Yes! Please keep going! I’m renovating as well and it’s really good to hear someone with similar views thinking out loud rather than all those videos of design influencers with their definitive “do this - not this”-advice.
I found your page and I love this! Our styles are different but totally relatable! Humor is on point, and light fixtures are crazy expensive and the last thing we want is them to be discontinued and sold out. I usually save every page that I find a light fixture on and will search it on Google images and see if anyone makes it for cheaper. There’s so many times that I find the same light fixtures a different site for less! It might not be the same color, but you can spray paint it any color you want! I also will wait for major holidays because most of these places will give a discount. I hope this helps, happy hunting!
I found a great giant assed cabinet in Hurt Va. Not too far for a jaunt for you - they also have a great monthly vintage market. Place is Virginia Found Goods. She has links to her monthly markets on her page.
I’m collecting table lamps like it’s my job but my ceiling lights so far are all naked bulbs because I’m yet to come across a light fixture that doesn’t make my space look worse…pendants over a table/island are a bit easier but the “big light”…? hopeless. White globes I could live with…they are essentially just big bulbs. Anything with more structure will cast weird shadows… Please keep us updated if you find a solution to this that is affordable!
Ahh! So nice of you to say! Working on getting vids out every other week so more to come :) And my top is from Mille (this pattern is out of stock but they sell the same style every season in new patterns, the Charlie top is what it's called I think)
@@tremont_home Thank you! I guess I'm just finding you now because I don't do TikTok or Instagram- they stress me out lol! I like the long-form content on TH-cam- I find it more relaxing, kind of like a podcast with visuals :)
Light fixtures are suuuuch a nightmare. I've only managed to replace two so far. Lol.. currently paper lantern in my dining room. I have a glass globe that sort of looks like a disco ball in my front hall. Snagged it from west elm on clearance. Schoolhouse Electric has some good globes! Pricey but maybe?
I follow you regularly on Instagram and I really enjoyed this deep dive of what’s happening in your house right now. I so agree about how fun it is to peek into other regular people’s houses. 🙂
I actually don't have a great rec for this! I use Figma or Photoshop most of the time because they're tools I'm in for work but Figma is definitely not intended for that purpose lol
I’m so confused. If this is your very first video on TH-cam where’s the introduction. It’s like you’re talking as if you’ve been on the platform already and there’s other videos I haven’t watched or missed. This isn’t only you. TH-cam keeps recommending these new interior lifestyle channels that are new and they are just starting a video with thoughts and opinions without any intro.
I prefer it the way she did it…I think it’s smart to put out real content straight away. Why would I care about a youtubers lengthy intro if I don’t even know what they are about and whether I even want to get to know them? Sounds like she’s been putting out content on other platforms for a while so it’s not totally out of the blue. Plus, you don’t watch a channel the way you read a book. Most likely a video will just pop up and it’s rarely their first upload. She can always do a “get to know me” later if she feels like it 🤷♀️
Yes to real homes! And yes to you in long form!
GAH!! Thanks for being the push I needed!

"Why are they all so ugly and so expensive????" is also totally my light fixture searching experience 😑
Can we make an AD, but for regular people’s houses?????? I can so see myself as an editor in chief of that.
“It’s hard to be a lady with taste, ya know?” absolutely SENT ME 😂 put this on a shirt so I can buy it asap
sell the mirror (its big enough to warrant 100$) and use that $$ towards the sconce queen!
Heck yeah! The platform crossover we all needed 🎉

What tool are you using to imagine your space / render your changes in you actual home (hoping you know what I mean). :)
