I just think that without Claire here, Phil would have had so many regrets and his career would have been jeopardised if she hadn’t stepped in. And would never thank him whenever he helped or had his back in spite of how he’d wronged him.
It took me a while but I recognized Diane funnily enough played by an actress who's real name is Diane Farr. I'm not sure if the writers got lazy or they came up with the name before she was cast. I enjoy the way Claire trolls Phil in a "I told you so" by pretending to be another client who went through a divorce, it's a great bit of comedy.
@@briansilva3344 In some ways it can be helpful for the writers so they don't get characters mixed up if there's a lot of them in a single episode but it can also come off as lazy.

That’s one of the many problems Phil has that he’s always out and wanting to be liked and loved by everyone that he doesn’t realise the boundaries he’s crossing and how he’s stepping out of line in his professional and personal lives doing what he does to achieve that, like how Claire warned and proved to him here.
