Thank you for the video! I'm from Antwerp and it's nice to see the history of where I grew up 😊
Thank your for your comment, we appreciate it. We really enjoyed making this video. More will follow soon.
Heel mooi! Bedankt! :-) Groetjes!
Many thanks for your comment. Good to know that Antwerp is also popular in Germany!
Fantasticthanks
Thank you
Enjoyable history, thank you.
Many thanks for the feedback!
My city ❤🇧🇪
I’m from Belgium . My grandmother’s last name was MEIR, but it comes from the Egyptian Ancient city ME-IR and those people moved to Israel…. The name MEIR doesn’t come from Meerhout ☝️‼️
Thanks for your reaction.Yes, MEIR also refers to this ancient city in Egypt en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meir,_Egypt but there is no historical evidence that the name MEIR of the street in Antwerp refers to this place. It is likely that it refers to the wet lowlands (called "MEER" in Dutch) that were present at this location in the Middle Ages.
Bruges is way more beautiful, nicer to shop and people are kind overthere. Antwerp is like Marokko
Its amazing to me that no one questions how they could build these buildings in 1700 with only wagon and horse and chisels.....come on people do a little research😂
Long before the 1700s, even taller and more complex buildings such as cathedrals were built without the use of modern power tools. This video shows how medieval engineers managed to pull this off.
