It's not about power but newer technology and better efficiency. We already had 5500HP diesel locomotive though only few were made and are operating currently.
You are lucky to be able to catch this. There won't be any lcoo come out of us factories headed to india for next 50-60yrs. 800 of these wdg4g and 200 of wdg6g are to be made . Nearly all of them will be now assembled in India from 2019.
1:27 these engines deserve a horn like the one on the CSX engine pulling them! 3:44 the English font they used looks weird and too condensed! 8:22 so they are making a signle cab version of this engine!
1. You didn't hear the Horn of the new Locomotive so you can't judge them. 2. The font used there is the official font used by Indian Railways. 3. The Locomotive shown at last does not belong to Indian Railways. I hope these facts helps you😊
@@jeno5591 Please refrain from giving wrong information. There is no such thing as the official font of Indian Railways. Just look at the liveries of the huge variety of locos we have and tell me if I'm wrong. Secondly, the locomotive in the end BELONGS to Indian Railways. In fact, it is a WDG-6G class locomotive.
Not a single one is on track doing commercial run here on IR. Wonder what they are up to! The 6000 too won't go down well with the enthusiasts here, it seems. Anyway, thanks a lot for all the exclusives, Stephan. God bless!
Sreekumar Prabhakaran u cant electrify all the route like western part where double stack container is used and it will be benificial on this .have u heard of dry ports and any ports cant be electrified
@@stephankoenig5481 its more than just that, the EMD's were being built in India also, and very few complaints about the hundreds of them they have.those EMD's showed IR that a very reliable locomotive was possible to be built in India and maintained in their own facilities. what they had before EMD showed up was not exactly reliable and dependable from day to day.
That ES58ACmi (or is it ES58ACi?) looks lopsided. The cab side looks lighter ...the other end the opposite. We have double cab DP4D here; redesigned EMD GT46MAC. They have a different asymmetry - the cabs on either end are as similar to each other as you and I.
Since India is growing it's business route separately by developing dfc that's why we need more and more powerful engines...great initiative 😍🙏🏻👍🙏🏻

I was wondering what was happening with them over there. Thanks and God bless you too!
They are under test RDSO .and i think it will be use by dfc only .
Well, that's a news! Until few months ago, they were all hell bent on electrifying the DFC!
Sreekumar Prabhakaran u cant electrify all the route like western part where double stack container is used and it will be benificial on this .have u heard of dry ports and any ports cant be electrified
How recent is this info about not electrifying the DFC?
Nice video I have already subscribed ...
Beautiful
Woooooooow... Modern class
Very nice video
When will the 6000hp version be ready to be shipped??
If all goes well by the end of summer.
the IR 6000 must be for freight, with 1 cab on it. the IR 49000 series must be passenger, with 2 cabs on it.
Actually, both are for freight duty.
Great!!!
Why such a low top speed for these GE's 🤭🤭
Good American economy has India support keep chugging along and viceversa
Wdg 6g 58acmi locomotive
How will they ship the kits
They already started to. I saw completed frames leaving in late May.
They are being trucked to port and shipped by ocean ship
Railfan Rohan broo tm kb post krogee???

India is importing engine from usa???
Yes. The prototypes are from America, and the full production version is from India.
anyone know what happened to the EMD-IR relationship-with hundreds of EMD's, why go with GE????
A better designed product and as of now they will be built and maintained in India

But still that livery isnt attractive...why not a saffron green livery...?
Many are full green. Color depends on type of loco.
Saffron green? Ewww, gtfo religious extremist.
Honestly, The color scheme is not upto mark. why did they choose this color scheme.
my 2 cents--- its their culture.
bcoz they can
Indian railways colour scheme is shitty asf
Manufactured by GE
So all these engines are not in make in India project.
all our money is gone to us.
