I went to Cal State Fullerton in the 80s. I had a Political Philosophy class with Professor Bruce Wright. He was a committed Communist, by his own admission, and I was a committed Reagan conservative. He knew this. He gave me an "A" on every paper I wrote for the course. I admired him for his ability to put aside his beliefs and grade my papers on the merit of my arguments. I still have those papers.

      I was at Concordia University studying anthropology;
I got docked a letter grade (went from A to B) on a paper because I used the term "illegal immigrant".
The paper was a book report on the story of an illegal immigrant, it was ridiculous. That was when I left college & went in to a trade, that being said as you pointed out, there are great teachers out there. Unfortunately the worst experiences I had were with teachers assistants. Most professors had the decency to listen to other opinions based on merits, the students however rarely did.

Wait so what about the issues with the right?
People who tend to more right wing, “edgy”, like violent things like UFC or guns, live in cities tent to have schizophrenia.
      These are all common traits.
Now most conservatives are like that.
      Selfish too.
They fight for freedom, but it’s their version of freedom with a disregard for other peoples freedom and world views.
They also can accept a vote, or have a decent protest.
Also on Trans issues I do think the right are ignorant on this subject and BLM, there is so much to these subjects but they never get right into it.
Look at Jon Stewart, Mediastouch, salty voter these channels have been exposing the right more and more.

Kirk’s approach is the correct approach. I was heavily involved in the hardcore and punk music scene as a teenager in the early 2000’s to 2010. That scene of music was heavily anti-theist. I became more involved in my faith, more aware of the metaphysical and apologetic defences of Christianity, and built stronger and lasting values, as well as friendships as a result of my teenaged years.

WOW I never knew that Charlie Kirk never went to college. The amazing aspect to that, is it really shows the diligence and hard work he did to become self educated. I would like to think that I'm pretty educated in religion, politics, history etc, certainly not to be compared to Charlie Kirk,, but I do know the time, sacrifice and discipline it takes to become knowledgeable in these studies compared to those that sit in front of a professor which alleviates a portion of the effort to become educated and recieve a Degree. That being said, I'm not disputing a college students hard work I'm only pointing out the difference and hard work it is to go at it alone. My hat's off to you Mr Kirk

I am conservative. My trip through college did not compromise my values. But when taking tests, I did indeed answer the test questions in the way they were looking for. That is just wisdom. In my graduate education teacher's exam, the questions were so lefty that it was obvious what they were looking for. I even attended a very lefty school but most people failed the test because it was so far lefty. I passed it easy because I understood what they were looking for. The others had to take that test over if they wanted to get their teaching license. You can dig your heals in and not answer them the way they want, but you will never become a teacher. Jesus said, "Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves."

Once an individual has direction and focus they will find others with the same values as they go through life.
I felt so alone when I made the decision to take care of myself and go the way I knew was right. Before I knew it I was surrounded by people who think the same way.
The support from these people is so great (unlike the lack of support from the woke Left) .
Life is impossible to live trying to make others happy with your decisions.
Do what your heart says and will set you free.

You care more of how your perceived by others and so you might disguise your true self just to be accepted. Charlie is correct, don't sacrifice integrity for whatever is in favor of others opinions. If you do, you will regret it later in life when you realize that truth and honesty and personal values are more important.

I understand what Charlie Kirk is saying and he's right about unprincipled people running the schools, but college is still a useful stepping stone in life. People need to learn critical thinking and be able to think for themselves. Going along with a group of people means you may have to give up part of yourself to belong. And that also happens in the workplace, but they only get 8 hours of my time, and then I'm free to pursue my own interests. I don't want college to be a part of my entire life mind, body, and soul. When I went to college I had different opinions, and the professors shut me down; so I took what I needed from the courses and left the rest behind. Sociology may not pay well, but the information may be useful. Some people are doctors and some people are social workers. I'm a social worker and got my MSW at SDSU. I would not be a good doctor. My mother taught me that everyone has value regardless of what their job is.

One thing I think colleges should start doing is treating most degrees as trades. I'm a college drop-out. I went into accounting. In order to take the CPA exam, I need 150 credits. A decent portion of those credits don't need to be related to accounting. I ended up dropping out due to burnout. I failed a class twice and had enough of it. I wish I could get actual experience in the field versus having to grind out credits that won't be useful in my career as an accountant. I was also pushed into college by my parents, and I went into accounting because math was my strongest subject in high school.
Students wouldn't be in as much debt if they weren't forced to take classes that don't benefit them in the end.

For the example of whether or not to hide your beliefs in college i think depends on tge situation. I dont think there's one answer for everyone. Yes, it's great to stand strong with your beliefs. But what if you are from a poor family and you happen to be on scholarship? And if you fail a class becasue you stood strong you end up losing your scholarship?
Of course you may be able to fight the teach and ask for an ademdemic review and everhting you can to go against the teacher. But you may not be successful if the school fights for the teacher, or it may take too long and the scholarship may end up going to someone else, so even if you are successful, they may just turn around and say "sorry, the funds have been goven away already."
I wouldnt judge someone who doesnt want the headache in that situation. Someone else who's parents are wealthy enough to send their kid to college is different. Their opportunity is still there if it gets delayed and their parents may even have influence to fight against a bad teacher. But what is the solution if you dont hide your beliefs and end up losing your chance to becomr a doctor or something that requires lots of college hours?
Im not saying you should give in and declare you are something you are not. Im just saying it may be ok to not mention it. Later on that person who is now a wealthy doctor can fight all they want, they are already a doctor. But if they have to sacrifice being a doctor or lawyer or whatever, i dont expect everyone to make that choice. And i won't judge someone who doesn't want to give up that dream.

When I was in college, I just wrote liberal papers for my liberal teachers. A paper from a leftist point of view is easier to write, emotionally based (no requirement for sources), and required almost no brain-power or effort and he classes are generally worthless anyway. Why would I work hard forming an intelligent and valid argument, only to have my grade destroyed? I save my battles for things that matter. No offense to Charlie Kirk, but he didn't get or need a college education. Some people need that document for their future career.

Like you said, it looks like he didn’t need one, he’s pretty doing well for himself. You don’t have to go to college to live a good life. He’s also saying a lot of people waste their money going to college, they major in things that won’t help them get a future career when you could enter a trade school & pay less money

Graduated from CSU Fullerton many years ago. I didn't delve into the liberalism that ran the school but didn't see it daily either. The entire CSU system is run by liberals, I worked for UCI and that's what the Boards are made up of so the conservatives have an uphill battle.

    *"Educate Don't Mandate"... Small correction...*
In order to actually Educate, we MUST take some power back in the Institutions. "Alternatives" are great and all, but they aren't a true solution since the problem actually started with the Left taking over All the Institutions of Power.
We need to get back to the point in which the "Educated" are exposed to ALL ideas, and our basic Rights in the Public Square are restored... So, we MUST do this in 2 ways.
    1. Mandate that ALL schools unless private in such a way to not be like other schools, are required to have an EQUAL # of Right and Left Educators and Administrators. This way kids can be exposed to who and what the Right actually is, contrary to the Left's lies of themselves and the Right, and when they do the vast majority WILL choose the Right because most people want Truth, Happiness, and Success, and that ONLY exists on the Right. While the Left CAN find some happiness and success being on the Left, it's false, and it "leaches" off others, such as BLM did, using others to enrich themselves. The Left won't be able to stop this mandate because it will be "fair" to both sides.
    2. We need to put ALL Government and Businesses under the SAME Anti-Discrimination Laws that govern Phone and Power companies.
If you serve the public, you must be subject to the Public Square principle, aka Human Rights are mandatory. This isn't to say business doesn't have rights, for example, you can't protest on a businesses property if they don't want it, even though you DO have speech rights, but if an action interferes in the operation of the business, then the business also has rights to limit that action.
In contrast, the 2nd Amendment is the Law, and a business has no right to restrict that Right. Someone lawfully carrying has no effect on a business' ability to operate thus a business has no right to restrict that Right.
And what I mean by "Government" is the fact that we can no longer "trust" those in power. So nobody in government has the right to infringe on the Citizens Constitutional and Lawful rights.
The citizen should not have to "continually relitigate" their basic rights. So, anyone in government who infringes on those Rights are subject to termination, fines, and/or prison depending on the severity of the offence. Currently, the people are disenfranchised because cases aren't heard which should be, the courts toss them, as well most can't afford to fight for their rights, so most remain abused by the Government when the Government should be SERVING the people, not the people serving the government.
Do these two things and we will start to save our Republic... We can't save the West through simply "alternatives", we need to actually take back the Institutions of power so our Voice can be heard not censored, not hidden.

I heard a couple of statistics on the radio one day a couple years ago that kind of shocked me at the time the first one was that that year marked the first time in our history that over 50% of the population of the USA have never seen a farm or a cow in real life and the second was that over 90% of the people joining the military have never even been in a fist fight before going into boot camp and just think how much more time and money it costs trying too turn the wimps they are mass producing nowadays into military fighting forces trained in hand to hand combat let alone how to shoot a firearm when most of them have never had one or knows anyone who has a firearm no wonder most of the young people are little powder puffs who get so butt hurt by what people say and their feelings get so hurt they can’t deal with anything and they have to run to their safe space in their parents basement

When I hear the question of why are you a Christian I always give the same answer. I'm a Christian because at the end of my life, right or wrong, I have lived a better life because of practicing my faith. It seperates the religious aspects of my beliefs into something tangible that the other person can agree with. They know I'm a good man, and now they know the reason why. So then the often follow up question of how do you live so joyfully is already answered.

Kirk talks about some very good concepts, and while I'm blessed to learn from him, he'll often use shaming tactics, rather than factual knowledge, to try and sway people. When you appeal to emotional outrage, instead of focusing on the factual state of things, it's to act as controlled opposition. Smart man, with much good information, but not a champion of truth, and perhaps controlled opposition.
