Dan was probably one of the people that voted her off their team in Episode 1
I noticed this a little late, but in Episode 4, Tom said he'd take Jake out to a chinese takeaway once this is over, and generally initiated the close interactions and relationship with Jake. However, he then reveals in this episode that he has to move away and never contact a competitor in the season after the show is over. It was likely an in-the-moment thing from Tom, who was actually sort-of considering throwing everything aside for love. That would have been okay, but he then doesn't seem to understand Jake's anger AT ALL, proceeds to get mad at Jake for being angry about it- making Jake feel as if his own worries about Tom's secret identity was selfish. He calls him "unpredictable", too. The secret spy, who had to "go clean his socks" midway through speaking to someone, called someone unpredictable.
not to mention, jake’s trust issues from his cheating ex who Lied To Him (sore spot for him!) and his emotions are treated like an immature trait, when in reality he’s just extremely vulnerable right now. you don’t just get over the death of someone you were extremely close with in the span of a day, so somebody poking your vulnerability is obviously gonna make you lash out for a hot minute!! i understand that he is responsible for keeping himself stable, but i mean cmon man. tom had no business getting to the same emotional height that jake did when he wasn’t even triggered by his trauma or a family death! it’s ridiculous how all of the blame was put onto jake, when it should have been a mutual recognition of bad reactions and emotional responses. but no, we get the victim tom who’s not even a victim of anything- risking leaving the challenge in the beginning and therefore blowing your cover? yeah, not the smartest move mr. i’ll risk everything for a guy i just met. delusion. (it’s not that serious lol i just like being dramatic and taking things literally/seriously, loved ur comment!)

The fact that MIRIAM is the best strategist in the entire season is amazing to me she’s definitely the best character in dc1 by a mile which is crazy because with the exception of gabby everyone else on the team sucked

Okay. LOTS TO UNPACK!
I am beyond glad that Tom finally called Jake out for his behaviour. Tom has by far been the most emotionally intelligent one in the friendship/relationship as he has always acted cautiously and patiently around Jake when Jake has been in his vulnerable moments. Although the moments have been few, Tom has been the one to comfort Jake, Tom has been the one to ask questions to Jake. I don’t think I’ve seen Jake ask Tom a SINGLE question about himself other than about his mask, yet the moment Tom is in a vulnerable state with his secret coming out, Jake immediately disregards Tom’s feelings and uses the situation to erupt and attack Tom which immediately makes him seem selfish and petty, which is out of character for him and emphasised the fact that their relationship felt forced because there wasn’t anything they had built on to warrant that reaction and again, a selfish reaction at that. It’s quite disappointing how he has been characterised as a nice person yet he needs an outside influence such as Ellie who hasn’t even been on their team to get him to think rationally yet I suppose it was a way to push their conflict forward. Even then, when he goes up to Tom to finally talk to him he asks “did you really just approach me because of your job?” I mean, the audacity to ask this when this is a reason he’s thought up of by himself. Tom explains himself, Jake admits to being selfish and Tom then says:
“You had no idea. You never bothered to ask.” This is a very good line because it’s the truth, however it also shows the other side of the coin how both Tom and Jake don’t know much at all about each other and further proves how getting this far in their relationship has felt forced.
Grett and Ellie’s return is amazing as both characters bring so much to the show and the twist was great. With Grett joining Fiore and Alec, we now have an evil trinity which I am super stoked about and I can’t wait to see the havoc they cause for the other team. Gabby and Fiore’s maniacal laughs were most amusing and had major supervillain vibes. Also, Gabby’s voice actress did a phenomenal job this episode! Both Miriam and Dan had sweet moments both together and apart this episode too which helped to push the story forward. And it was amazing to see Gabby take control even more in this episode! Gabby saving Ellie with the immunity totum was iconic and adds another sweet moment to their friendship/relationship.
Again, a wonderful episode and look forward to the next one!

Jake's reaction was not right, but it can be understood why he acted like that, as you said, Tom has been very good to Jake, he was with him to talk about his fears and he comforted him when Jake found out that his grandmother passed away, that it made the two of them close, and that was why Jake got so upset, it hurt him that Tom never really cared for him, and when Jake asked Tom, he didn't want to give any answer, obviously Tom was entitled to his privacy, but that made Jake believe even more that Tom has only been using him, besides, there's nothing wrong with needing an outside influence to retrain the thought, as it's part of human development, not just for children, but for all ages since these influences help to grow psychologically, in reality Jake is a good person, the problem was that he was emotionally susceptible and that clouded his judgment.
I want to make it clear that I am not justifying Jake's reaction, because the way I handled the situation was not correct, I am just saying that it is understandable why he did it, but if you think differently, I respect your opinion

I'm so happy about the twist. It really felt empty seeing Grett and Ellie eliminated so early. Purple team now consisting of the villains, and Teal team having Gabby be with Ellie is kinda great.
Gabby did great in this episode. Made me appreciate how well her gameplay is right now.
The way Tom and Jake's relationship throughout the series her is much better than the beta one, since their relationship is explored more and felt like actual people. Acknowledging Jake for being dramatic and selfish is pretty good too, and him finally apologizing to Tom for it made their relationship a bit stronger.
I like how at the elimination, Gabby finally used her totem on Ellie, which she couldn't do last episode but not gonna lie I'm glad she didn't use it. But yeah, a great comeback! It's sad knowing the totem Gabby got by finding Dan's glasses from the 2nd episode would actually be used that will cause Dan's elimination...
I had meh opinion about Dan but he did a much greater gameplay than from the beta version and I feel like it's his time to finally go so.

This episode was *VERY* predictable. The plot beats were laid out since the beginning of the episode. But payoff? The strategy, gameplay, challenge, interactions. I'd say this is my personal favorite episode so far. Predictability or not, it was still complex enough in execution to be highly entertaining.

Shame on Dan being eliminated, but once his glasses were broken, it was game over. My one gripe with the episode really would be the melodrama stuff. I get Jake & Tom's relationship, but it's Gabby's and Dan's that leaves things underwhelming, I hope gabby will realize that Dan voting her was strategic for his game and not an attack on her person as he genuinely liked her and tried to befriend her.
I honestly don't get Jake&Tom, Jake acts like so entitled of Tom's secrets even tho he only knows him for what ? A couple of weeks at most. So of course Tom isn't gonna reveal everything about his life right away. Also they portrayed them as a broken up couple in this episode even tho they haven't even hooked up yet, not on screen at least. Tom never owed Jake anything as they weren't even an item to begin (not yet anyway), so homeboy needs to calm down with the attitude.

Gabby and Dan not developing a friendship was a missed opportunity. It makes Dan's elimination even sad but bittersweet.
Yeah i hope Gabby sees that Dan voting her (or him wanting to vote Ellie) wasn't personal. It felt like drama that was going to be used but didn't rlly go anywhere? Or I mean, it seemed like they were going to be able to be friends again with building up trust again. Gabby just made an assumption that Dan was just like Grett and held a major grudge even when he apologized for it alot.
i hope that later on in the season Gabby and Dan can reconcile, same goes for Ellie and Alec because honestly its good friendships which carry these shows more than the relationships
One thing i would like to see on the show is a redemption round where there is a challenge with all the previous eliminatied players and the winner of that challenge is put back in the game
I'd be rooting for Ash or Lill if that's the case. I liked them both. Not to mention, it would be cool if Lill became a mother figure to Fiore as Alec has a father, but that's probably out of the question.
Arguably out of everyone I want to see Nick come back episode 1 hinted at an interesting character background. I think him going from the aloof rich idiot to a guy adapting to a new enviroment could be interesting. He the one I'm most disapointed in so seeing hin redeem himself would be awesome.

I love that they keep improving with every single season. The animation is only getting better and I honestly think it's on par with total drama at this point. Not only that, I thought some of the writing in the original first season felt choppy and forced and though it improved, I felt that way with season 2 at times but this season has been stellar on that front. Not only that but the casting is definitely at its best. Mad respect to all the voice actors. I can't wait to see future projects from these guys. Especially curious to see how crystal ended up becoming host in season 2!

So Drew lost his notebook, Nick got his cashmere sweater burned, Ashley got her hat burned and now Dan got his glasses broken and Dan got eliminated this episode. It appears every time something happens to a contestant’s belongings, they end up being eliminated.
Grett and Ellie haven’t been eliminated from the game so that’s interesting. And Gabby got to use her immunity totem on Ellie this episode.
Also is Jensen going to try to assassinate Tom with that sniper rifle?
Maybe not Tom. I wouldn’t be surprised if the co-host inadvertently hired the actual spy (Jensen), which Jensen is exposing Tom to better keep his cover. Also, that rifle may be another tranquilizer, just stronger compared to what was used in the prior challenge

Originally, my end game projections are Jake and Ellie, but I could also see their “partners”, Tom and Gabby, surprising people since their interactions , at least in this version, has been showcased (at least yet)
Shocking to see Grett and Ellie still in the game, but at least we get more cute friendship moments between Gabby and Ellie now.

This was literally the best episode so far! I legit kept on hoping ellie will not be eliminated again thank god for gabby for saving her!! The tension,the drama and the suspence of who was getting voted out was was the best part definetly the best episode so far for me atleast 10/10

The script for this episode is awesome. The challenge used has been one of the best, in my opinion. The elimination was predectible, but perfect, I'm glad they took out Dan and not Ellie. Personally, it's my favorite episode.
I love the importance that Miriam is taking, she is very intelligent and has the control of the team, she can be the winner this season. She's my favorite character.

Why did I feel like Grett, Alec, and Fiore are like the villian family
This show is better than Total Drama! Even the first voted off contestants weren’t like fillers and were somewhat able to get us attached to them! There’s some nice plot twists and really nice sensitive subjects treated in this show and every vote and elimination feels natural and logical. The plot flows very naturally and nothing out of the blue happens to force an elimination or even a victory in a challenge. Total Drama should really learn from the writers of this series cause it’s really incredibly well executed and each character has an individual and authentic personality with a touching backstory for some of them! Really hats off.
Pre-Episodes prediction: might I say this is the hardest episode so far to predict on what will happen, I first thought it will just be an episode about all the eliminated contestants in a comeback competition, but the trailer proves me wrong, Guess I'll just have to wait.

Episode review: what an episode, 3rd best. the challenge is one of the worst so far, but it was entertaining, I like how Eillie and Grett just switched team, I still don't care for Grett, and I like the Eibby interactions to Eibby may have a bigger role than I thought maybe more than Take, I like how Gabby's hullication twin return I was curious where they are, and Also, I think Tom is in the right with the whole Tom being a spy thing, I did like how we found out who tom's boss is(Mr. Smith) and that's all I really have to say.
Thoughts on the eliminated contestant: Dan in the first two episodes and the first half of episode 3I didn't really care for him and I was like when is the goanna go, but near the end of episode 3 I was starting to like him, after Ashley got eliminated, I thought he would get 5th but no he got 9th, I am very curious to see how Dennis will react to his elimination, a funny thing is when they were goanna to be doing auditions for voice actors I was planning to be Dan because he would go out first and I won't need to do all that much I never did but seeing him Get this far was quite funny when you take that into consecration at least for me, and that's all I really have to say about Dan.
I can’t wait to watch it!!!

I don't really how yall say Tom and Jake feel forced, because I always thought their interactions are the ones of two people in real life, to me it feels more forced Gabby and Ellie, they make a great a couple, but not once an argument? People will always have a misunderstanding while getting to know each other, not once to me it is kinda forced, because they have yet to see their worst parts, unlike Tom and Jake
This episode was so good,Love the twist,i was assuming it would be the outcast twist and the losers would get the chance to compete in the challenge against the other two teams for a chance to vote one of themselves back in the game,but this team swap works also.I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee That purple team is just antags now,and the Fiore/Grett interactions are gonna be great.Great episode,this is pretty much a perfect merge cast,although slight spoilers

@@goatdeer8403 Dan had more personality than his first outing, I liked him in this run and I wouldn't change his placement. He serves as a easy common boot when you already have done too many shocking eliminations while being a decent character.
What an episode! Grett and Ellie returning was great, Dan finally left which was nice, and I loved his reaction, since I'd do the exact same thing. Fiore really kicked their asses when she got Grett to basically kill Dan which made them lose.
I love watching Oliver spin Oliver while Oliver collects water to release blindfolds for Oliver so Oliver can guide Oliver to win for Oliver

It’s official Miriam is my favorite character! Her sass, her energy and her friendship with Jake is amazing to see and her role in the season has been really interesting! I hope Miriam gets to interact with Fiore and think the idea of a six year old girl and an old lady having beef would be hilarious 💀 I’m glad Ellie gets another chance I like her relationship with Gabby! I know Gabby may not be everyone’s favorite but to me shes super compelling and interesting I hope she gets far! At first I was super upset with Ashley and Lil’s elimination but after that happened all the characters really developed and came into their own I can say with confidence I love every character and I’m so interested with where this season is going! :D 🌈🦄💖

Jakes reaction to Tom being a spy was so bizarre considering they literally barely know each other and it’s been like maybe 2 weeks
I’m worried we’ll end up with a drawn out James/Aiden romance again where one character very clearly has nothing going on narratively except for when they finally get to step one in their last episode-Aiden was such filler it was annoying and his naive shtick got played out by the time Yul took out Maggy
