But I got accumulated quickly since I love warmth, the toughest part was not seeing snow and missing all the traditional food items in Germany I miss my Döner Kebab and Curry wurst 😭

Born and raised in northern nertherlands; i go to almost each weeks market to buy my favorite loempia and i have never heard of deep fried nuts.. based on your reaction i'm giving this a try myself!

You should come back. The market was only on the Beestenmarkt because of covid-19. Now it is back on its original place around the Nieuwe Rijn and even more cosy than on the Beestenmarkt. I live just a 10 minutes walk from it and try to go every Saturday for some cheese, fish, nuts, vegetables, fruit... and bread from Mamie Gourmande (the best French boulangerie outside France).
The market looks great! You might be interested in checking out the biggest outside market of Europe in The Hague, 10 minutes from Leiden. It is open every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday :)
The weird cookie you had is a bitterkoekje it's made from bitter almonds egg whites and sugar. We Dutch use the term cookie more loosely than English people would

You should've tried the loempia/eggroll stand in the Haarlemmerstraat! They have one of the best loempia's in the Netherlands. And yeah I've tried a lot of them in the most big cities haha. Even the hot sauce is delicious and homemade!

He forgot to tell you, that they were fried twice. First in the right pan at 150°c, then cooled on the shelf above and then fried the second time in the left pan at 170°c! Snacks at 180°c. 🧐 That's the way we fry in The Netherlands! 😋👌🏼😉

Haha i requested yesterday that you should eat a frikandelbroodje. These are not the same as the one i meant tough. You should get one in a supermarket. Packed in dough and with curry in there. Those are gold. Very popular expecially among teenagers. My fav Dutch snack❤️ and drop (liquorice)
I think you would also rly like Noordwijk! I used to live there and my parents still do. It used to be a seaside resort for the nazi’s during WW2. It has a beach and many historical places like the Atlantic Wall which was build during WW2. It’s best to visit in the summer, that’s when the town rly comes to life.

The 2nd nut stand called "ILIAS" is very well known in the Netherlands, they have delicious peanut butter.
