  • September 2024 in Prague with extreme weather. A week ago the temperature was +31, and already in 5 days it was +9 and incessant rain. For several days it has been raining all over the Czech Republic and strong winds are blowing, breaking trees.
Some cities and regions of the Czech Republic are in a difficult situation. People are being evacuated due to severe flooding.
In Prague, the Vltava River has overflowed its banks, but so far the situation is under control. The water level is constantly monitored.
Take care of yourselves and your families.

I'm sorry. The situation in the Czech Republic is also difficult, Prague suffered the least.
Unfortunately, man is often powerless before the forces of nature.

The sun is already shining in Prague, the last rain was on Monday. According to the weather forecast it will be sunny and +20 all this week.
The water in the river will not go away immediately, but in Prague everything was fine. Don't worry. Have a good trip.

Nature is strong and powerful. Man is constantly trying to overcome the power of nature, but it is not always possible.

I feel for you. Today is the first day without rain in Prague. I know there is a lot of damage and it takes time for the water to go away. It's a tragedy.

It's safe, don't be afraid. Prague was the least affected. And the rains are over and the water will start to recede soon. Luckily for Prague, this flood was not that bad.
Unfortunately, other Czech cities suffered more.

What a silly video. Filming from the level meter without showing the water level ... on the meter :-)

It would be silly of me to climb the fence at the river and give you specific numbers on how much the water has risen. Let the meteorologists do that. You can see in the video that the water level has risen quite a lot. For example, at the very beginning it is perfectly visible that the embankment is flooded and lanterns and backs of benches stick out of the water.
It would be even more stupid to fall into the water and drown, just so that someone would appreciate (or not) the video about the water level.
