As someone who is studying to be a (stage) actor, I feel a kinship with you as a creative person and someone who wants to create and to prove themself. I've been so moved by your story, especially because I've been struggling with the same personal issues of depression. The trailer looks fantastic! I can't wait to see the movie, especially now that I know all of the effort and time that you have poured into it. If there is any sort of patreon page or donation page that I can give to please let me know where to find it. I wish you the absolute best, thank you for sharing your amazing experience and your hard fought battles, it was so cool to be able to join you, and I want you and your family to know that I'm supporting you (through prayer and hopefully a donation) and rooting for you. Have a lovely day, Cole Conrad
Cole. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to listen... and thank you for taking the time to write me. Messages like this have gotten me through the past few weeks and my wife and I can't thank you all enough for your encouragement and support. I hope you all can see the film one day. Scott
Wow...just wow. This is actually one of those films that has the potential to turn something we have, into a good concept for a movie. This is clearly targeted towards children, but so far, it's looking pretty good. The writing is pretty decent, the animation is good, and the voice acting is good. This looks like some actual love has been put into this movie, which I can see.I'll be looking forward to watching as soon as it's available online. This might be considered one of the best movies based off a product for this year(or 2018).
Wow. Thank you so very much. I do tend to write young (it's based off of a children's book I wrote for my kids) but yes... it's made with a ton of love. :) Hope you enjoy the film.
Here from the SinCast. Looks incredible, I hope to one day see it in a theater or on my movie shelf. Take heart in knowing you've made something with meaning.
Never would’ve guessed THIS WOULD BE SUCH AN AWESOME MOVIE! Just finished watching it on netflix, and I gotta say, u guys did a great job. Be very proud :)
Scott, just heard your story on CinemaSins and I love this trailer! I would love to see this movie, and I hope there’s a happy ending for your part also. Sending positive vibes your way, Ted
This looks like a really cute movie, one I’m willing to give a shot. The animation industry has been very disappointing to me as of late, and this looks refreshingly different. Congrats on your first movie!
Can I quickly say that as a teenager who really wants to be a filmmaker in the future, this definitely is an inspirational film for me. I see a lot of comments saying that this idea is very weird and from watching the trailer, I agree that it looks like there’s a lot of weird ideas in it. BUT weird doesn’t always equal bad. Most Pixar movies have very very weird ideas, like monsters using children’s screams to power a city (Monster’s Inc) or an old man attaching balloons to his house to fly down to South America (Up). Truth is, even though kids’ movies aren’t my thing, I definitely will watch this whenever I can. It looks like it has a lot of potential and I can’t wait to see it. Will this film have flaws? Probably. But it’s still a non-mainstream film done by someone who had an idea and wanted to share it, and the thing is, it looks really good. And so while it may not be perfect, it’s more an inspiration to youth filmmakers like me than big budget films could ever be. And for that I want to thank you so much. This film looks very promising, and I will definitely be watching it.
Thank you so very much. I hope you get to fulfill your dream as well. I also hope you don't run into the problems I did along the way. Really appreciate you taking the time to message me here and watch the trailer.
Almost been a year since the film came out on netflix! So glad you, the cast, and crew were able to pour your heart and soul into this wonderful picture, and get great results! I know, it was an incredibly bumpy road, but gosh darnit, you all succeeded radically!
My boyfriend and I are on the edge of our seats for this! It’s so sincere and original! I think this is a movie that has a lot of heart put into it and I absolutely can’t wait to see it.
Holly hell, I saw this trailer 3 years ago and loved how charming it was. Especially with the story behind the scenes. I forgot about it after a while though, till I randomly saw it on Netflix. I'm so happy it's out and now on a big platform for people to watch
I already love the concept and voice acting. I keep hearing that plump guy from it's always sunny in something something. Oh wait. He's actually there. YES!
1 day left my friend, I've been waiting for this movie for years ever since I saw this trailer and now your journey is gonna come to an end tomorrow. It's been a pleasure to comment almost every vid in your channel and I really hope your company will continue growing from this day forward, because you have something special with this film and your crew. I'll watch this film immediately when it comes out and I'll love it already after all the hardships that it went through.

I hope you continue to do great, Scott!
Thank you very much. The character designs credit must go to the amazing Carter Goodrich.
Hope you enjoy the film. And thank you again.
Wow. Thank you SO much, Grace! That means the world to me. I truly appreciate you telling me this.
♥♥♥
Damn, your first movie has Danny devito as a voice actor? I'm sold!
Thanks!
I'm pretty excited myself. He was very cool to meet.

This is just sooo cute :) Also, really nice to see parents having the main roles in a kids movie for a change.
I just heard you on The Cinema Sins Sincast, great interview! I really hope this getting a release date soon, I really want to see this.
Thank you very much. I appreciate you listening to my story.
John Krasinski looks like himself. So does Danny Devito. Because of this I will FOR SURE watch this film
Ha ha. Purely unintentional. The designs were done before they came on board.
Still a better idea than the Emoji movie
Thank you!
Aw i just saw this video today
and i got pretty excited
but when i read the comments about what happened
my heart broke
This could have been a pretty great movie
:(
Thank you. There are horrible people in Hollywood.
:(
While I don’t usually see smaller animated movies the sheer creativity of this one makes me want to go see it.
Thank you very much. I hope you enjoy it.
I wasn't very excited for this, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't gonna see it, I love those simple harmless animated films like Gnome Alone, Disco Worms, and Dragon Hunters, really take me back to my childhood.
Thank you. I wish you could see it.
Thank you!
Came here from your art shorts!!
Honestly looks like this movie could be good but unfortunately we'll never know unless you can get the rights to the movie back and I greatly hope you do there's some good actors and good animation that would have taken quite a bit of money and I would hate to see all that go down the drain
Thank you very much. It's a labor of love and it saddens me and the entire team to see it just sit for so long.
Hope you can all see it one day.
I cant wait to see this, this has a lot of hard work put into this including going out of your way getting famous voices. The concept is adorable, congratulations on getting a full movie out there and thank you for being down to earth
Thank you so much. It's definitely been an experience.
:)
0:57 There needs to be a 10 hour loop of that
Ha ha. That's actually from the comic. One of the few things that made it from comic to script to screen.
Seems like a lot of heart went into this. Good luck, movie!
Thank you very much, Kate!
I went into this trailer thinking it would be bad, but it actually looks pretty good! Can't wait to see it!
Kirby Ella yeah
Thank you! I'm so glad you liked it.
Hope you enjoy the film.
Ok but like i just found out Scott made a move, and now that i know this is his I'm watching it.

And I love it.
Ha ha. Thanks!

Huge text then appears: JOHN KRASINSKI
Everyone: [applauds]
Ha ha. So true.
I just saw that this movie is available on Netflix and I’m so excited and happy for you. Saw this trailer when it first came out and remember reading into it and could just see the passion for it so glad that it finally got released.
Thank you! What a crazy journey it's been! I hope you like it!
So many amazing actors to pull this off. Such a strong creative mind you have!
Thank you. It was an amazing experience.
I've never seen a studio reply to all of their audience member's comments before. I hope it's not too draining for you guys. Congrats on the movie being released!
Thanks Lucy. It's not a studio. It's just me. Scott. The creator of the movie. ♥
How does this movie have so many big names in it, and I never heard of it till 5 minutes ago?
When I originally saw this in my recommended videos, I for sure thought it was going to be similar to those badly animated kids films that air on TV a lot. Boy was I wrong, though!
I really hope this movie is successful. It's a quite unique idea that's obviously had real time and effort put into it. Extra credit to you for replying to people's comments. It's nice to see content creators responding to the comments, even if they're against the movie.
Bravo Zulu. Cannot wait to see this movie in theatres.
Thank you so very much!
It's been a pleasure showing the trailer to everyone.
Hope you enjoy the film.
I HATE that this isn’t going to be shown because this idea is GENIUS WOW
Thank you Breanna. I wish you all could see it.
This actually looks really good and original!
Thank you! I hope you enjoy it!
Just wanted to let you know I found your story on the Sincast incredibly interesting, eye opening and moving. Truly hope you get the happy ending Barrett eluded to. Take care.
Thank you very much!
Thank you very much. It's been a difficult 2 years for me and the team. I don't know if there's much hope left in us.
What happened to this movie? Did it ever come out? I watched this trailer about a year ago and never heard anything about it after
Sorry to say it has NOT come out yet.
:(
The film has been finished for 2 years now. But has been held up by 3 different distributors in Hollywood.1 went bankrupt. The other extorted money from us. And the last has just sat on it for a year.
We're doing the best we can to get the film back and release it.
Thanks. So many people in the world who need the money more than this film does. I'd feel bad asking for people to donate just to get this film out.
Here from the Sincast, seeing a lot of the sincast folks on here... this looks great and I’m rooting for you
Thanks Orrie!
Omg can’t wait to watch I love Scott!!
Dear Scott,
I just finished listening to the SinCast, and I want you to know that my heart is breaking for you.
Have a lovely day,
Cole Conrad
Cole. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to listen... and thank you for taking the time to write me.
Messages like this have gotten me through the past few weeks and my wife and I can't thank you all enough for your encouragement and support.
I hope you all can see the film one day.
Scott
Just came from the Sincast, I really hope something good comes your way, movie looks good.
Thank you so much.
Hmm this movie seems very unique and good for a fairly un heard of studio hopefully it's not a flop
Thank you!
You are welcome
:)
Hope you enjoy the film.
Here from the SinCast. Looks incredible, I hope to one day see it in a theater or on my movie shelf. Take heart in knowing you've made something with meaning.
Thank you very much, Jacob!
This looks actually kinda okay. At least it is an original idea.
Thank you very much!
I just wastched it yesterday... It was AWESOME! This movie is really good for all ages, and this movie has alot of magic xD

Scott, just heard your story on CinemaSins and I love this trailer! I would love to see this movie, and I hope there’s a happy ending for your part also. Sending positive vibes your way, Ted

I saw behind the scenes and you’ve been working on this since 2015.
That shows how much effort you’ve put into this

*YOU NOW OWN THIS OLD RUNDOWN CIRCUS!*
*This is what we wanted!*
A rundown circus?
The circus.
I really want this movie to come out. It seems like a really good movie.
Thank you. I wish it would come out. Sorry it hasn't yet.
I honestly don't know. Byron Allen is the one keeping the film from being released.
This looks like a really cute movie, one I’m willing to give a shot. The animation industry has been very disappointing to me as of late, and this looks refreshingly different. Congrats on your first movie!
Thank you very much! I truly appreciate the kind words and encouragement!
:)
Original concept, entire family loved it! Well done! 👏👏
Thanks SO much! ♥
I saw this movie a while back and didn’t realise it was from scott
I really like the characters design , this movie seems interesting
Thank you. Carter Goodrich (Ratatouille, Brave, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc) designed them. He's amazing.
If this isn't a success I'm gonna lose faith in humanity.
Thank you. I think I will too...
:(
You actually took the time to reply. When will it come out?
Of course!
:)
I don't know. Hopefully some time this year. Just waiting on the distributor to get off their butt.
This looks amazing
I wish we could turn into animals on command ;w;
thank you. And yeah...wouldn't that be amazing?
I'd be a Turtle On Command
This looks fun, I’m gonna pull it up on Netflix now ^^
Someone liked my comment and reminded me of this. I watched it and by the end I was sad it was over. Hope to see this story continue at some point.
Thank you Kid Kritic. It was an AMAZING experience making the movie and meeting everyone. Truly appreciate all of the love and support. ♥
This is the kinda shit I wanna find on Netflix at 2am.
Yeah. I wish Netflix would pick it up so you could all see it! Would love that.
Thank you!

My boyfriend and I are on the edge of our seats for this! It’s so sincere and original! I think this is a movie that has a lot of heart put into it and I absolutely can’t wait to see it.

danny devito?
the all star cast damn!
the parents look kinda like 2D and Noodle...I'm obsessed with Gorillaz...help me
I'm not upset about the similarities either.
I thought this was a poor concept at first, but in 10 seconds I was proven VERY wrong.
Thank you!
Glad you liked it.
Holly hell, I saw this trailer 3 years ago and loved how charming it was. Especially with the story behind the scenes. I forgot about it after a while though, till I randomly saw it on Netflix. I'm so happy it's out and now on a big platform for people to watch
Thank you! I hope you get a chance to see it! Would love to hear your thoughts.

After: Aw! Dad goals!
I already love the concept and voice acting. I keep hearing that plump guy from it's always sunny in something something.
Oh wait. He's actually there. YES!
Danny DeVito! He's so good. And so funny!
I hope you really like the movie!
