This song is so weird and funny, I love it so much. I often catch myself singing "Fifteen, twenty years, maybe" out of nowhere and it makes me laugh. I am so happy to have found this live version, I adore how much fun they had with it!!
What? you never saw Blixa smile? He saves it for really special occassions like blue moons and pigs flying and even sometimes when he's happy, if you're very good.
Beautiful soul. I'm shattered and I never even met her A galactic talent, as future generations will realise Noctambulating around Nowheresville.... Sleep well, genius
@@lucylovic It’s historical fact. Nick himself has given them both a lot of credit for how they helped and influenced him professionally and personally.
Such a beautiful song, really. It sounds a bit like a nonsense song, on the surface - with its lines about bushy brats noctambulating, and men with boxes of wind - but really, it's a sweet love song, a song about nostalgia and reminiscence, about having a bond so deep that it seems to transcend literal time. Really, the whole routine about "How long have we known each other..." , and the sentiment behind it, isn't too far away from "I knew I loved you before I met you/I think I dreamed you into life..." (At least, I think it is, anyway).
Very sad news today, always loved your music. Yor cover of Bela Ciao is by far the best. I hope that up there in Rock Heaven, you´ll recieve the recognition you deserve. RIP my dear Partisan!
Blixa duets are collectively a star in the Einsturzende Neubauten constellation of ten thousand songs. Here with How Long repeated, the perfect instrumentation is so trong, and yet lovely, it really does engage me into stopping and just enjoying the song. Just enjoying this Proustian remembrance and love. Love. "I've never seen you in my life" oh yes....
Oh GOD, this video! The rare - and maybe holy and enchanted - sight of Blixa GRINNING! I can't get over it. The more I think about the lyrics to this song, as sweet and strange as they are, the more I think they must be some sort of private joke cooked up between Blixa and Anita. I can't make sense of them any other way: love-song-as-private-Nonsense-joke.
Elizabeth Hann Oh GOD-! Everything you said. 💗 Despite the strangeness, it makes sense on that level the best music reaches. And Blixa so otherworldly gorgeous with that smile.
Comment etre passé à coté d'une chanson tellement envoutante...pendant tant d'années! Anita, on pense à toi... Et Blixa un artiste à découvrir absolument!
omfg this song is nothing less the PERFECT.... I can't help listening to it again and again... Blixa and Anita seem to have a great chemistry too... Thank you!
blixa jest najbardziej pociągającym mężczyzną z jakim miałam styczność. a klip do weeping song , kiedy to bargeld i cave siedzą w tej łódce jest mrrr. uwielbiam.
Mannnnn ❤ 😢 I miss Anita, my muse and angel of light and friendship. Aside, you must know that I have come here at least 100 times by now and I never get tired of watching this. Thank you so much Morgan for posting this.
Of course I think he does. Have feminine appeal, I mean. Blixa must have been the PRETTIEST man in the WORLD in 1992. You're so right. Mind you, Anita's beautiful too, of course.
Agreed! And I find this kind of men amazingly attractive. And this vid always makes me feel good, always watch it + EN at Moers Fest when I want to raise my mood hehe
this is great. love Blixa's hair here! he looks utterly beautiful, count tear my eyes away-love the way he moves....at first i was not keen on Anitas vocals but actually its her "thing" part of her style and i quite like it-good chemostry and Blixaaaaa is just brilliant-lovely voice p.s his baby is called Anna
Actually thats a fact he would have made a better Lestat than TC and the other Guy in The Vampire Lestat - Stuart Townsend or whatever, Blixa woulda blown them both away!!
Ha! Ha! Ha! You're SO right. You know, I've long thought that Blixa, in his prime (any time during the 1980's, and certainly around 1992, when this video was filmed) should have been cast in a vampire movie - maybe not INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE, but some vampire movie. I've long thought that, back in 1986, Joel Schumacher should have cast Blixa - instead of Kiefer Sutherland - as the leader of the vampires in THE LOST BOYS (that would have certainly added an extra kick to that flimsy little toy of a movie), but of course, I have the suspicion that, back in 1986, neither Joel Schumacher nor anyone else in Hollywood even knew who Blixa was. Their loss... Regarding INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE: Yeah, come to think of it, Blixa should have played Lestat, and maybe... (gasp!) Nick Cave should have played Louis. Ha! Ha! Ha! Wouldn't that have been something? But of course, Nick wouldn't have put up with it. He would have hated being cast as a vamp in a Hollywood movie. His loss...
“I’ve never seen you in my life”… made me lol; then I realized the fine line between comedy and tragedy. While that line on one hand is a cheeky fake-out, it could also represent forgetfulness 🥲
They match each other’s weird intensities beautifully.
They where friends for yearsss
Fly high, Anita, you will be dearly missed. 🖤
Who?
A smiling Blixa is heavenly!❤️

Bless you Anita. RIP

Two of the talented souls that Nick Cave owes his life and career to.
Why? What makes you such an expert on his life?

One of my favourite female/male duets ♥️♥️ radiant and strong Anita, such great lyrics! They are lovely together💥
Lovely performance by two enchanting artists. RIP brilliant Anita 💔

I love this talented and so very cool songwriter / singer. She's too young to be gone. 🙁💗

Einstruzend neubauten
I'm trying to get that word correct. I can't do it. I keep ruining it. I need some time.
Is there much of making up in this song in this version?
just a little bit, though they didn't change the intention of the lyrics :)
Oh shuks ...
Oh yeah, a priest!
I always got a kick out of that line too.
@skateNappreciate Maybe it's because both of them are Capricorns ;)
Anna Millicent :)
or a PRrrEist...?
the instrumentation during the chorus reminds of me of type o negative for some reason
Yall feel me or nah?
oh lord almighty what is with his hair!:D
I've seen more doctors than priests.
She died Died of liver failure. Poor thing. Hep C related.
I'm adding this to my fav's though the woman was total shite. I agree RivaJane.
