I spent years doing a complete every last nut and bolt restoration of a Series 4 Elan, so I know how much work this was for you. I now have a Series 2 Elise that is like new, but can't wait until the S1 Elise is legal to import to the USA, as they have to be 25 years old minimum. Very nice looking car you have there and I know that you are very proud of it.
wow 160 👍, I had S2 with hard top, and I was driving like this all the time,.. On S1 i decided not to buy it 😃 I love to drive with the wind in my hair 🤣
@@veharborut7965 Thanks for your answer! would you mind telling me the exact OBD scanner model and app you used? Mine didn't work on my Elise (it's a very early S1 RHD model)
Thank you 😊, it was my long term project - 5 years, but I did’t count hours spent (I guess to many 🤣), I have stored all the invoices, but I didn’t sum up how much did it cost me. I did it with love ❤️
WOW. won't you be worries driving it now that it's show room perfect? I would be, that's why i like mine tidy, but not too perfect. i'd end up scared to get it dirty.
How long did this take you (hours of work)? Do you know how much all the parts ended up costing? Did you require any special tools? Thank you for this video. It was excellent.
Thank you! I don't really know, I didn't record how many hours I spent with my Elise, it was like a journey, I learned a lot of new things. I have never counted how much did all the parts cost,.. It's easy to work on, though some special tools are needed.
Was glad you included some of that engine sound; fantastic work!
Glad you liked it!
Excellent work 👍
Fab job! Virtually a new car.
thank you😊, better than new
Bravo Borut 👌

This is actually a beter Elise, than it was more than 20 years ago.
Amazing, congratulations
@@davidmerllie5826 Thank you 😊

Excellent... just putting my '98 back together too. Have fun in your S1, looks lovely after all your hard work, congrats
Thank you, I love it. Driving feeling in S1 is awesome!
The Expert!
Thank you 😉
Very nice! The 5 years restoration was a bold move, but I believe it will pay off for the five years of not enjoying the car. Happy driving!
Thank you ☺️, It was worth waiting, ride is just perfect!
I Love people with your constance and passion💪.
Absolutely spectacular job🏆
Thank you very much :)
Incredible work! Congratulations
Thank you 😊
Hi Just seen your build.. You did a fantastic job, how did you clean the Aluminium Chassis so well ?
Hi, thnx, I used oxalic acid and magic spunge for cleaning. For protection after I used ACF-50
@@veharborut7965 Thanks for the info really appreciate it ... I'm doing the same to my S1 111s ... Brilliant cars 🙂
This is amazing. An Elise is my absolute dream car. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I ❤️ my Elise!
Incredible work, only thing that I would've done different: don't use EBC green stuff brake pads, instead use Brembo HP2000.
Thank you, you are right about brake pads,... - I drive this car to gentle (pussy ride), so the cheapest brake pads would be also OK :)
Wow, very impressive!
thank you Toto
Enjoy! I have an S1 160 in that colour with the blue soft top - the touring hard top is well worth having as well

So do I but I’ve been out in mine this winter in-7 and it’s been toasty with the hard top!
@@paullondon5332 That makes sense 😉, hats off if you drive this machine every day 👍
Keep mine jub model white red and gold number 48 dry an warm in wintertime. Just waiting for spring
I understand you perfectly, this cars just must have long sleep in the winter time :)
Nice job, better than new. Enjoy 😉
Thnx, It‘s really nice to drive 🥰
Amazing! Wish I had the time to do that for my little Elise. But we’re having too much fun driving!
Thanx, I was lucky to have Europa S in a garage for some time. Elise is so nice to drive now ☺️
That looks amazing, that’s the best colour too !
Thnx, I like it to 😍
NOICE!
thnx
Good original restoration, you should get many happy years from that.
Thnx, It’s a nice car to drive ❤️
Stunning!
Thanx 😊
Great job what did use on steering wheel centre pad ?
Thnx, I used FullDip liquid vinyl - Nardo Grey
Lovely refurbishment enjoy 😊
Thnx, I love Elise ❤️ 😁
Great Job !! How did you do to access the ECU parameters at 7.29 in your video ? I thought the lotus OBD system was needed for S1 Elise ?
Thnx 😀, I used universal OBD scanner (Elise S1 ECU is a Rover one), you plug it in rear L side in the laguage compartment.
@@veharborut7965 Thanks for your answer! would you mind telling me the exact OBD scanner model and app you used? Mine didn't work on my Elise (it's a very early S1 RHD model)
@@didjohann Just the OBD Plug is the same, but wiring is different...you have to use MEMS Diag... memsdiag.blogspot.com/
Awesome!
Have you made templates from the Seats?
My Elise is the same color ;-)
Leather was done by specalist, and I don’t realy know how (they look excellent), he had seats in his workshop for almost two years 🤣
Inspiring! How much did it cost in terms of both money and time to do the rebuild?
