She was truly a beautiful woman. Absolutely stunning. Natural beauty nowadays seems to have been lost with all of the plastic surgical procedures, treatments, body piercings, bolts shoved through body all kinds of body parts, tattoos, and other "necessities". Women back in the 70's were incredibly beautiful ladies.
@@MrPoppyDuckI used to love Lynda Carter back then. She was THE Wonder Woman. Helen Mirren was another absolutely beautiful woman back then too, but I didn't really know just how gorgeous she was until just a few years ago. Jacklyn Smith, Jayne Seymour, Catherine Bach, and a couple others who I can't remember their names. One was on Buck Rogers and Silver Spoons, and the other was on WKRP in Cincinnati and it wasn't Loni Anderson, although she was also really beautiful. However the one woman who completely blew me away was Jennifer Connelly. I saw her in a movie called Career Opportunities and she was in my opinion absolutely flawless. Her eyes, smile, hair, and other variables were perfect.
Both players really won a lot of prizes. The lady from Topeka won that first secret square plus $100 plus the parting gifts and the guy won the second secret square plus $550 plus a car. That was pretty generous, especially in those days (heck, I'd be happy with either set of prizes today!).
Yikes!! That outfit Peter Marshall was wearing !! Bright & ruffles on the shirt . Very over the top !! I was just a little girl of 7 in 1972 but liked Match Game ,Price is Right ,Hollywood Squares Wheel of Fortune and The $ Pyramid Series when I got old enough to to sit still and understand game shows by the year 1974- 1975.
I was a young woman when I watched these episodes. Life became difficult soon in my life. I escaped into game shows. Loved Hollywood Squares. BTW I had a Chevy Vega, what a piece of tin can crap.
The Charlie Smith mentioned in one question was a fraud. He died in 1979 allegedly aged 137, but medical tests done after his death revealed his age to be 99-105.
The same thing went on in the Soviet Republic of Georgia. There were some claiming to be close to 200 years old.I don't if any were ever tested in a similar way,but there were many discrepancies in their claims.
Doc mimicking Paul was classic and Paul laughed 🙂
a rest in forever peace to Peter Marshall, who made this show what it will always be remembered for
I agree without him I would not watch nothing personal against the new people
Game shows were so fun back then. Love seeing the fashion the stars were wearing. And Master Peter Marshall looking fabulous in his tuxedos.
God I loved Karen Valentine
Many people including myself had a crush on her way back then.

7-0 ya whippersnappers!😃
I used to watch Room 222 just to see Karen Valentine get off the bus. Major crush.
Peter Marshall is with us as of today 98 years old. August 8, 2024.
How ironic he died on August 15, a week after you wrote this.
@@timothy4545 - Thus outliving Elvis Presley by 46 years, 11 months and 30 days.
Ironically, right now, I'm watching the "Fantasy Island" pilot (1977). It features both Hugh O'Brien and Sandra Dee.
RIP Peter Marshall (and everyone else besides Karen and Doc)
Doc Severinsen is still with us at 97

Karen Valentine, or a woman like her, would seem to be the perfect girlfriend. She was lovely.

Miss the good old days (not to sound like my parents)
I had JUST started college.

Crushed velvet was big in the early '70's.
This was the night time version. He always dressed that way for night time version. Daytime was just a suit.
Well, Steve Harvey from Family Feud, also wears a suit that is similar
@@helloitsme-w9n - And, through 1976, the nighttime was also seen in NYC on WNBC Channel 4. (That fall, the syndie "Squares" moved to WABC Channel 7.)

2 Gidgets on the same stage!

Thanks for clearing that up. He was still plenty old ha ha
I didn’t believe it. Otherwise, he’d have been born in 1842.
😮
Joe Louis was 137 years old when he fought Rocky Marciano.

To an extent, one of the original YOU FOOL episodes with Paul getting 5-6 questions but fortunately it wasn't for the whole show.
23:55, Tuesday Night Channel 9 Orlando.
They don't make people or shows like that anymore.😊
I would have sworn it was Fletcher Christian they both played.at 17:30
That Tux Peter is wearing. Radical
CHARLIE SMITH he lived too 136 died 1979 (born 1842)
I need Pete's outfit.
$3300 for all those prizes. Now you can barely get to Hawaii for $3300.
Here after the CBS revival
Bone age tests after Charlie Smith's death in 1979 revealed that Smith was between 99-105 years old when he died.
Imagine, and Drew Carey dresses like a slob on the Price is Right
"Resident dummy" That was mean.
Yeah, but also true.
