this is no coincidence i just watched the Chosen and it explained what happened at the well. The lady felt as she was wasn’t qualified for the Lord. He always qualifies the unqualified!!

I would just like to say please continue talking about the lord. This episode seemed like a sign to me because I have struggled going/finding a church that feels like home. I always struggled with feeling judged by the old folk that would be there and wanted to find a church that was welcoming to all ages. I was going to go to church tuesday night by myself but I got too scared and ended up listening to this podcast that night. Anyways I am obsessed with how open you are about everything and I will be walking into church Sunday excited to praise him.

When she felt she was getting off topic.. that’s when God was speaking to me the most. At my old church.. they claimed to be more ‘conservative ‘ the pastor took me off of children’s ministry cause he had a problem with me wearing pants.. i guess it was only appropriate for me to be wearing skirts and dresses. He never discussed the issue.. I went out to visit my dad over the summer, told everyone I was leaving, when I was going and coming back and that I’d resume teaching once I got back. The lady incharge of the kids ministry gave me the OK and I left. The week I got back they were updating the teaching schedule and I noticed I wasn’t on it. I assumed it was a mistake and reminded the staff I was back and that I’m ready to teach. There was no efforts made. I told my mom and she brought it up with the pastor to ask what was going on.. the lady then messaged me asking to talk to me after service that week so I agreed. She brought up the fact that the pastor had seen me on jeans several occasions and that I need to be more modest. If I wanted to continue serving I’d have to start wearing long skirts (that don’t go past my calves) and or dresses of the same length.. she also suggested that I wear a veil, so I complied. The next week I came wearing what they asked and purposely brought attention to it when around them, they acknowledged me but they no longer cared.. cause this went on for weeks and I was never put back on the board. So I let it go. I started becoming less and less involved in the church and felt constantly being judged. I would only want to hang around my friends (who were guys) I was judged by everyone even by my own dad.. I’ve moved now. Not only to a new church but a new state.. with my dad dads. Now I can feel the freedom to praise however I want and serve however I want w/o people constantly inflicting their judgement on me, cause I’m in the Lord’s house. This message is really touching me

Finding a good church home is so important for your walk with Christ. What a blessing! Shoutout to the church home I'm at which is City On a Hill Church aka COAH. I pray as brothers and sisters in Christ we can come into unity to be the global church as the church should be.

I don't believe we are supposed to push those away who want to find Christ because God loves everyone. But we are also called to correct those who walk with Christ.

i have a question, is it okay to leave a community that has not been encouraging and lukewarm? I've been serving, leading, teaching, and have been part of the worship team in the young adult/youth ministry for the past 6 years but is it okay to leave them and the church behind even if they have not been self-sacrificing and caring to one another, even towards me?
I feel like it is selfish of me to think that if I leave my church to go find a better community, "I am better than them and they don't appreciate me" but at the same time, I poured my heart into making things work and bring in the light to God's name, that it's just not encouraging to see them not change, care, and not putting their hearts onto the LORD and onto others. especially in the way that I see it, God calls us to be compassionate, patient, and loving towards one another, as well as our enemies, but I don't know the limitations to knowing and being okay with leaving a family or a friend that refuses to know God that I have been with for so long and yet so blessed with, but yet they are so "to themselves and in their own world."
I also have come to realize that even from the beginning I have a hard time being spiritually open with them outside of church. I feel so disconnected with them. It never felt like a family but like a middle school friend group. I sometimes find myself becoming frustrated, disheartened, and impatient by how everyone's attitudes are not in the right place, but then, I feel for them so much--because I know I am no better, I am human and was just like them. It breaks my heart to know where the hurt is coming from but they are not giving it to God to rest on Him. Their heart is so hardened.
Maybe it's me that I am not doing enough on my end, even with maybe teaching and sharing the words of God or praying for them every week or not reaching out enough to everyone, but every time I make effort they pull away. I don't want to keep pushing if they choose to reject it, especially when Jesus says not to worry if they reject me, because they are rejecting God. And not to be judgmental, but there were many people who left bc of others and their foul mouths, arrogance, pride, and only come for a good time. Idk... i don't want it to be my arrogance(?) that I want to leave; I want it to gratify God, not me. I just want to be able to go to a community that is opened up to listening, uplifting, and empowering towards God (even outside of church) and each other, not just me (and one other lady) at my own church that I go to.
should I continue serving and being patient, and see where God will take this community?
because i've also been taught that in Revelations 2:1-7, it is through God's hands that he handles the ministry to continue to prosper or be done for and that we are to continue persevering, remember my first love, and repenting till the very end to serve.
what is it that I should do with this strong love and compassion for them? should I stay or should I leave?

Wait, I thought you were catholic? You had a communion and you said you got into catholicism, so when did you transition to Christianity? Lemme finish the video in case you answered this already lol

I think when she met her friend who helped her find Christ, the friend originally introduced her to catholicism, and Emy found other/better denominations over time because she realized they were more accurate to the Bible.
