The 1st thing you can do to stabilize people and help them stay in their homes - IS PAY THEM A LIVING WAGE. An economic system that allows the wealth created in the richest country in the world to get swallowed up by less and less people is corrupt and unhealthy. Right now, in 2023, three families own more wealth than the bottom half in this country. We are quickly becoming an Oligarchy where a small group of people own and control all the power in the country. Dan may be a nice person, he didn't create this system, but in a fair, healthy economic system THERE SHOULD BE NO BILLIONAIRES while half the citizens are so underpaid they could not raise $1,000 in an emergency.
You should just set the money on fire. At least you can get warm.

I completely disagree about "listening to the community", Not having preconceptions is one thing, but "listening to the community" is itself a euphemism for following the preconceptions of self anointed community leaders who have nothing better to do with there time but tell other people how to spend their money.

Even though a few buildings look a little better than they did before, most of that $500 million will "disappear," with overall conditions in Detroit continuing to deteriorate. With that in mind, he is flushing $500 million down Detoilet.
