WWE Brawl was closer to Capcom's Power Stone (for the DreamCast) than it was to Smash Bros. Brawl was to be an Arena Fighting Game, not a Platform Fighting Game.
I remember walking into Walmart when I was a kid and seeing the upcoming video games soon to be released section. One that caught my eye was Smackdown: You Can't See Me. It was just a cutout of the game cover but it had John Cena and few a wrestlers behind him like the Shut Your Mouth Game Cover.

WCW Mayhem 2 is another example of why I hated the fact WCW went Under. I'm a MASSIVE fan of the 1st 2 Def Jam Games obviously(Hip Hop has been apart of my life). So imagine how good it wudda been. I miss Smackdown vs. Raw. I have SvR 2007 all the way through the final SvR. I believe it’s 2011 or 2012. But I loved SvR. It almost made you pick Red Brand or Blue Brand.
We could've had a Mario pro-wrestling game. Nintendo approached Next Level Games to develop a volleyball game with Mario characters after the success of the Super Mario Strikers games. During development, Next Level Games added in wrestling to combine with the volleyball game, which was then Super Mario Spikers. Concept art of Mario in a wrestling outfit as well as wrestling arenas based off of Mario characters were in production (Some are posted online) and there is a video of wrestling moves performed by Mario characters for the game. Although Nintendo was open to the idea, the pitch for this game didn't really go well with Nintendo, so it was axed. If it went through, it would've been released for the Nintendo Wii.
Its kinda ironic to say we never got to play SVR online because SVR came from smackdown & became the WWE & then WWE 2K series which... uh.... includes online. So, not only did we get to play it, we do so every year on the year.

WWE All Stars is just Over The Top WWE game it was a spin-off so it was a extra WWE game in 2011 which was the year when WWE 12 was gonna be released some people really love WWE All Stars including me and other people were not a fan of it which is fine it was just a extra WWE spin-off game technically.
A ROM surfaced a while ago of an early build Sega Genesis wrestling game starring Jesse "The Body" Ventura. The game was developed by HUMAN and was based on their Fire Pro Wrestling engine. It would have been the first Fire Pro game to be published in the west, predating the Gameboy Advance games by almost a decade.
I think svr online was cancelled because later that year they scrapped the svr series altogether and renamed it WWE 12 and revamped the engine. So they were probably more concerned about working on that instead of an online version of a game series they were gonna scrap later that year anyway
I remember the first Legends of Wrestling, the back of the game case stated that there was cage, ladder, barbed wire rope and scaffold matches in the game.....none of those matches were in the game

I sort of wish WCW wouldn't of dropped the ball with THQ and we would of seen WCW Live instead of Smackdown. The mechanics would of been the same as smackdown so the video game wrestling world would of still expanded similar to how it did, and if WCW would of still been bought out, Vince could of easily claimed the best selling wrestling video game franchise and dubbed it WWE Live or Raw Live. This could of also gave WCW the edge and kept it from going under. Honestly Smackdown was such a huge success for wrestling video games and a sort of revolution that could of been WCW. Plus, it would of been nice to have had one kickass WCW game(WCW NWO Revenge was the closest they came imo) before they went under. Great rosters on wwe and wcw in the late 90's.
That wouldn't surprise me at all Honestly the PS2 was so advanced I remember I still bought PS2 games up until 2012 when they completely stopped making also adding to the account that you could watch DVDs on it when (this is about to show my age.ugh!) DVD players were 90 to 120$ at some places for the non out of market ones.I remember my big sister and her friends even burning CDs on them at times just placing in a album of an artist they liked saving it Popping in the burn CD and placing that song on the copy
Im glad WCW live never came out. The Toukon engine sucked. Id love to see a new All Stars. I never got stuck playing garbage wwf/wcw games ever since I imported my first FPW on TG16 after Kei Kuboki from diehard suggested it around 90/91, havent looked back. "King of Colosseum 2" was the best 3d wrestling game imo. AKI games were great, but once you get over the learning curve, KOC was the best simulation style game. I wish it got more credit, its almost forgotten just because its most gamers didnt learn to play it. Ive played every wrestling game there is and want people to please try KOC. Its basically FPW in 3d, but with all the bells and whistles of modern, at the time, games. Esp if your a fan of 80s and 90s wrestling from Japan. I love when people complain about the 2k games, for American wrestling games, they are amazing.

Something about TR just seemed weird, all the match music sounded like a remix of "grand sword" and the annoying "klop, klop" of dazed wrestlers feet when picking them up hoping to land a big move.
brawl would of rocked .... the ECW game we wanted but never got ... also you forgot the x box arcade "wwe royal rumble " which would of been a cross between segas arcade game and wrestlefest... apparently it was released in some places but it had problems so they took it off ....

Great video, facts towards the end were incorrect. Toukon Retsuden was not the game engine for those N64 WCW titles. It was aKi.VPW2 is the GOAT.
