I recognize the Free Spirits household because I had to break them up when my Sim found out the one with dark hair wasn’t single 🤣 and Cecilia was my first wife in Cottage Living because she’s just so pretty for a premade Sim, I love her
Try this. Go into CAS and swap their gender. I do this with Mila Munch and Penny Pizzaz in all my saves. They might become more memorable if you remake them.
Fun fact about Ulrike and how forgettable she is, she has the same three traits as Holly Alto from Get Famous. Creative, Perfectionist and Art lover. That's how blend she is, everything about her revolves around painting, I once had a legacy founder marry her so I at least got some money. I always try to give more variety in the townies I interact with in each save so I did encounter some of the other families you mentioned. It's kinda sad but for me the most forgettable townies (based on my gameplay) were pretty much everyone from Tomarang. I don't know how to explain, but because of the residential rentals, the game generates random townie families (single mom with teen and a child) and most of them look way more pretty and interesting than the official ones. So my sims always end up interacting with the random ones instead of the official families. I remember after finishing a tomarang savefile and loving playing on the world and the community that my sims formed and going to a tierlist of all townies and bring like "Who are this people???" Probably the only one I interacted with was Cam Sadya but only cause I was needing a extra kid for a friend group.
Yeah, I think Ulrike needed like Mean or something instead of Perfectionist to give her a bit more spice. The only interesting thing about her is that she’s a part of the Renegades and her design I think is actually pretty solid. Otherwise, she doesn’t have a lot going on. I’d have to disagree with you on the Tomarang families, I find all of them to be quite memorable personally. Large part of it is probably that they all have queer narratives within them and the Tomarang Truth feature adds more depth to them. I also like that two of them are multi-generational, those families always stick out more in my mind. Btw most of the tenant options are actually not randomly generated, there are pre-made options available for the players. The household you mentioned f.e. is I think the Brock household composed of single mom Nancy Brock and her two kids Julie and Johnny. There’s quite a bit of pre-made tenant household, one of the rare instances where the devs put in some extra effort (if only they could put that effort into gameplay performance as well).
@@grippnosimsOh no I didn't mean the Brock family I mean the actual randomly generated ones that only exist in that savefile. The game keeps spawning them and my child sims had a whole family group (and yes Tomarang is pretty queer, most of the ones that spawn were all lesbians or bisexual), from the rental premade the ones that really caught my attention were the Lee family and I even married him in that savefil. But I've been giving Tomarang a chance in a different savefile and I kinda agree that they can be unique specially with the Tomarang Truth and dialogues talking about the past.
@@WesleiOliveira628 Oh okay, I actually didn’t know the game would spawn in randomly generated households with more than one Sim, I thought it was only single Sim households. Maybe the exception is Residential Rentals so you don’t only have single Sim options if you run out of the Pre-made Tenants. If so, that’s pretty cool that they thought of that. I love the Lees, Minsung is a certified cutie. I’d definitely encourage you to explore the Tomarang households more because I think they’re quite well fleshed out. Arturo Linh is one of my fave Pre-mades as he has that dumb Sims energy that I love (he’s this gay astronaut that’s convinced there’s bears on the moon and made it his life mission to find them to prove it, to his husband’s dismay). I also have a personal bias towards Kasem Bun Ma due to his history here on my channel haha.
@@grippnosims Fun fact, Selvadorada Tomarang and Mt Komorebi are the only worlds that spawn actual families. Tomarang spawns three people household (a mother, a teen and a child), Selvadorada is sometimes is a single parent and a kid (except for Skeletons, they normally will have five sims families but are all hidden from your game so you don't have Skeletons walking around in Willow Creek when you're back home) and in Mt Komorebi during the Festival of Snow and depending how populate is your world it can spawn a five people household (two parents, a teen, a kid and a toddler). I always pay attention to those because I like to give them makeovers and add them to the world as extra households. Sometime I save them to my library so they show up in different saves. But Tomarang was having so many new families that I barely paid attention to the official premades. Right now I have a new save with my sim married to Thi Lihn so I'll probably try to check out more of her parents before they die (but they have like only a week left I think)
I've actually interacted with more of these premades after giving them a refresh and adding some depth to them. Ive placed majority of sims in clubs so i always see them around. For example, i have a woohoo club with don lothario, j huntington and other non commital sims. Or a gardening club with some of the elderly sims. I even have a solving strangerville club with dylan sigworth, erwin pieres and the eclectic arts household and their hangout spot is at the local library.
I mainly find them memorable casue they all wear bright yellow outfits lmao. Baako also tends to pop up in my game pretty often, Anaya I actually see much less for whatever reason.
As someone who only plays with the pre-made households this list is crazy to me, but only because of the storylines they had in my save file! J Huntington III (Roomies) had a friends with benefits situation with Zoe Patel (Roomies) until he meets Dina Caliente and accidentally got her pregnant. They got married and cheated on each other throughout most of their marriage. Zoe got married to Johnny Zest and they have twin girls, something that brought Johnny closer to his family (The Landgraabs), after he became a successful comedian. Mitchell is an asexual gay sim in my game and Gavin got married to Nina Caliente, who lied to him about her daughter being Gavin's child instead of Don Lothario's. Maaike and Ulrike got engaged in my save, but Ulrike ended up cheating on her with Candy Behr and left Maaike at the altar for Candy. That was crazy! Akira and Miko were also friends with benefits, also resulting in an accidental pregnancy and got married because of their daughter. Darling transitioned (ftm) and became Devin. Cecilia Kang (New Start) had an affair with Thomas Watson from Cottage Living and they had a son, but Thomas refused to claim him as his child, because of his marriage to Rahmi. Rahmi eventually found out though, resulting in a divorce, her moving out and taking the kids with her. Thomas asked Cecilia to move in afterwards because the man cannot do household chores on his own lmao The Electic Arts household happily lived in a polyamorous relationship, Christie (Jess' daughter) moved out as a teenager, because she couldn't handle her parents' secrets anymore, and I went full rags to riches. Kaori got pregnant as a teenager by Kiyoshi Ito, Shigeru kicked her out and both Sachiko and Shigeru died before they ever made peace with Kaori and met their grandchildren. With the Elderberry's Rohan went to university, lived in the dorms, and fell in love with a man, despite having a long-term girlfriend he met as a teen and thinking he was straight. When he came back and told Ekram and Eleanore Ekram and him got in a huge fight and Ekram died of rage. Rohan and his boyfriend moved in to support Eleanore and they all lived a happy life together. Insane storylines, I'm well aware! But it was so fun and gave them all so much personality

Yeah I was super wrong about that one lmao. Even Ash Harjo predates Jay. I was going off the fanwiki which states them to be the first non-binary Sim, though I now see that they meant explicitly non-binary since they’re the first to use the term non-binary in-game through their Sequoia Secrets while Morgyn and Ash are just implied through outside information and their pronoun preferences. Though I guess that just strengthens my point of them being forgettable since they don’t even have the distinction of being the first non-binary Sim haha
I only remember the one dude with the Mohawk because, when I first started testing out island living, he was the main partner of my sim. She cheated a lot but he never caught her
I’ve played a lot in Sulani so that’s probably why they stick in my mind a bit more. The Hoapili household though is definitely a little forgettable imo.

icl after getting into the sims 2 HEAVILY i haven’t found myself getting attached to any of the sims in the sims 4. even when i used to play often i would always make sims instead of using the pre-made townies. in the sims 2 i literally never make sims haha
i agree with this list aside from the karaoke legends. akiro is a dealer in my save file 😭 i used to have miko as my sims best friend when the pack was new and darling is like one of the only teens in this game so she’s invited to all the teen functions lol
Maybe the newer packs, especially HSY, has reduced Darling’s memorability a bit since we’ve gotten so many more teen Pre-mades. I feel like I never see her, not even when I go to high school with my teens.
I remember the Nishidake and Elderberry household often bc I always pair the teens together in my games. It makes sense to me they’d at the very least be friends since they’re the only teens being raised by their grandparents
I agreed with most of them. But all 3 Nishidake's especially Kaori are everywhere in my game's (I dont play with lifespans) and Elenore Elderberry always ends up as a food stall vendor in all my games. The families i do forget about: The Rasoya's I forget about both fairly easily. The wolf family in Moonwood Mill (The Volkovs i think?) Always moves out of their home. The Hoapilis: The younger adult one easily fades into the background. And the elder is more likely spotted in San Myshuno than Sulani Bess Sterling's (husband, boyfriend, Roommate or whatever) specifically: I swear neither of them leave their home and the only reason I know Bess is because she constantly calls for donations.
Playing with aging off definitely allows for the elder Sims more time to shine, maybe I’ll try that at some point. Agree with your list, most of them don’t stick out too much, aside from the Volkov’s imo. I run into them a lot and Kristopher is an absolute icon in my eyes. I think that’s another difference with playing with aging on vs off, the occults will stick out more for players that play with aging on since they don’t die and will pop up periodically throughout multiple generations of your played family. I’m on Gen 6 of my Legacy Challenge and the Volkov’s are still hanging out in my save, as are Vlad and Lilith (Caleb died randomly two generations ago rip).
I honestly never understood why the Sims they made for marketing never made it into the game proper. I feel like they should just add them as Townies in the base game, it’s kinda weird that Alex Moyer is the only base game Pre-made Townie.
Had no clue so many of these sims outside of BG existed much less had families until a youtuber I watched interacted with them. Some of them I had no clue which packs they were from until this video.
There’s probably many of these sims that I’ve evicted to make way for my own characters without giving them a second thought. But, one of my sims recently went to uni twice and kept bumping into Eleanor Elderberry. I think she was a professor or student and part of one of my characters’ societies. And ‘cause she a pretty lady with pretty hair and has such a strong name, of course he befriended her. She might’ve even been his BFF at uni. She seemed to just be everywhere. Every social night at the pub. Every society gathering (though, not the secret society). But, pretty much nowhere outside of uni. And she stuck around for two whole degrees! Had no idea she had a husband or grandson, though
I had a sim marry Rohan Elderberry once. I genuinely thought he was a randomly made sim for the longest time and I didn’t even know he had grandparents until I watched this video 💀💀💀
One way I made some of these guys a bit more memorable was to give them a rewrite and to go into CAS and change up a lot if need be. For example, with Free Spirits, it was as simple as giving Maaike a sub-plot about a potential romance with the eldest Munch son (can't remember dudes name). Ulrikke on the other hand ends up in a club run by the youngest Villareal. While she simply humored the kid at first, she has become the unofficial baby sitter as these two teens and child are getting into trouble. Especially with the local vampires. In the case of Roomies? It was a bit more drastic. I separated the household and turned them all into teens. I then gave them parents (and siblings if I found it appropriate). I then wrote story lines for each one, using Sims 3 story telling as inspiration. This comment is already long enough so I won't go into detail but I hope this gives some people ideas on how to make them better. Assuming they don't outright delete them from the game that is.
Karaoke Legends and Nishidake family are icons in my saves. Karaoke Legends bc my grown sims always end up either with Akira or Miko (and I love the drama that ensues from it since they do have crushes on each other) and Kaori Nishidake is either always the best friend or girlfriend of my teen sims (and I also love the drama bc she has a crush on Kiyoshi Ito, who also usually ends up as the boyfriend of my teen sims). Besides that, yes, everyone else is pretty forgettable.
NGL, I did not recognize Sachiko in the thumbnail at all. I thought she was a townie. 😂 You are so right. She and Shigeru died in my save before I got a chance to play them. Poor Kaori was all alone.

Karaoke legends is the only city living household I remember specifically all the household, most of the others I only remember one of them and Akira is usually the sim I choose my sim to marry (or brent or brant, cause of the drama). And I hate the automatic fashion the other kid from that household
when i redo my worlds and townies before i play, i usually delete the roomies because i hate the fact that theyre a reference and not a real household lol
I loved playing with the Eclectic Arts household! Leslie and Mark married had a child, so did Alice and that Erwin guy, and the two children ended up together too xD
Justice for Mary tbh, even the family bio says she and Blossom adopted Knox together. I think it’s kinda cute for Olive to be Tina’s stepdaughter though, there’s not nearly enough step relationships in the game imo. Basically just the Harjo household from what I can remember.
Cecilia Kang is memorable to me because she's one of the few non-randomly generated townie NPCs that are single. Yeah she's dating the creature guy but he's even more forgettable. Last time I played my Sim dated her briefly, got her pregnant with twins, then autonomously cheated on her in front of her.
bruh I had discover university for a good while and I have never seen the elderberry family in any of my saves, I didn't even know they existed 💀💀 but tbf, ig i haven't played the pack much... or at all-
I agree on most of these and I'm treating this as a suggestion list for Sims to play with in my saves. The one exception would be the Karaoke family who always seem to turn up in my saves, particularly Darling, who has different genders across my games. Also, with Strangetown, I tend to bring in the Sims 2 Strangetown families from the gallery, so haven't paid much attention to the ones that come with the pack. The exception would probably be the guy who lives in the plane (Cavill?) The thing with elders is a good reason to turn off auto-aging non-played houses. I know it's less realistic, but then you can get to know these pre-made Sims and even play them at some later date as they were meant to be. Hey, I'm an OG Sims player who is used to my Sims either not aging or being frozen in time when I'm not playing them!
Yeah, I think making this video made me realize I should probably try doing an aging off let’s play at some point. I usually don’t as I find Sims aging to feel like I’m progressing in my gameplay and I often use in-game age as kind of a time limit or barrier. The trade off, of course, elder pre-mades die really early on lmao.

Might be a small detail, but i notice that the base game tends to have more exaggurated and conveintionally attractive faces compared to the sims in the expansion packs; infact the expansion pack sims look more like regular people lol. I think Jay is the best example of an attractive, yet exaggerated face. tbh a lot of male sims look a little off.
I personally think that any household that came after Discover University is very forgettable (with a few exceptions). A lot of times before sims looked intentional (probably because quite a few of them were in the franchise for a long time), but the new packs seems like they just pressed ‘randomize’ button few times and then added the clothes from the new pack. I literally could not name any of the people from San Sequoia, Tomarang or even Copperdale, I have no idea who lives there

I've been playing the Sims 4 for years and I don't think I've ever even seen a single member of the Roomies household out and about 😅 I honestly forgot they existed
Who's the most forgettable? Well, I'll tell you one thing, I have a long list of pre-made sims I hate; for one reason or another. There are two kinds of sims I hate: 1. The kind I wish bad things for. I play out them failing at life. 2. The kind I hate so much that I kill them with violent mods every time I start a new save file.
Mila pops up like everywhere in my game for some reason so i think that’s why she’s so iconic to me lmao, Wolfgang I also find to be among the more memorable Pre-made Sims in the game. Gunther and Lucas are somewhat forgettable though.
I had this story about teen depressed Sim, who was a victim of gr00ming from adult Sim. Dropped school, teenage pregnancy, abuse, cheating, all these bad things. Finally my teen Sim (with help of his bro-in-law and BBF Aurelio Robles) gained all courage and strenght to change his life-quit drinking, return to school, take better care of the baby, coming out and starting transition. And if course getting rid off the Mister Abusive Gr00mer. And they had this big fight in a middle of a street, you know, all this you destroyed my life, you are toxic, you are creepy stalker, leave me finally alone thing. With some punches as well And Gunther was just randomly walking down the street, then he included himself into this fight just for fun, and even when i cheated to remove him from convo he stayed there watching and visibly enjoying the whole drama 😂

Morgyn Ember from Realm of Magic would also predate Jay, but I believe they weren’t officially updated to be non-binary until after Growing Together had come out. I know you clearly stated that this is just your subjective list, and I am totally on board with hearing your opinion, but I really wanna put my subjective experience with each household you mention as I watch: Roomies - These guys, especially Mitchell, show up all the time when I play, though I'm almost certain it's because I really like the Parch Prospect neighborhood due to my obsession with Mid-Century Modern houses. I especially like renovating the premade houses Raffia Quinta and Springscape, so very often my sims will meet them all right away thanks to the Welcome Wagon. I also often actively seek out Mitchell to date because I think he's cute. That said, I 100% agree their house is unsalvageable levels of ugly. Free Spirits - The only reason this family is lodged in my memory is because when I first got the sims 4 it was the xbox version and I used Ulrike to cheese the legacy and alphabet legacy achievements through a series of adoptions, manual aging, and sending sims out in the snow naked to make room for the "next generation. I can't remember what I did with Maaike during that, but her name always reminds me of M'aiq the liar from Elder Scrolls. Karaoke Legends - I can't escape Akira, it seems like he's always everywhere I go, but he has good fashion sense imo so it's not too bad. Darling Walsh is my beloved non-binary child, they just fill me with a paternal affection even though I've never actually played out that of plotline, come to think about it I probably should. I can never remember Anime Beret's name, like I recognize her because she's got a distinct look, and it is a good look, but I just don't care. It's like there's some sort of perception filter around her. New Start - I like stealing Celia's house, and that's all I have to say about that. Well, I thought it's all I had to say until I continued the video and you informed me her name is actually Cecilia, so I guess we're on the same page with this one. Maybe I should pause after you've said your piece lol Robles-Ruano - No difference of opinion here, I never think about them. I didn't even know Jay was non-binary, I don't think I've ever even interacted with them. Tinker - I know them because they are lesbians, I also couldn't name anyone in this house but Tina though so I have to agree they are forgettable beyond being lesbians. I didn't even consider the possibility that the kid was a step-child, I think I just automatically assumed she was Tina and her wife's biological daughter because the sims lets you do that sort of thing and I do it all the time. Eclectic Arts - I only know Leslie by virtue of her being infected and often showing up with the Strangerville Welcome Wagon, I couldn't have even told you her name before watching this video. I didn't even realize she was in this household and assumed she was a townie. Sigworth - Dylan is my middle name and I have had Christie and Alexander Goth start dating in their teens many times so those two are firmly in the memorable category for me. Jess is definitely way more prominent though, really hard to disagree there. Nishidake - No notes here, I straight up didn't know Shigeru and Sachiko existed. Elderberry - These grandparents got the full brunt of Lilith Pleasant's switch to the Public Enemy aspiration in one of my playthroughs by vitue of living next-door to her. She stole half their house and fought Ekram and Eleanore countless times. I tried forcing them into a woohoo club with her to try and make them enemies with benefits and woohoo them to death, but they hated her so much they immediately kicked her out of the club. This was fun :)
I live for the chaos in your gameplay lmao In terms of Olive not being Tina’s daughter, I think it might be from a bygone era where they couldn’t make same-sex relationships have a child together when they were creating the Pre-made Sims, maybe. Idk, I just assume so because it’s the same deal with the Greenburg’s where Mary is considered Knox’ step-mom even though the family bio says she’s also his adopted mother. That’s my theory at least, not sure if it’s true or not.

The Kealoha family are mostly forgettable outside of Makota. He appears on the island living cover art and is one of those sims players get the hots for but the rest of the family just blends into the woodwork. I didn't even know till fairly recently but Duane isnt actually related to anyone in that house.
I’ve played in Sulani a fair bit so that’s probably why I remember them more then the average player. I’m also obsessed with the enigma that is Duane Talla, like where the hell did he come from? Why is he living with this random family? Who is he? I need to know! (but also kinda don’t wanna know, the mystery of it makes it more fun lmao)

Fun fact about Ulrike and how forgettable she is, she has the same three traits as Holly Alto from Get Famous. Creative, Perfectionist and Art lover. That's how blend she is, everything about her revolves around painting, I once had a legacy founder marry her so I at least got some money.
I always try to give more variety in the townies I interact with in each save so I did encounter some of the other families you mentioned.
It's kinda sad but for me the most forgettable townies (based on my gameplay) were pretty much everyone from Tomarang. I don't know how to explain, but because of the residential rentals, the game generates random townie families (single mom with teen and a child) and most of them look way more pretty and interesting than the official ones. So my sims always end up interacting with the random ones instead of the official families.
I remember after finishing a tomarang savefile and loving playing on the world and the community that my sims formed and going to a tierlist of all townies and bring like "Who are this people???" Probably the only one I interacted with was Cam Sadya but only cause I was needing a extra kid for a friend group.
Yeah, I think Ulrike needed like Mean or something instead of Perfectionist to give her a bit more spice. The only interesting thing about her is that she’s a part of the Renegades and her design I think is actually pretty solid. Otherwise, she doesn’t have a lot going on.
I’d have to disagree with you on the Tomarang families, I find all of them to be quite memorable personally. Large part of it is probably that they all have queer narratives within them and the Tomarang Truth feature adds more depth to them. I also like that two of them are multi-generational, those families always stick out more in my mind.
Btw most of the tenant options are actually not randomly generated, there are pre-made options available for the players. The household you mentioned f.e. is I think the Brock household composed of single mom Nancy Brock and her two kids Julie and Johnny. There’s quite a bit of pre-made tenant household, one of the rare instances where the devs put in some extra effort (if only they could put that effort into gameplay performance as well).
@@grippnosimsOh no I didn't mean the Brock family I mean the actual randomly generated ones that only exist in that savefile. The game keeps spawning them and my child sims had a whole family group (and yes Tomarang is pretty queer, most of the ones that spawn were all lesbians or bisexual), from the rental premade the ones that really caught my attention were the Lee family and I even married him in that savefil. But I've been giving Tomarang a chance in a different savefile and I kinda agree that they can be unique specially with the Tomarang Truth and dialogues talking about the past.
@@WesleiOliveira628 Oh okay, I actually didn’t know the game would spawn in randomly generated households with more than one Sim, I thought it was only single Sim households. Maybe the exception is Residential Rentals so you don’t only have single Sim options if you run out of the Pre-made Tenants. If so, that’s pretty cool that they thought of that.
I love the Lees, Minsung is a certified cutie. I’d definitely encourage you to explore the Tomarang households more because I think they’re quite well fleshed out. Arturo Linh is one of my fave Pre-mades as he has that dumb Sims energy that I love (he’s this gay astronaut that’s convinced there’s bears on the moon and made it his life mission to find them to prove it, to his husband’s dismay). I also have a personal bias towards Kasem Bun Ma due to his history here on my channel haha.
@@grippnosims Fun fact, Selvadorada Tomarang and Mt Komorebi are the only worlds that spawn actual families. Tomarang spawns three people household (a mother, a teen and a child), Selvadorada is sometimes is a single parent and a kid (except for Skeletons, they normally will have five sims families but are all hidden from your game so you don't have Skeletons walking around in Willow Creek when you're back home) and in Mt Komorebi during the Festival of Snow and depending how populate is your world it can spawn a five people household (two parents, a teen, a kid and a toddler). I always pay attention to those because I like to give them makeovers and add them to the world as extra households. Sometime I save them to my library so they show up in different saves. But Tomarang was having so many new families that I barely paid attention to the official premades. Right now I have a new save with my sim married to Thi Lihn so I'll probably try to check out more of her parents before they die (but they have like only a week left I think)

I've actually interacted with more of these premades after giving them a refresh and adding some depth to them. Ive placed majority of sims in clubs so i always see them around. For example, i have a woohoo club with don lothario, j huntington and other non commital sims. Or a gardening club with some of the elderly sims. I even have a solving strangerville club with dylan sigworth, erwin pieres and the eclectic arts household and their hangout spot is at the local library.

J Huntington III (Roomies) had a friends with benefits situation with Zoe Patel (Roomies) until he meets Dina Caliente and accidentally got her pregnant. They got married and cheated on each other throughout most of their marriage.
Zoe got married to Johnny Zest and they have twin girls, something that brought Johnny closer to his family (The Landgraabs), after he became a successful comedian.
Mitchell is an asexual gay sim in my game and Gavin got married to Nina Caliente, who lied to him about her daughter being Gavin's child instead of Don Lothario's.
Maaike and Ulrike got engaged in my save, but Ulrike ended up cheating on her with Candy Behr and left Maaike at the altar for Candy. That was crazy!
Akira and Miko were also friends with benefits, also resulting in an accidental pregnancy and got married because of their daughter. Darling transitioned (ftm) and became Devin.
Cecilia Kang (New Start) had an affair with Thomas Watson from Cottage Living and they had a son, but Thomas refused to claim him as his child, because of his marriage to Rahmi. Rahmi eventually found out though, resulting in a divorce, her moving out and taking the kids with her. Thomas asked Cecilia to move in afterwards because the man cannot do household chores on his own lmao
The Electic Arts household happily lived in a polyamorous relationship, Christie (Jess' daughter) moved out as a teenager, because she couldn't handle her parents' secrets anymore, and I went full rags to riches.
Kaori got pregnant as a teenager by Kiyoshi Ito, Shigeru kicked her out and both Sachiko and Shigeru died before they ever made peace with Kaori and met their grandchildren.
With the Elderberry's Rohan went to university, lived in the dorms, and fell in love with a man, despite having a long-term girlfriend he met as a teen and thinking he was straight. When he came back and told Ekram and Eleanore Ekram and him got in a huge fight and Ekram died of rage. Rohan and his boyfriend moved in to support Eleanore and they all lived a happy life together.
Insane storylines, I'm well aware! But it was so fun and gave them all so much personality

Yeah I was super wrong about that one lmao. Even Ash Harjo predates Jay. I was going off the fanwiki which states them to be the first non-binary Sim, though I now see that they meant explicitly non-binary since they’re the first to use the term non-binary in-game through their Sequoia Secrets while Morgyn and Ash are just implied through outside information and their pronoun preferences. Though I guess that just strengthens my point of them being forgettable since they don’t even have the distinction of being the first non-binary Sim haha

Maybe the newer packs, especially HSY, has reduced Darling’s memorability a bit since we’ve gotten so many more teen Pre-mades. I feel like I never see her, not even when I go to high school with my teens.
I remember the Nishidake and Elderberry household often bc I always pair the teens together in my games. It makes sense to me they’d at the very least be friends since they’re the only teens being raised by their grandparents

The wolf family in Moonwood Mill (The Volkovs i think?) Always moves out of their home.
The Hoapilis: The younger adult one easily fades into the background. And the elder is more likely spotted in San Myshuno than Sulani
Bess Sterling's (husband, boyfriend, Roommate or whatever) specifically: I swear neither of them leave their home and the only reason I know Bess is because she constantly calls for donations.
Playing with aging off definitely allows for the elder Sims more time to shine, maybe I’ll try that at some point. Agree with your list, most of them don’t stick out too much, aside from the Volkov’s imo. I run into them a lot and Kristopher is an absolute icon in my eyes. I think that’s another difference with playing with aging on vs off, the occults will stick out more for players that play with aging on since they don’t die and will pop up periodically throughout multiple generations of your played family. I’m on Gen 6 of my Legacy Challenge and the Volkov’s are still hanging out in my save, as are Vlad and Lilith (Caleb died randomly two generations ago rip).

I honestly never understood why the Sims they made for marketing never made it into the game proper. I feel like they should just add them as Townies in the base game, it’s kinda weird that Alex Moyer is the only base game Pre-made Townie.
Had no clue so many of these sims outside of BG existed much less had families until a youtuber I watched interacted with them. Some of them I had no clue which packs they were from until this video.
There’s probably many of these sims that I’ve evicted to make way for my own characters without giving them a second thought. But, one of my sims recently went to uni twice and kept bumping into Eleanor Elderberry. I think she was a professor or student and part of one of my characters’ societies. And ‘cause she a pretty lady with pretty hair and has such a strong name, of course he befriended her. She might’ve even been his BFF at uni. She seemed to just be everywhere. Every social night at the pub. Every society gathering (though, not the secret society). But, pretty much nowhere outside of uni. And she stuck around for two whole degrees! Had no idea she had a husband or grandson, though
I had a sim marry Rohan Elderberry once. I genuinely thought he was a randomly made sim for the longest time and I didn’t even know he had grandparents until I watched this video 💀💀💀
One way I made some of these guys a bit more memorable was to give them a rewrite and to go into CAS and change up a lot if need be. For example, with Free Spirits, it was as simple as giving Maaike a sub-plot about a potential romance with the eldest Munch son (can't remember dudes name). Ulrikke on the other hand ends up in a club run by the youngest Villareal. While she simply humored the kid at first, she has become the unofficial baby sitter as these two teens and child are getting into trouble. Especially with the local vampires.
In the case of Roomies? It was a bit more drastic. I separated the household and turned them all into teens. I then gave them parents (and siblings if I found it appropriate). I then wrote story lines for each one, using Sims 3 story telling as inspiration. This comment is already long enough so I won't go into detail but I hope this gives some people ideas on how to make them better. Assuming they don't outright delete them from the game that is.
Only reason I know all these is cause of the countless hours I’ve spend redesigning every single household lol.

Karaoke Legends and Nishidake family are icons in my saves. Karaoke Legends bc my grown sims always end up either with Akira or Miko (and I love the drama that ensues from it since they do have crushes on each other) and Kaori Nishidake is either always the best friend or girlfriend of my teen sims (and I also love the drama bc she has a crush on Kiyoshi Ito, who also usually ends up as the boyfriend of my teen sims). Besides that, yes, everyone else is pretty forgettable.
NGL, I did not recognize Sachiko in the thumbnail at all. I thought she was a townie. 😂 You are so right. She and Shigeru died in my save before I got a chance to play them. Poor Kaori was all alone.
The unfortunate case of Elder Sims, they just die so quickly if you’re not playing on long lifespan or with aging off

Growing Together is definitely where the quality of the Expansion Packs took a bit of a nosedive (*cough* For Rent *cough*)

Karaoke legends is the only city living household I remember specifically all the household, most of the others I only remember one of them and Akira is usually the sim I choose my sim to marry (or brent or brant, cause of the drama). And I hate the automatic fashion the other kid from that household

Cecilia Kang is memorable to me because she's one of the few non-randomly generated townie NPCs that are single. Yeah she's dating the creature guy but he's even more forgettable. Last time I played my Sim dated her briefly, got her pregnant with twins, then autonomously cheated on her in front of her.

I agree on most of these and I'm treating this as a suggestion list for Sims to play with in my saves.
The one exception would be the Karaoke family who always seem to turn up in my saves, particularly Darling, who has different genders across my games.
Also, with Strangetown, I tend to bring in the Sims 2 Strangetown families from the gallery, so haven't paid much attention to the ones that come with the pack. The exception would probably be the guy who lives in the plane (Cavill?)
The thing with elders is a good reason to turn off auto-aging non-played houses. I know it's less realistic, but then you can get to know these pre-made Sims and even play them at some later date as they were meant to be. Hey, I'm an OG Sims player who is used to my Sims either not aging or being frozen in time when I'm not playing them!
Yeah, I think making this video made me realize I should probably try doing an aging off let’s play at some point. I usually don’t as I find Sims aging to feel like I’m progressing in my gameplay and I often use in-game age as kind of a time limit or barrier. The trade off, of course, elder pre-mades die really early on lmao.

Might be a small detail, but i notice that the base game tends to have more exaggurated and conveintionally attractive faces compared to the sims in the expansion packs; infact the expansion pack sims look more like regular people lol.
I think Jay is the best example of an attractive, yet exaggerated face. tbh a lot of male sims look a little off.
I personally think that any household that came after Discover University is very forgettable (with a few exceptions). A lot of times before sims looked intentional (probably because quite a few of them were in the franchise for a long time), but the new packs seems like they just pressed ‘randomize’ button few times and then added the clothes from the new pack. I literally could not name any of the people from San Sequoia, Tomarang or even Copperdale, I have no idea who lives there

Who's the most forgettable? Well, I'll tell you one thing, I have a long list of pre-made sims I hate; for one reason or another. There are two kinds of sims I hate: 1. The kind I wish bad things for. I play out them failing at life. 2. The kind I hate so much that I kill them with violent mods every time I start a new save file.

And Gunther was just randomly walking down the street, then he included himself into this fight just for fun, and even when i cheated to remove him from convo he stayed there watching and visibly enjoying the whole drama 😂

Morgyn Ember from Realm of Magic would also predate Jay, but I believe they weren’t officially updated to be non-binary until after Growing Together had come out. I was just going by the fanwiki description, they say that Jay is the first non-binary Sim and I guess they probably mean first explicitly non-binary Sim since Jay actually uses the term non-binary in one of their San Sequoia Secrets fluff texts. My b on that one.
I love the girl sim with the short blonde hair from strangerville. I had my sim marry her but they had to divorce due to her very frequent possession that would happen every other hour 😭🙄

Nope, you’re right, I was wrong lmao. Both Morgyn and Ash Harjo came out before Jay, and I believe Ash is considered the first official one since Morgyn’s pronouns were changed after HSY came out.

I know you clearly stated that this is just your subjective list, and I am totally on board with hearing your opinion, but I really wanna put my subjective experience with each household you mention as I watch:
Roomies - These guys, especially Mitchell, show up all the time when I play, though I'm almost certain it's because I really like the Parch Prospect neighborhood due to my obsession with Mid-Century Modern houses. I especially like renovating the premade houses Raffia Quinta and Springscape, so very often my sims will meet them all right away thanks to the Welcome Wagon. I also often actively seek out Mitchell to date because I think he's cute. That said, I 100% agree their house is unsalvageable levels of ugly.
Free Spirits - The only reason this family is lodged in my memory is because when I first got the sims 4 it was the xbox version and I used Ulrike to cheese the legacy and alphabet legacy achievements through a series of adoptions, manual aging, and sending sims out in the snow naked to make room for the "next generation. I can't remember what I did with Maaike during that, but her name always reminds me of M'aiq the liar from Elder Scrolls.
Karaoke Legends - I can't escape Akira, it seems like he's always everywhere I go, but he has good fashion sense imo so it's not too bad. Darling Walsh is my beloved non-binary child, they just fill me with a paternal affection even though I've never actually played out that of plotline, come to think about it I probably should. I can never remember Anime Beret's name, like I recognize her because she's got a distinct look, and it is a good look, but I just don't care. It's like there's some sort of perception filter around her.
New Start - I like stealing Celia's house, and that's all I have to say about that. Well, I thought it's all I had to say until I continued the video and you informed me her name is actually Cecilia, so I guess we're on the same page with this one. Maybe I should pause after you've said your piece lol
Robles-Ruano - No difference of opinion here, I never think about them. I didn't even know Jay was non-binary, I don't think I've ever even interacted with them.
Tinker - I know them because they are lesbians, I also couldn't name anyone in this house but Tina though so I have to agree they are forgettable beyond being lesbians. I didn't even consider the possibility that the kid was a step-child, I think I just automatically assumed she was Tina and her wife's biological daughter because the sims lets you do that sort of thing and I do it all the time.
Eclectic Arts - I only know Leslie by virtue of her being infected and often showing up with the Strangerville Welcome Wagon, I couldn't have even told you her name before watching this video. I didn't even realize she was in this household and assumed she was a townie.
Sigworth - Dylan is my middle name and I have had Christie and Alexander Goth start dating in their teens many times so those two are firmly in the memorable category for me. Jess is definitely way more prominent though, really hard to disagree there.
Nishidake - No notes here, I straight up didn't know Shigeru and Sachiko existed.
Elderberry - These grandparents got the full brunt of Lilith Pleasant's switch to the Public Enemy aspiration in one of my playthroughs by vitue of living next-door to her. She stole half their house and fought Ekram and Eleanore countless times. I tried forcing them into a woohoo club with her to try and make them enemies with benefits and woohoo them to death, but they hated her so much they immediately kicked her out of the club.

In terms of Olive not being Tina’s daughter, I think it might be from a bygone era where they couldn’t make same-sex relationships have a child together when they were creating the Pre-made Sims, maybe. Idk, I just assume so because it’s the same deal with the Greenburg’s where Mary is considered Knox’ step-mom even though the family bio says she’s also his adopted mother. That’s my theory at least, not sure if it’s true or not.
@@grippnosims True, I just made frequent use of the ability to change whether a given sim could get pregnant or get other sims pregnant before we got science babies. Still do really, just gotta have my MPreg sometimes lol

Yup! Though as another commenter pointed out, Jay is actually not the first one lmao, just the first one to use the term non-binary for themselves. Morgyn Ember from Realm of Magic was changed to be non-binary as well and there’s a bunch of pre-made tenants from For Rent who use they/them pronouns, like Aqua Song, Kennith Houston and Yena Azad.

Grest video but im prett sure that the " first non-binary character " thing is wrong. Morgyn Ember from Realm Of Magic was said to be made to be non-binary/genderfluid by the devs and had their pronouns changed to they/them as soon as the update for it came out
Yeah you’re right, I was wrong about that one, my b. Ash Harjo is actually the first official non-binary Sim as pointed out by another commenter, I believe the Morgyn update was after High School Years came out, or at least after Ash was revealed in the HSY trailer.
@@grippnosims true, but Morgyn DOES have custom gender settings + was made with being non-binary in mind, so even without the pronoun update they were clearly meant to be non-binary, so it is still technically Morgyn. Unless high school years came before ROM cuz I honestly forgot lol

The Kealoha family are mostly forgettable outside of Makota. He appears on the island living cover art and is one of those sims players get the hots for but the rest of the family just blends into the woodwork. I didn't even know till fairly recently but Duane isnt actually related to anyone in that house.
I’ve played in Sulani a fair bit so that’s probably why I remember them more then the average player. I’m also obsessed with the enigma that is Duane Talla, like where the hell did he come from? Why is he living with this random family? Who is he? I need to know! (but also kinda don’t wanna know, the mystery of it makes it more fun lmao)
