My sister and I started singing Connie's songs in our country music family band in the mid-1960s. The audiences loved it! Our band played behind several famous country stars at the time with Bobby Bare gracing our household after 'Detroit City' came out. This was in Alaska. My two favorite female vocalists are Karen Carpenter and Connie. It would be amazing to hear Connie sing 'Top of the World'. Thanks for bringing Constance back on stage, Marty, congratulations for marrying the love of your life - she is, indeed, a very special lady as she never needed to be dressed or present herself as a sexualized country star - she has always been...just Connie.... with her genuine sweet smile, bubbly personality and outstanding vocals. Your marriage is what country music is all about with age difference being no obstacle to true love. Love you Marty, Connie and your fabulous band of outstanding musicians. I use some of your music with my own country family band "Time Machine!" - it's amazing how the younger generation of musicians is attracted to the country music genre. ❤I’m 71 years old man who has been an underground coal miner, Homebuilder and building inspector, worked hard all my life and made a lot of money and retired. Marty talked about the similarity during the night. He even told John Prine right after he wrote the song. But since it was never recorded and during this show back in 2021 was a first time Marty sang it in public, I think it's OK. Mr. Prine didn't have any problem with it, as Marty said.

Maybe when Marty Stuart wrote I think Marty was trying to express his feelings about connie and maybe because she was going away for a few days and he saw going to miss her a lot and that is why Marty wrote this song and gave it to told not to listen to it until she got on plain maybe he want to didn't to his as his face because he was falling in love with her and more than that I think it might have been as was watching the plain leaving her. More over l don't think at Marty wanted her to him in tears and so when he gave her the the song that he had written a specially
for her.
