Shiromaru Station has an average daily ridership of just 74 passengers as of 2010, holding the title for the lowest ridership among JR stations in Tokyo. The surrounding area has only a few houses and no commercial facilities, making it quite difficult to live without a car.
As you head west in Tokyo, the elevation increases and the mountainous landscape becomes more prominent, allowing you to experience a different atmosphere compared to urban centers like Shinjuku and Shibuya, which I find quite appealing!
Of course, it's also easily accessible by train! (About a 2-hour ride on the Chuo Rapid Line.)
