  • @iLoveTurtlesHaha

    Don't melt your cocoa butter with the liquid oil and beeswax. Melt your liquid oil and beeswax first then add the cocoa butter to gently melt these so they don't crystalize on you.

    Can you use paraffin wax instead of beeswax? I know it's softer, but I love how it helps my skin in my favorite commercial hand cream. Also I have just a small 1oz rose extract, can I use another lightweight oil in it's place? Does it contribute to the smell or just texture?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We haven't tried paraffin wax in this recipe! You can always experiment with it, but you might want to have a higher percent of the hard cocoa butter since paraffin is softer than beeswax.
      If you only have 1 ounce of rose extract, you can try using more jojoba oil instead. Our rose extract has no scent to it, so it's only there to help the bars be more skin-loving.
      As always, be sure to try your changes out in a smaller test batch before selling or giving away so you can tweak the recipe to your liking!

    Hi! I made the recipe, but I have a problem. When I use it, it doesn't get into the skin very well! it leaves my skin very oily! what can I do to get better into the skin, and faster?
    and also if I don't have the rose extract, what can I use instead?
    thanks

    • @ASH3802
      @ASH3802 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey there. Use arrowroot powder or flour. If u can't find this use cornstarch. But no more than 10% of ur oils & butters. To much will make it go from an oily to chalky feeling!

  • @enasqawasmeh7858

    What's the difference between using rose extract and rose water?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The extract we carry is a botanical infusion in fractionated coconut oil while rose water is a hydrosol made by combining essential oils with water. So for this recipe, you cannot substitute the rose extract for rose water.

  • @lorettalentz4185

    If we aren't making a Rose Scent what can we replace the rose water extract with?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our rose extract doesn't have a scent! The bars get their smell from the Dewy Rose fragrance oil instead.

  • @sharongraham5240
    @sharongraham5240 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for another lovely video! I'm just looking to make plain lotion bars with either Essential oil, or Fragrance oil. Would I substitute that for the same volume (or per usage rates) of the Rose Extract?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rose extract itself is unscented and helps give the bars skin-loving properties! If you're wanting to replace the fragrance oil, be sure to use our fragrance calculator first so you get the right fragrance load!

    What can you use to make a vegan version?

    • @bramble-berry
      @bramble-berry  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You could try replacing the beeswax with candelilla wax. It's a vegan alternative that's a bit softer than beeswax, so you might have to adjust the recipe to have a higher percent of cocoa butter over the wax. Whenever you change the recipe, be sure to make a small test batch first to make sure it's to your liking before giving away or selling! And if you're pleased with the results, tag us with #BrambleOn so we can see what you make!
