I've noticed some lively discussion in the replies here and while I totally respect your love for Cloud and Tifa, I hope we can all appreciate the beauty of different ships. I've already seen the Tifa date and thought it was very cute but that's going to be the next video and not this one. How about we spread the love and keep the fandom a positive space for everyone? Agreed! Cloti (Cloud + Tifa) is a completely valid ship just as much as Claerith (Cloud + Aerith). Respect everyone’s preferences and opinions, have constructive debates not arguments and we’ll all make this FFVII fandom a much better place.
I ended up with Tifa for the ch8 date and Nanaki for this date, on my original playthrough. I went back postgame and saw all the dates. While I love Aerith and it absolutely wrecked me, back when I first played the game around 2002, I think it is kind of sad that he ends up with Tifa in AC but is still pining for Aerith. Tifa deserved his love just as much. I know it isn't canon or normal for a story like this but kinda wish Aerith did survive and they formed a throuple. All three deserve true happiness, especially with all they went through to save everybody else.
The story really comes full circle if you get the date with Aerith. For me, it makes a lot of scenes in the later part of the game make more scenes and bear more emotional weight.
Kinda reminds me of that Mandy Moore song...... "I wanna be with you, there's nothing more to say, there's nothing else I want more than to feel this way"
The OG scene was "words drowned by fireworks", and you can see Cloud say something to Aerith as they clasp hands. Everyone always wants to hear the pre-recorded dialogue (Cody at the altar, Brianna in the sector 6 park), but I think it's better if we never know in this case (we can figure out the other two examples anyway, so who cares).

The OG date by default is with Aerith (which is Canon) and that will never change no matter how much Tifa and Zack fans beg for fanservice. Aerith's deep connection with Cloud and her loss is the soul of FF7
There is buildup with both Aerith and Tifa. Cloud and Tifa are literally about to kiss in Gongaga no matter who you chose to date. The beauty of this game is it's the player's choice

Tifa knows Sephiroth is influencing Cloud and that the real Cloud was always there for her. The whole reason Cloud tried to join SOLDIER in the first place was to impress Tifa. If you've played the OG, you'd know Tifa is the one who repairs Cloud's mind. So the scene is very well written. It's fine whatever ship you prefer, but it would be nice if Clerith shippers respected Cloti and vice versa. There is buildup with both girls and it's the player's choice

Cloti’s are by far the most ravenous, hateful, vindictive, disingenuous fandom I’ve ever come across in decades lol They do anything and everything to discredit and downplay Clerith. So much so their justifications result in the most convoluted, head spinning theories and reasons ever discerned by human.

2 Things. I always love your genuine reactions and this is a 100% canon date. The entirety of the Loveless + Skywheel scenes fits perfectly with Rebirths story without lessening what’s to come in the sequels.

This game practically revolves around aerith and her importance to the FF7 multiverse... Like ther eare literal story beats that focus solely on her and relegate Tifa to a supporting character. The way its written, It would only make sense for aerith storybeats to be the most canon.
Aerith is more important to the story than Tifa. BUt as love interest for Cloud, this game makes clear canon interest is Tifa. There are two kisses scenes, both with Tifa and neither with Aerith. The dreamd/date scene with Aerith isnt even with Remake/Rebirth Aerith but with OG Aerith of the lifestream. Square knows well how the story ends...Cloud with Tifa, and Aerith with Zack in the lifestream.

I love this new Cid, talking about doing right by Aerith. It’s such a small thing but it means that Ifalna met least one stand-up guy with her daughter before the end. That stuff matters.
Just give Cloud and Aerith their happy ending in the third installment. Imagine how Cloud feels when someone he really love and care about is no longer with him, it is a burden that is so hard to take and he have to endured it for a long time. Always the memories of Aerith be in his mind and heart forever. Can you imagine that feeling of guilt and loneliness he felt all those time. Those famous lines when Aerith was killed by Sephiroth is totally a person who is so in love. Those who have been in love (in the real world) knows that all the behavior, and his actions towards Aerith is really what a person do when they are really in LOVE with someone. He smiles, talk and listen whenever he is with Aerith. You can't deny that the whole story in Remake and Rebirth that Aerith is the ONE and ONLY love interest of Cloud. She is not Optional but THE ONE for Cloud. Period. Love to see the third installment be the happy ending that everyone would like to see. Let Cloud if he was ever in Kingdom Hearts or any other game be a happy one knowing that Aerith is still alive and with him forever. He suffers too much already. I hope that the title of the FF7 would be Reunite, The happy ending that people have waited for decades. Let the people who played the OG FF7 have something to feel good about knowing that the happy ending is coming in the third installment.
Lovely reaction, loved it so much. I cried a lot aswell. This part of the game is brutal, but beautiful. Sometimes I really wish I was at the place of cloud, and share my life with aerith or tifa.
I think you really nailed it on the head there - he needs to let her know how he feels (possibly let everyone know how he feels about them). If you saw the full Barret "date" it needs no explaining. I have to wonder if this isn't the journey/trial Cloud will go on in part 3 because so much of the OG lifestream scene/memories has already been covered between Gongaga and CC Reunion.
As mush as i would love to see cloud end up with aerith, if she is his true love. I also love the Zack aerith ship a lot more. Cloud doesn't convince enough that he loves aerith more than Zack does. To me, it would be a crime to ship aerith and cloud full knowing how mush Zack loves Aerith. Untop that Tifa loves clouds just as mush! So that ship makes the obvious sense!
For me personally I always felt Clerith made sense for most of FF7 and Cloti made sense near the end and post-FF7. It just feels more emotionally satisfying this way.
I love that it really looks like a date even on Clouds part. I'm sorry for Tifa shipers but the way she interacts with Cloud is friends hanging out. Not wanting to brag but that's me with every friend that is a girl when we are out.
I'm happy you got the date you wanted. I think the reason for some of the strange comments in the section is because of the title you put for the video saying that this is canon. That doesn't excuse any weird behavior but I think it made some people click on the video and comment before even watching the video. The developers made this game in a way that either Aerith or Tifa will make sense if you take them on a date. That way people on both sides can be happy. I'm sorry you are getting weird comments. People should be able to like who they want. But I'm pretty sure it is the title of the video that is a big reason this is happening. It is bringing in people who haven't watched you before because of the title. The whole waifu wars is exhausting. Both characters are amazing in their own way. The developers blatantly made Aerith and Tifa's friendship stronger in this to be like "See, they can be friends, so you don't need to hate one just because you like the other"
I don't think it's that the title has canon in it that is bringing the negative comments. I've been on plenty 'Cloud and Tifa are canon' vids and most don't have weird comments or many at all. It's just that people don't want Cloud and Aerith showcased as romantic. Or they are here to annoy Aruuu because they have nothing better to do lol
Trust me. While it might be in part due to the title, it's definitely not just people who haven't watched her before. I watched the video the moment it was uploaded, and there were pretty much immediately comments telling her she was wrong. They would have had to be subscribed to her to comment that soon to the video
The scene is very well written and represents both characters very well, the shyness, low self-esteem and depression that Cloud suffers and how Aerith throughout the entire game tries to help him overcome it with comments like "I'm trying so hard to find you" is just one of the clear examples. the aerith date was peak! i remember the devs saying in the ultemania that that it was important for them to keep aerith's date similar to the OG and i'm so glad they did that, it's literally the OG aerith date but expanded. also i love how shy/nervous cloud looked when he interlocked feelings with her, so so cute! the slow-burn is real with these two but slow-burn makes the pay-off so much better imo
The other date isn't better, it's actually really stilted. They can't even make eye contact afterwards and Cloud bolts. It just emphasizes the devs' saying all the dates are there as fan service separate from the main game. None are shown in the credits, but Aerith as Rosa sure is.
Yikes the amount of upset Tifa fans in the comments is sad to see. Some of you guys obviously don't watch her stream so just a heads up she already reacted to all the dates and liked all of them. Aerith is just her preference and there's nothing wrong with that. Stop trying to ruin someone else's enjoyment of their ship. That being said this is peak. Square Enix really fed all the Clerith fans this game. Really loved all of Cloud and Aerith interactions and I'm looking forward to see what's next in part 3.
As someone who doesn't care abt ships, I find it funny that Tifa and Cloud have some intimate moments in part 3 where there's more moments between them together there. Rebirth is Solely a Clerith game and honestly it's cute. I don't understand the hate here in the comment section. It is what it is.
@Ken-sj1ve tbf what other option is there? The only other competition for Tiffa got smoked (which crushed my soul). Tiffa helps his mental a lot throughout part 3 but that statement is just stating obvious at the end of the day

hey aru, just wanna say thanks so much for igniting my love for clerith again. i played the og in 1997 when i was 13 years old. im 40 now, married, and work as a manager in an IT company. when remake and rebirth came out i wanted to play them so badly but i had no time and energy so i just watched your playthrough and i enjoyed them greatly (especially your love and excitement for clerith) aerith's death was so heartbreaking and my teenage self couldnt move on from it for so long. just so you know clerith is canon too in my old ass opinion and do ignore them clerith haters they are annoying since 1997. thank you and your team for uploading videos for us old and new fans. it's refreshing to see and share the sentiment :'))) much love from malaysia ❤
After ive encountered tons of people who misinterpret the aerith date specifically, i made an analysis on the date. For those who cant udnerstand how the aerith/clerith date is romantic, you can read this. At the start of the date, he sits apart from her because he's both shy and unsure how she feels about zack right now. Yet at the first sign of possible danger, his first instinct is to move her out of the way of it(similar to when they're falling at the end of chapter 13 and his first instinct is to pull her in close and take the full force of the fall himself). After getting so close that they were mere inches away from kissing, both of them get very shy and sit down. However, they are visibly closer than when the date started. They start having fun, but aerith can see that something is still keeping cloud from being fully in the moment. She can tell he's probably thinking about her and zack. Knowing this, she tells him that his similarity to zack was what peaked her interest, but also reassures him that that's not why she's with him now and that she's happy with him now. She tells him that she's trying to find him(don't let this distract you from the fact that cloud acts less and less like his soldier persona when around aerith due to liking her, relating to her, and her natural ability to break down his barriers). Cloud starts to bring up zack again, but aerith tells him tifa didn't tell her anything as a way to keep this *their* moment. You can see he's trying to think what to do next in that moment. That's when aerith gets in close to him and hugs his arm, sharing a sweet moment. He then holds her hand, which is extremely meaningful(and frankly, more intimate than the kiss with tifa imo) because he's had a fear of rejection ever since he was a kid, and he's carried them with him into his adulthood. He definitely wanted to be closer to aerith earlier in the date, but an action involving that level of vulnerability to hold hands with aerith like that is scary for him since he has this fear of rejection. But he allowed himself to be vulnerable with her and actually took the step of holding her hand, showing her that he truly cares for her deeply(loves her). He turns to her with what I consider a very vulnerable look, and she responds by smiling and reciprocating. A few moments later, they hold hands tighter and continue to enjoy the moment.
I know NPTK has been stated by Nojima to be about everyone Aerith cared/cares for, but to me it doesn’t hold up. The flow and lyrics appear to be about just her and one other person, which is why everyone thought that. I’ve checked the lyrics in both English and Japanese and 5/6 out of the 8 parts seem to be about Clerith as they are specifically tied to how and where they met. Even the LOVELESS play is tied to their relationship, how they part, and it’s the name of the street they met on. Aerith looks at Cloud after saying “until I met you” no matter what, regardless of if he’s alone or with someone. On the official Japanese Square-Enix site on the theme song page, it’s a pic of Clerith’s date in the background. The trailer that coincided with the theme song performance by Loren Allred was focused on Clerith. The singer herself only mentioned Cloud and Aerith in regards to the song, both before Rebirth’s release, and after. The song also plays in the background at a particular time, which I won’t spoil as Aruuu hasn’t reached that part yet.

It especially doesn't hold up when you read the japanese lyrics and you come to that line where she sings about "the two of us" While I can see why Nojima made that statement, he clearly gives us hints in the lyrics what this song is really about.
Bro, the body language in this scene is soo crazy, Square really nailed the subtle things in there looks and posture. Someone did their homework, and the end when they hold hands, I like to believe Aerith said “I’m trying soo hard to find you.”, and him being shy and finally gathering the courage to look her in the eye, the “real” him came out for a moment, the look of surprise in her eyes with him doin all that
When you realize that both Cloud and Aerith are always looking for each other. Cloud is always looking for the Promised Land to be with her and Aerith wants to meet the real Cloud. A love story that has been going on for almost 30 years, hopefully in the third part the two will meet again. I'm not someone who is passionate about love stories but I definitely fell in love with this one.
Cloud ends up OG with Tifa, and in Advent Children they are living together and have adopted children and Aerith is with Zack in the lifestream. I think Cloud and Aerith shippers are working extra hard considering the outcome that was deciden 27 years ago.

Cloud and Tifa's living arrangement is covered in "On the way to a Smile," and there's no romantic implication there whatsoever. Cloud is only living at the bar temporarily while Barret is away on business, he has his own room (which he decorates with paraphernalia to remind him of Aerith) and his own bed which he sleeps in. He also spends most of his time actively avoiding Tifa and straight-up leaves when she gives him push-back on Denzel (whom Cloud only wants to adopt in the first place because he's convinced that Aerith sent him). Marlene already has a father. Cloud and Tifa don't adopt her because that would be messed up, honestly. Cloud spends all of AC pining for Aerith and ignoring Tifa. "Good friends who stay in close contact." That's the description given to Cloud and Tifa in the official Dirge of Cerberus guidebook. Meanwhile, Aerith is described as being "forever engraved in Cloud's heart." There are also the myriad interviews given by the writers themselves stating that the love triangle will always be open-ended and up to player interpretation. Somebody is indeed working "working extra hard" to justify their delusions, but it isn't who you think it is, mate.

Cloud AC is a complete emo, mourning the end of FFVII and geostigma disease, and the plot is how he has to be put again on track first by a Tifa lecture, and second by Zack and Aerith who put himself on track while confronting Sephiroth. Zack and Aerith, who are toghether in the lifestream. Nobody is waiting for him there.

In the OG ending Cloud saves Tifa and while doing it he says i think i can meet her there (lifestream) and Tifa says yes lets go meet her (even she understands Cloud loves Aerith), i mean you don't talk about another girl while trying to save Tifa. If the OG ending, the default date and the advent children depression Cloud is not enough to convince people, we talk about serious denial.
Anybody that says this theme song isn’t about Cloud and Aerith is an idiot lol The evidence was astronomical up until Nojima was getting death threats and harassed by the most toxic fandom in the world. Then he made the comment that the song CAN be about multiple different things. Even though weeks prior Nobou and Allred said it was definitely about Cloud and Aerith’s relationship and feelings for each other. Nojima will make a comment saying it’s about them within a few years. Once he feels the rabid fandom will calm down. Square has done this numerous times. Just like when they said the Whisperers wouldn’t appear again…..because all of the purists hated it.

If you think about what the major components of Aerith's Gold Saucer date are - she confesses to Cloud, she's looking for the real Cloud, and they hold hands- they all happen even if you don't get her date. Dream date she confesses to Cloud. Sleeping forest she's looking for the real Cloud. When you beat Sephiroth they hold hands.

Chapter 12 will always be one of the highlights of Rebirth. The music, the voice acting, the cinematic cutscenes etc. For me, I had Aerith as my date and I made sure I had high affinity with her for my gameplay. Of course, the game’s ending hurts more but we’ll leave that for later. Thanks for the video! ❤

I was Cloti in OG but have to admit that playing Remake and Rebirth tilted me towards Clerith. Just my personal opinion, but it does feel that developers are pointing you towards that direction. Cloud needs to feel needed that is why he felt good that Tifa wanted him to be her hero. However with all the bad things that happened to her, Tifa became too independent to a point that Cloud felt she did not need his protection anymore. This, along with Cloud feeling that he failed her. One manifestation of this is when Cloud just allowed Tifa to just go to Don Corneo by herself. For Aerith it just feels different. Cloud is so protective of her. When there was a sandstorm in Corel, Cloud’s instinct was to shield Aerith. During the fight in the Costa del Sol beach, I actually chose to battle alongside Tifa and felt immediately bad when Hojo captured Aerith first. I was heartbroken hearing Aerith scream Cloud’s name as if pleading him to save her. If it is Tifa that was captured first I think she just says something like “let go”. Aerith goes out of her way to make Cloud feel needed to a point that it is Cloud that ends up needing Aerith more (if that makes any sense). I love Tifa more than I loved her in OG but I think Cloud and Aerith are the ones really meant for one another.
How so are developers pointing you towards Clerith? This is the MOST interaction they will have and in Rebirth there are two kiss scenes and the two are with Tifa and neither with Aerith.

Aerith's date being the only one referenced in the main story. And only her scenes in the credits. And Jessie was the first option to get a kiss and we all know it meant nothing. And now Tifa and Yuffie. Aerith is the only one left. I wonder why that is. Almost like they're saving it for last or something.

The way he talks to Aerith from the remake and rebirth, you can sense that how he feels about her, he listen to her and encourage her when ever she wants to give up. In the remake, Cloud asked the flowers to learn to talk to her. I just sense from the remake and rebirth the feeling of love between them, whenever they are together. The Beach scene, the sneaking photo taking scene, the dream scene and so many more. I also feel that in AC, Cloud still felt guilt of not saving Aerith. The feeling of love for Aerith was so real that it hurts him so much. Did you notice that the sneak photo taking of Aerith by Cloud, because I think in OG, he did have any photo of her to look at or to remember her by and in AC, the flower on his desk remind him of her. And the song Hollow, you can sense that was the Cloud song for Aerith. And the song instrumental was played for the first time when Aerith enter the orphan, and cloud was alone. Loveless was absolutely incredible and ‘No Promises To Keep’ broke me into tears like I knew it would! 😭 Also the Skywheel scene was absolutely magical! I wish they would’ve kissed but when Cloud and Aerith held hands in a Lover’s Tie, I cried! 🥹 I was so happy! Cloud and Aerith have found each other and their relationship is Canon in my eyes! I really think that if Clerith got a kiss it wouldn't have made any sense narratively speaking. It wasn't a fanservice date and was meant to tie into the story since it's mentioned throughout the game. Why would she kiss someone who isn't all there right now? Cloud doesn't really know himself and Aerith wants to find the real Cloud. Once that happens, I'm sure it will be followed by an incredibly scene!

But theres only one with kiss...Cloud and Tifa. Just as the same as in Gongaga. And in Remake3 Cloud and Tifa relationship turns real as in OG. Cloud and Aerith in OG was a platonic thing that never was because tragedy, but here in Rebirth is nearly nothing.

I ended up with Tifa for the ch8 date and Nanaki for this date, on my original playthrough. I went back postgame and saw all the dates. While I love Aerith and it absolutely wrecked me, back when I first played the game around 2002, I think it is kind of sad that he ends up with Tifa in AC but is still pining for Aerith. Tifa deserved his love just as much. I know it isn't canon or normal for a story like this but kinda wish Aerith did survive and they formed a throuple. All three deserve true happiness, especially with all they went through to save everybody else.
The story really comes full circle if you get the date with Aerith. For me, it makes a lot of scenes in the later part of the game make more scenes and bear more emotional weight.

The OG scene was "words drowned by fireworks", and you can see Cloud say something to Aerith as they clasp hands. Everyone always wants to hear the pre-recorded dialogue (Cody at the altar, Brianna in the sector 6 park), but I think it's better if we never know in this case (we can figure out the other two examples anyway, so who cares).

The whole reason Cloud tried to join SOLDIER in the first place was to impress Tifa. If you've played the OG, you'd know Tifa is the one who repairs Cloud's mind. So the scene is very well written.

This game practically revolves around aerith and her importance to the FF7 multiverse... Like ther eare literal story beats that focus solely on her and relegate Tifa to a supporting character. The way its written, It would only make sense for aerith storybeats to be the most canon.
Aerith is more important to the story than Tifa. BUt as love interest for Cloud, this game makes clear canon interest is Tifa. There are two kisses scenes, both with Tifa and neither with Aerith. The dreamd/date scene with Aerith isnt even with Remake/Rebirth Aerith but with OG Aerith of the lifestream. Square knows well how the story ends...Cloud with Tifa, and Aerith with Zack in the lifestream.

Just give Cloud and Aerith their happy ending in the third installment. Imagine how Cloud feels when someone he really love and care about is no longer with him, it is a burden that is so hard to take and he have to endured it for a long time. Always the memories of Aerith be in his mind and heart forever. Can you imagine that feeling of guilt and loneliness he felt all those time. Those famous lines when Aerith was killed by Sephiroth is totally a person who is so in love. Those who have been in love (in the real world) knows that all the behavior, and his actions towards Aerith is really what a person do when they are really in LOVE with someone. He smiles, talk and listen whenever he is with Aerith. You can't deny that the whole story in Remake and Rebirth that Aerith is the ONE and ONLY love interest of Cloud. She is not Optional but THE ONE for Cloud. Period.
Love to see the third installment be the happy ending that everyone would like to see. Let Cloud if he was ever in Kingdom Hearts or any other game be a happy one knowing that Aerith is still alive and with him forever. He suffers too much already.

Lovely reaction, loved it so much. I cried a lot aswell. This part of the game is brutal, but beautiful. Sometimes I really wish I was at the place of cloud, and share my life with aerith or tifa.
I think you really nailed it on the head there - he needs to let her know how he feels (possibly let everyone know how he feels about them). If you saw the full Barret "date" it needs no explaining. I have to wonder if this isn't the journey/trial Cloud will go on in part 3 because so much of the OG lifestream scene/memories has already been covered between Gongaga and CC Reunion.
Calling it now part 3 will end with the reunion of Cloud and Aerith in the future.

I'm happy you got the date you wanted. I think the reason for some of the strange comments in the section is because of the title you put for the video saying that this is canon. That doesn't excuse any weird behavior but I think it made some people click on the video and comment before even watching the video. The developers made this game in a way that either Aerith or Tifa will make sense if you take them on a date. That way people on both sides can be happy. I'm sorry you are getting weird comments. People should be able to like who they want. But I'm pretty sure it is the title of the video that is a big reason this is happening. It is bringing in people who haven't watched you before because of the title.

the aerith date was peak! i remember the devs saying in the ultemania that that it was important for them to keep aerith's date similar to the OG and i'm so glad they did that, it's literally the OG aerith date but expanded. also i love how shy/nervous cloud looked when he interlocked feelings with her, so so cute! the slow-burn is real with these two but slow-burn makes the pay-off so much better imo
The other date isn't better, it's actually really stilted. They can't even make eye contact afterwards and Cloud bolts. It just emphasizes the devs' saying all the dates are there as fan service separate from the main game. None are shown in the credits, but Aerith as Rosa sure is.
Yikes the amount of upset Tifa fans in the comments is sad to see. Some of you guys obviously don't watch her stream so just a heads up she already reacted to all the dates and liked all of them. As someone who doesn't care abt ships, I find it funny that Tifa and Cloud have some intimate moments in part 3 where there's more moments between them together there. Rebirth is Solely a Clerith game and honestly it's cute. I don't understand the hate here in the comment section. It is what it is.

I’m so glad that Rebirth decided to write that Cid and Aerith had a connection because of him helping both Aerith and Ifalna many years ago. Especially considering how Aerith thought she was alone until this reveal.

hey aru, just wanna say thanks so much for igniting my love for clerith again. i played the og in 1997 when i was 13 years old. im 40 now, married, and work as a manager in an IT company. when remake and rebirth came out i wanted to play them so badly but i had no time and energy so i just watched your playthrough and i enjoyed them greatly (especially your love and excitement for clerith) aerith's death was so heartbreaking and my teenage self couldnt move on from it for so long. just so you know clerith is canon too in my old ass opinion and do ignore them clerith haters they are annoying since 1997. thank you and your team for uploading videos for us old and new fans. it's refreshing to see and share the sentiment :'))) much love from malaysia ❤
After ive encountered tons of people who misinterpret the aerith date specifically, i made an analysis on the date. For those who cant udnerstand how the aerith/clerith date is romantic, you can read this.
At the start of the date, he sits apart from her because he's both shy and unsure how she feels about zack right now. Yet at the first sign of possible danger, his first instinct is to move her out of the way of it(similar to when they're falling at the end of chapter 13 and his first instinct is to pull her in close and take the full force of the fall himself).
After getting so close that they were mere inches away from kissing, both of them get very shy and sit down. However, they are visibly closer than when the date started.
They start having fun, but aerith can see that something is still keeping cloud from being fully in the moment. She can tell he's probably thinking about her and zack. Knowing this, she tells him that his similarity to zack was what peaked her interest, but also reassures him that that's not why she's with him now and that she's happy with him now. She tells him that she's trying to find him(don't let this distract you from the fact that cloud acts less and less like his soldier persona when around aerith due to liking her, relating to her, and her natural ability to break down his barriers).
Cloud starts to bring up zack again, but aerith tells him tifa didn't tell her anything as a way to keep this *their* moment. You can see he's trying to think what to do next in that moment. That's when aerith gets in close to him and hugs his arm, sharing a sweet moment.
He then holds her hand, which is extremely meaningful(and frankly, more intimate than the kiss with tifa imo) because he's had a fear of rejection ever since he was a kid, and he's carried them with him into his adulthood. He definitely wanted to be closer to aerith earlier in the date, but an action involving that level of vulnerability to hold hands with aerith like that is scary for him since he has this fear of rejection.
But he allowed himself to be vulnerable with her and actually took the step of holding her hand, showing her that he truly cares for her deeply(loves her). He turns to her with what I consider a very vulnerable look, and she responds by smiling and reciprocating. A few moments later, they hold hands tighter and continue to enjoy the moment.
I know NPTK has been stated by Nojima to be about everyone Aerith cared/cares for, but to me it doesn’t hold up. The flow and lyrics appear to be about just her and one other person, which is why everyone thought that.
I’ve checked the lyrics in both English and Japanese and 5/6 out of the 8 parts seem to be about Clerith as they are specifically tied to how and where they met. Even the LOVELESS play is tied to their relationship, how they part, and it’s the name of the street they met on.
Aerith looks at Cloud after saying “until I met you” no matter what, regardless of if he’s alone or with someone.
On the official Japanese Square-Enix site on the theme song page, it’s a pic of Clerith’s date in the background.
The trailer that coincided with the theme song performance by Loren Allred was focused on Clerith.
The singer herself only mentioned Cloud and Aerith in regards to the song, both before Rebirth’s release, and after.
The song also plays in the background at a particular time, which I won’t spoil as Aruuu hasn’t reached that part yet.
Everyone she cared for. Otherwise is tragic for Aerith, you know she singing her love to the world and meanwhile Cloud playing hands with Tifa in the backscene.
The only charactor who uses a staff and cast magic is Aerith. They even borrow her staff's Ray of Judgment sound effect into the Loveless show.

Someone did their homework, and the end when they hold hands, I like to believe Aerith said “I’m trying soo hard to find you.”, and him being shy and finally gathering the courage to look her in the eye, the “real” him came out for a moment, the look of surprise in her eyes with him doin all that

When you realize that both Cloud and Aerith are always looking for each other. Cloud is always looking for the Promised Land to be with her and Aerith wants to meet the real Cloud. A love story that has been going on for almost 30 years, hopefully in the third part the two will meet again. I'm not someone who is passionate about love stories but I definitely fell in love with this one.
Cloud ends up OG with Tifa, and in Advent Children they are living together and have adopted children and Aerith is with Zack in the lifestream. I think Cloud and Aerith shippers are working extra hard considering the outcome that was deciden 27 years ago.

Cloud and Tifa's living arrangement is covered in "On the way to a Smile," and there's no romantic implication there whatsoever. Cloud is only living at the bar temporarily while Barret is away on business, he has his own room (which he decorates with paraphernalia to remind him of Aerith) and his own bed which he sleeps in. He also spends most of his time actively avoiding Tifa and straight-up leaves when she gives him push-back on Denzel (whom Cloud only wants to adopt in the first place because he's convinced that Aerith sent him). Marlene already has a father. Cloud and Tifa don't adopt her because that would be messed up, honestly.
Cloud spends all of AC pining for Aerith and ignoring Tifa.
"Good friends who stay in close contact." That's the description given to Cloud and Tifa in the official Dirge of Cerberus guidebook. Meanwhile, Aerith is described as being "forever engraved in Cloud's heart."
There are also the myriad interviews given by the writers themselves stating that the love triangle will always be open-ended and up to player interpretation.
Somebody is indeed working "working extra hard" to justify their delusions, but it isn't who you think it is, mate.

Cloud AC is a complete emo, mourning the end of FFVII and geostigma disease, and the plot is how he has to be put again on track first by a Tifa lecture, and second by Zack and Aerith who put himself on track while confronting Sephiroth. Zack and Aerith, who are toghether in the lifestream. Nobody is waiting for him there.

If the OG ending, the default date and the advent children depression Cloud is not enough to convince people, we talk about serious denial.

The evidence was astronomical up until Nojima was getting death threats and harassed by the most toxic fandom in the world.
Then he made the comment that the song CAN be about multiple different things. Even though weeks prior Nobou and Allred said it was definitely about Cloud and Aerith’s relationship and feelings for each other.
Nojima will make a comment saying it’s about them within a few years. Once he feels the rabid fandom will calm down.
Square has done this numerous times. Just like when they said the Whisperers wouldn’t appear again…..because all of the purists hated it.

If you think about what the major components of Aerith's Gold Saucer date are - she confesses to Cloud, she's looking for the real Cloud, and they hold hands- they all happen even if you don't get her date. Dream date she confesses to Cloud. Sleeping forest she's looking for the real Cloud. When you beat Sephiroth they hold hands.

Chapter 12 will always be one of the highlights of Rebirth. The music, the voice acting, the cinematic cutscenes etc. For me, I had Aerith as my date and I made sure I had high affinity with her for my gameplay. This is the greatest reaction to the gold Saucer date I've ever seen lol, subbed.
I was Cloti in OG but have to admit that playing Remake and Rebirth tilted me towards Clerith. Just my personal opinion, but it does feel that developers are pointing you towards that direction. Cloud needs to feel needed that is why he felt good that Tifa wanted him to be her hero. However with all the bad things that happened to her, Tifa became too independent to a point that Cloud felt she did not need his protection anymore. This, along with Cloud feeling that he failed her. One manifestation of this is when Cloud just allowed Tifa to just go to Don Corneo by herself.
For Aerith it just feels different. Cloud is so protective of her. When there was a sandstorm in Corel, Cloud’s instinct was to shield Aerith. During the fight in the Costa del Sol beach, I actually chose to battle alongside Tifa and felt immediately bad when Hojo captured Aerith first. I was heartbroken hearing Aerith scream Cloud’s name as if pleading him to save her. If it is Tifa that was captured first I think she just says something like “let go”. Aerith goes out of her way to make Cloud feel needed to a point that it is Cloud that ends up needing Aerith more (if that makes any sense).
I love Tifa more than I loved her in OG but I think Cloud and Aerith are the ones really meant for one another.
How so are developers pointing you towards Clerith? This is the MOST interaction they will have and in Rebirth there are two kiss scenes and the two are with Tifa and neither with Aerith.

Aerith's date being the only one referenced in the main story. And only her scenes in the credits. And Jessie was the first option to get a kiss and we all know it meant nothing. And now Tifa and Yuffie. Aerith is the only one left. I wonder why that is. Almost like they're saving it for last or something.

The way he talks to Aerith from the remake and rebirth, you can sense that how he feels about her, he listen to her and encourage her when ever she wants to give up. In the remake, Cloud asked the flowers to learn to talk to her. I just sense from the remake and rebirth the feeling of love between them, whenever they are together. The Beach scene, the sneaking photo taking scene, the dream scene and so many more. I also feel that in AC, Cloud still felt guilt of not saving Aerith. The feeling of love for Aerith was so real that it hurts him so much. Did you notice that the sneak photo taking of Aerith by Cloud, because I think in OG, he did have any photo of her to look at or to remember her by and in AC, the flower on his desk remind him of her.
And the song Hollow, you can sense that was the Cloud song for Aerith. And the song instrumental was played for the first time when Aerith enter the orphan, and cloud was alone. Every single lyrics was about them. and now the song of Aerith was about how she felt about Cloud. Cloud smile and talk softly every time he was Aerith. She was his True Love.

YES!!! It’s here! The Gold Saucer Date with Aerith! Loveless was absolutely incredible and ‘No Promises To Keep’ broke me into tears like I knew it would! 😭 Also the Skywheel scene was absolutely magical! I wish they would’ve kissed but when Cloud and Aerith held hands in a Lover’s Tie, I cried! 🥹 I was so happy! Cloud and Aerith have found each other and their relationship is Canon in my eyes! I really think that if Clerith got a kiss it wouldn't have made any sense narratively speaking. It wasn't a fanservice date and was meant to tie into the story since it's mentioned throughout the game. Why would she kiss someone who isn't all there right now? Cloud doesn't really know himself and Aerith wants to find the real Cloud. Once that happens, I'm sure it will be followed by an incredibly scene!

But theres only one with kiss...Cloud and Tifa. Just as the same as in Gongaga. And in Remake3 Cloud and Tifa relationship turns real as in OG. Cloud and Aerith in OG was a platonic thing that never was because tragedy, but here in Rebirth is nearly nothing.
Aerith would have kissed cloud there but she respects him and wants to kiss him when he is himself again.

I see it as romantic and they’re clearly lovers to me. You may see it differently however different views don’t equal twisting the story.
