assalaamualikum wrwb sir, For many centuries and till today majority of us are trapped in the darkest clouds because of our lack of knowledge and blindly accepting the customs and family rules and regulations as part of life. Muslims around the globe never took the time or got the chance to understand the Quran and learn the Seerah of our beloved Prophet pbuh. All of the behaviors you mentioned are in the Quran and Hadiths. we only get to live once... we can repent anytime, we can better ourselves anytime, Allah swt looks at the struggle, and sincere intentions. as long as we have today we can bring good change in us! we can forgive and ask for forgiveness... because on the day of reckoning there would be no friend, family, relative except You and your deeds. today, promise yourselve I will not lie, I will never judge, I will never eat haram, and stay consistent insha Allah. this is the month of Ramadan, time to introduce the best guidance and role models into our lives. Quran advice: Fear Allah not people Do good to seek His approval, His acceptance, to seek His Mercy, His help not the other way around. bring patience ... it is the strongest weapon a believer can obtain. the highest level of all the virtues. establish salah, give zakat, sadaqa to seek His pleasure. avoid bad company! make friends with those who remind you of Allah swt! may Allah swt make us among those who fear Allah swt alone, and among those who say, "Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire" 3:16

I think now I see the young men and women with knowledge of Quran and Sunnah do not want to live a life of their parents and forefathers. they want to have and develop a purpose in their lives. I pray one day we all become living Quran and Sunnah. may we light ourselves and others around us. Ameen! every day is a new day! we can change and learn from our past and work towards perfecting our relationship with the most high Allah swt! Bring Allah swt in to our lives everything falls into their place. remember Him swt in our good days He swt will be there for us in our bad days insha Allah.
