These exercises are fun but we all know Marner is staying and they were never really serious. This team is terrified of making hard decisions or being cut-throat like real contenders. The Leafs strategy is more desperation and "let's throw shit at the wall and see what sticks" based.
The Red Wings would never make that trade. Norris has a long history of shoulder injuries and surgeries. He has i believe 6 years left on his contract of 7.95 AAV. The Sens may have to eat the contract. Stevie would never package Berggren in a trade like this,

I think for only Fabbri would be fair. Norris can use a new start bc it's most likely not gonna work here.

I don't think Norris is going anywhere, he is a bit of a liability with his injuries, I think the sens want to see if he can stay healthy first before they decide anything.
Maybe we can dump him onto teams deep in the rebuild. We're not putting up with ritz crackers making 8M

Marner accepting a trade is the problem
The chief likes a big team , you are so lucky I think Chief is one of the best coaches around, players love him , except Jordan kyrou who is a coach killer , size matters in playoffs

We got Hakanpaa on a bargain deal if he plays. But the cap hit is easy to bury if he doesn't. Not to mention there's long-term injury reserve. And it's only 2 years. People are bitching about the signing as if it makes them look dumb wtf? It's a genius move for an organization who has a shit ton of money laying around. It doesn't affect the team in a negative way one bit if he doesn't play and improves the depth by quite a bit if he does😂

Your right about Ottawa to move Norris,and the beautiful thing about it is they can move on as a LTIR,and get a cheaper player like,Nino Neidereiter in Winnipeg or like Andrew Copp in Detroit or Jason Dickenson in Chicago.They get him on a LTIR but they take the whole contract with him

You think the Avs are gonna trade away Colton for that? Are you kidding? The Avs actually make good trades , when did you ever hear of the Avs lose a trade keep dreaming on Colton for that price, I get you’re a leafs fan ,,, but be realistic! You’re not giving anything up the Avs have 2 guys that won’t play half the year pro-rated they will be far under the cap ,,, IF they trade Colton they will be getting lots more than that!

Ye bad wording maybe but the point is, Vegas is trading a 2C and #3 dman on their team for one of the best wingers in hockey. Each team fills their greatest need
From across the lake, i look @ Marner and think he can plug right in just about anywhere, I don't get why there isn't a lot of interest in a guy that can put up that many points and has youth, Is he douchie or something?
Heres the thing about hankanpaa... He is huge and right handed andnlogged good monites for dallas.... If he was healthy i think he would have been closer to tanev maybe 3.5 or 3 mil per year.
The fact that he signed for 1.5 when he should be around 3 or 3.5 means other teams were worried about his injury.
For the leafs this is very low risk and brilliant. Best case is hankanpaa takes advantage of one of the best medical staffs in the league, and he is a 3.5 mil player making 1.5, ( think on ice value vs actual cap hit). Worst case is hankanpaa cant rehab and the leafs pay him to be on ltir, freeing up cap space at the cost of the leafs payjng funny money to have him on the roster.
The leafs are a team that can afford to pay a guy to not play, if it means it doesnt hurt the cap. The chance is there to potentially easily outplay his cap hit, for essentially 0 risk. Its quietly one of the more brilliant signings, and i think the leafs were aware of him potentially not playing, hence why his cap hit is so low.
Honestly i wouldnt put it past treliving to just let him rehab with the leafs medical team all of this season amd then really go balls to the wall next year with him being a good price and tavares new cheaper deal kicking in.

Here I've got a trade Matthews for Krug. Makes as much sense as that Parayko trade. Keep dreaming Toronto fan boys. Parayko is gonna cost an arm and a leg. You don't get a teams best defenseman for cheap and retain salary on him. It must be fun living in Lalaland.
Leafs need to get at least another Top 6 Winger. Oilers got two for 7M with much less cap. With Tavares in decline probably only getting 55-60 points they need a goal scorer.

Don't need to send any more draft picks away . Leafs don't have to go to draft next year if they keep sending picks and prospects out the door. I wouldn't want to get drafted by leafs .

10:54 I thought the 2nd trade for Theodore was bad, but this is so much worse. Norris isn't only made of glass, but he's signed for 6 more years at $7 mil per. Nobody in the NHL wants that contract without maximum retention, and even then, it would need more futures attached to get the deal done.
There is no world where the Sens offload Norris and get a top prospect and a 2nd. Fabbri is fodder, I get it, but he's not much worse than Norris, and he's only signed for 1 more year at $4 mil.
It’s just a baseline of a trade. Maybe the Red Wings get more from Ottawa. Just sending cap the other way and swapping Berggren… maybe Detroit gets Sokolov and another piece. I think Norris is a high potential bet
If Yzerman takes Norris back in 'any trade' (even attached to a multiple high picks and futures) I'll make sure to come back and leave you $500 in Super Thanks. Until then, you really need to reel it in. The Theodore and Norris trades insult the intelligence of anyone that isn't a Sens or Leafs homer, and even they must be a bit insulted.
If you want hockey fans to come back, the trades need to be realistic.
