    One of my favorite things of being a nomad is coming to a new area and it being nothing like what I expected. When you think of Iowa you think "ahh that's nothing but flat cornfields" but those bluffs near the river are amazing. Every state has cool places and nice beauty if you just look

    I'm 52 years old Japanese. I lived in Dubuque for four years from the age of 19 to 22 and graduated from the University of Dubuque as an international student studying business. For me, Dubuque is my second home, and it is an important place filled with fond memories of my youth. I also love Galina and went there about 20 times during my stay in Dubuque. My dream now is to travel across the United States in a camper van like Robert-San. Although it is far away from Japan and expensive, I am making plans based on Robert's videos. At that time, of course, I would like to stop by Dubuque again. I will do my best to make that dream come true.

    This is my favorite part of our country. I was lucky enough to live in Lake City, MN for 15 years. Driving up and down the river roads and traveling to places like Galena made me happy. The small towns along the way are beautiful, too.

    My 2 1/2 year old grandson is demanding we get him a camper he sings your song and immediately asks to see Robert when he walks in door. He loves vehicles 🚗 and is essentially in love with the Mini Tinies and your truck! He says I go Roberts Truck 🛻 so cute. Love your channel. I think it’s educational so I let him watch as much as he wants. He notices wild life and different terrain then he’s seen in New England. He says 🌵 cactus now and has never seen one in person yet!

    A favorite local brewery beer of mine is Huber Bock. I had a tavern in Dyersville in the early 80's when that Dubuque brewery was still running. These were just old local breweries long established before the current micro brewery craze got started.

  • @ksyrahsyrah4983
    @ksyrahsyrah4983 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    My old stomping grounds!! WELCOME to “THE DRIFTLESS” …in local terminology. The bluffs and the area in this part of the US were not covered by ice sheets in the last several glaciation periods. This is a unique geological feature of the country that remains off the radar of many travelers. Trailers in tow around here can experience 7%+ hill grades, so be advised.
    POTOSI = You didn’t feature the natural cliff CAVE cooler they have, or the fairly extensive National Breweriana Museum they have in Potosi. I also believe they are a Harvest Host establishment. Worth the side-road trip!!!
    If you plan your visit in the Fall, the foliage will satisfy your Leaf-peeping soul!
    Next year, around WNR time, let us take you on an IPA tour around Des Moines! There are several breweries, some even have great kitchens attached! 😄

We camped there a few days and took day trips around the area. We’ve done this quite a few times as I live in central, IL and he lives in Minneapolis, it’s almost perfectly half way between us. Great area and the ride north along the river to LaCrosse is spectacular!

    I use to go to Dubuque Ia all the rime but only for work. I was a truck driver and loaded out of the John Deere Plant there . The company had a drop lot next to an ole abandon Brewery that I was old once belonged to Al Capone . The owners wanted to tear it down and the locals wanted to keep it for historical reasons. I never got a chance to tour the town and see the sites so it is nice to see what I have been missing.

    Hello Traveling Robert😊😊🎸🎸🎵🎵, Dubuque is a very nice interesting city. Really cool that you drove over the Mississippi River several times and explored the river. Galena seems like a great town. So Des Moines and Omaha are next stops? Des Moines is a great city to explore and Omaha is a great city with so much to explore. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Missouri River from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Omaha( over vise versa ). I really enjoyed that walk. There are MANY EXCELLENT restaurants to explore and indulge in Downtown Omaha... So much to see Robert. Also, there is a HUGE Zoo and botanical garden to check out. Omaha is an AWESOME city! If you continue west to Kearney I would highly recommend a visit to the Archway Monument, which spans across I-80 and is part of the Oregon Trail route...so much history there and the Archway Monument will show you about the history of the Oregon Trail. Great video Robert! Looking forward to seeing what's next👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍!

    The mines of Spain is south of Dubuque. Going towards the dam and past along side Wisconsin is north.

    I can’t remember if you said you did the incline in Pittsburgh. Hopefully you got the chance to do that. This one in Dubuque was cute!

    Visited that area in 2016. Sinsinawa Mound Center, WI and the Dominican Sisters would have been a good visit for you. Continue!
