Hi there, we've been enjoying seeing this. (especially as we make walks in soulful cities and have just filmed in the area), so it's really interesting to see the contrast. Thanks for taking the time to add it.
Nottingham also has some RM's for a short while. I still think the decision to get rid of them was totally short-sighted. Good old Ken Livingstone. Not.
Hard to believe these anachronisms were still on the roads in 1992 and beyond when other half cabs were in museums for decades. A testament to their advanced lightweight construction underneath and their iconic appeal.
Best bus ever. Sorry, but red is best. The Routemaster does not look as good in the Southend Transport livery and awfully big S.T. logos. They just look like the second-hand buses that they are.
Thank you so much!! That beautiful original sound bring backs lovely memories !!

I guess the depot featured in this video is the one Arriva uses today on Short Street near Southend Victoria Station?
Na looks. Like one near quick fit 😊
Why weren't they just called ' Network Southeast ' buses?
@RetroRepair Try the East Anglia Film Archive at UEA
Which part of the town is this. I can't remember any such wide roundabout in any parts of southend .
Do you know where I can find video of the rest of the high street or victoria avenue, vic circus etc? Seems hard to find now.
@A60stock Ah thank you very much!
THE BEST BUS ROUTE IS THE 362 KING GEORGES TO GRANGE HILL

Did the Routemaster's ever go on 7s and 8s?
Sadly no - RMs were 14' 6" high and would have been de-roofed by the bridges at Rectory Road and Hockley Station.
They looked a bloody mess, as filthy as they were when used in London.

I don't know about Southend but in London they were on the roads until 2005!
Misk a shell of their former selves so many alterations.
