These videos are so dear to me. I must express great gratitude for your work of putting this all together. I can't say that I have overdosed on philosophy, however, I am slowly getting addicted.

Russell’ inclination towards mathematical mysticism - which makes sense given how devastated he was by the loss of the god of “his people”- is most unfortunate.
I suspect it contributed to his underdeveloped naturalism.
His “The Study of Mathematics,” (1907) is a beautiful little work of passion. But the assumed Pythagoreanism that animates it is almost hilarious.
Im aware in his slightly more mature years he abandoned the thick mathematical mysticism of his youth.
But how much did he keep?

thanx ray i own three of your books and watched some of your lectures and in this lecture you speak differently? your timing is impeccable as followed by the breath..someone i've listened to always uses the shhhhh in between the pauses and gaps of his breath..and i wont name any names...your lecture reminds of how Oppenheimer spoke as in a fully manifested intonation. thanx again

Thank you for this. Having seen where Frege, Russell went, i.e. went wrong, I can help reset philosophy in the right direction, and this gives me the background needed to orient the new direction ...
