Thank you for posting your videos. I recently took up Scribus and assembled our community newsletter (68-page booklet) in it - a task taking 20 hours. It took 5 hours for the first 3 pages, mainly discovering the user-interface. Then I sped up as I set up styles, master pages and scrapbook entries.
There are some features of Scribus that are somewhat opaque and poorly documented.
Symbols is one of these. Whatever they are, they are not symbols. I found a "feature" in which a scrapbook entry consisting of a text frame with several styled paras partially lost the styling when pasted out the scrapbook. But when I converted the same to a symbol and saved to scrapbook, the para styling was retained. Weird. I read somewhere that patterns and symbols were the same thing, which is also weird.
Inline is another. It appears to be a way to get "anchored" images to appear in text. At least, that's what I achieved with it.
And Marks is another. It's a poor name for variable text strings. Potentially very useful, but the casual user won't find them unless they look really hard (like I did).
If you are looking for topics to touch on, please consider the above.

Thanks for taking the time to provide your input and experience. We agree that free software generally suffers from documentation, especially as it pertains to practical examples.
