That was such a long feeding and I thought E2 was getting nothing. Do the dads feed and help in the nest in this particular species or just primary hunters? I have seen some of the European eagles don’t participate as much. I have to say - that is one beautiful bird. Really gorgeous coloration. The babies seem a little bit larger than baldies at same age. Thanks for this very detailed and special footage of these booted eagles. Would enjoy seeing the outcome. 👍🏻

The dad of this nest only hunts and does not seem to have any feeding skills, but I will continue to observe and learn from their behavior. Thank you for watching and commenting.

@ I have viewed the Latvian and Bucovina golden eagles. Males only hunt and have no chick duties. One of the experts noted that the first born is almost always female in those species. That’s a lot of advantages for the first born also being larger in size. From my observations, the second chicks gets starved out and bullied and are then eliminated by sibling or parent for good. Look at the lil 2nd chick here in the intro is resting as far away as he could possibly be from the first born waiting for mom to return. This chick was adapting quickly to his lower status and catching onto the art of self-preservation. Then you observe the American SWFL pair and see how co-parenting and also some tandem feedings has reduced tension in the nest.
I have MA in Human Development and I love finding and observing the patterns of behavior. I am always hunting for the commonalties and noting differences in style and wondering why. Thanks for responding. Are you located in Japan? I follow their lowland gorillas in zoo. Shabani troop.

Does anyone know if there's both parents or just One parent taking care of the babies

For now, it seems that dad is only hunting, but I hope to continue observing their behavior and make some new discoveries.
