As others have said i'll need to try that spline slot cutting method, you would lose a bit of glue area but not enough to worry about. If you cut your splines at a 45 degree angle you will get more per strip of wood, I trim mine down basically the same way you do, trimmed the first few with a flush cut hand saw and a hand plane which was fun i guess but took too long.

I'm new to woodworking. Can you explain why you're measuring the height of the blade to set up for making the spline. What height are you measuring and how do you determine how far to push into the blade before you stop?
Hello, because the top and bottom have to fit somewhat Start with a height of 55. Make a test cut so that the spline does not penetrate and mark it with tape Work.
At 1:37, what is different about the blade you have in there relative to your standard 300-315mm? Are you running a dado or something different which is why you took off the splitter?
Interesting. I just bought the laguna p12 and was told by the manufacturer it could not run a dado. Super helpful to know that I can run a 5mm dado blade.

I know that only the size is different, but there is no big difference. It will depend on the size of the wood you use mainly (I make a lot of tables over 1800 mm). If the things you want to make are small things, it will be enough.

The commenter may not realise that mask wearing is generally accepted as the norm during times of sickness in east Asia (and has been for decades due to the high density urban lifestyle) and also the fact that wearing a mask for indoor woodworking is generally accepted to be good practice to avoid lung irritation and other medical complications.
