He is not with Hizbollah. He is independent he's the silver lining hope for Lebanon. He's a good man and the Lebanese people are feeling very optimistic. The Lebanese people have been suffering for a long time and now it's about time things are going to go better! Let's be optimistic!
In hopes that Lebanon becomes free of iranian influence and focuses on rebuilding a strong sovereign state, with a strong army, and good relationships with the arab countries, the US and Europe. Lebanon should never be a pawn in someone else's war.
Good thing you made clear he has no relation to Michel Aoun who was a total disaster and disgrace for Lebanon. Not saying Joseph won't also be but at least he isn't related to the Michel.
Hezbollah is a Lebanese party represented in the governments by ministers and in the parliament by PMs. The President is for all the Lebanese people equally. There were two subsequent ballot rounds for today’s presidential elections, in the first one Hezbollah and some others did not vote which lead to no President. In the second round which took place a couple of hours later, Hezbollah voted for Aoun so he gained enough votes to become president. However during his presidential speech he mentioned that weapons should be exclusively in the hand of the governments which signals that the new presidents vision does not align with Hezbollah’s.
It's an intricate situation in Lebanon. He's probably as close to anti-Hezbollah as a politician can be right now in Lebanon - without sending the country into civil war.

The regimes in Syria and Lebanon have become loyal to Saudi Arabia. It seems that 2025 is the year of Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦
