Good video thanks. I’ll work on my cars all day long but never want to touch my ATX surf boat. Prices and dealer is so far away I think I’m gonna start doing my oil changes on the boat.
thanks for the video - helpful. one question though - your old filter had 219 hours written on the side of the filter, and as you pointed out in the video, you recorded the updated 227 hours on the new filter - maybe a premature oil change? I've never heard of a need to change oil after only 8 hours running time. thoughts to ponder
@@Myksgarage Got it, thanks. Mind if also ask about winterization? I have a new ATX with the 400 Raptor engine and am thinking about winterizing myself. Is this something you do yourself? Fairly easy?

Yeah it's not that bad

Yeah I change it once a year regardless of the hours
Nice video - thanks - like your idea using the barb fitting and the plastic bag around the oil filter
Thanks for watching, the plastic bag makes it much less of a mess!
Good video. Only critic would be over tightening the filter. If you’re using a wrench, it’s too tight.
Thanks for the tip!
Good video, thanks. Do you typically change the transmission fluid at the same time you change the oil?
I will check the trans fluid, I usually change it every other year or 100 hours

Do you run antifreeze thru the boat after winterizing it? If so what’s the process??
I don't, I just leave it dry
Others have mentioned to make sure you winterize the ballast system as well. DO you have a video on that or steps on how to do that??@@Myksgarage
Do you have the thread size and type of the barb fitting?
1/4”
1/4 what? Is that the barb size or the thread size. Npt or standard?
Wondering this too. Looks like 1/4" barb but not sure on the thread size.
