Don't allow the crowd to gather around the person humiliate the guest. It is very annoying to all this none sense. Likewise for male visitor engaged educated person to accompany the guest. It is not necessary they should be on gurudwara's pay roll. These people can be volunteers. Many would be ready to offer their services free.
In our wahiguruji house, everyone should be treated equal. She is humble, but the fuddus , must be committee members shd just let her be. Take her time to walk and have her moment with wahiguruji.

There are reasons which some times are not demand of person visiting but needs of management. like make sure that person understands maryada as if celebrity do mistake it is amplified 1000 times more than sangat.
