Yep, pretty much. At a certain point I chose to not let their lack of knowledge of the game trigger me and just pretend they're playing a different version of sorry.

when you slide, everyone in the slide get moved back to start, and you can only use a sorry card with the pawns you have in start. if you don’t have pawns in start, it doesn’t do anything.
