In a few words, all your songs deserve to have a second part, because almost all of your songs are named simply because they are beautiful pieces and like all of them, there is one that I want to highlight for a second part because it is one of the best electro-melodies I have heard in the life .. Again I congratulate you Mr. Tobu, as with your first candyland, this is also a beauty. This outshines the first version in some ways. However, it is lacking in some aspects. (Hopes that tobu reads this) Let us first talk about the good things about this song. 1. Use of vocal chops: This is a big one. Vocal chops add a large amount of depth to the piece, as shown at 0:23, when the "hey" is, essentially used as a kickdrum, but with more depth. That was an masterfully crafted vocal chop, with the perfect amount of reverb. Another effective vocal chop is that used in 1:38, which is used to assert a main melody. In that, it functions similar to that of most other synth leads. However, again, the vocal chops are extremely professional. 2. Background: The guitar ostinato in the beginning sets up the feel for the entire track with its timbre and such. The tones that were emphasized make the beginning feel warm and peaceful, especially after 0:07. Also, notice the synth ostinato occurring at the same time. The ostinato facilitates the transitions in that part. Also, in the beginning minute or so, the main melody is played in the background with marimba, gradually paving the way for the drop. 3. Transitions: Notice that this is in both the first section and the second section. This is because many of the transitions are good, however, some can use work. My favorite transition is that between 0:05 and 0:22, which builds up to the part which starts stating the main melody. This part effectively transitions, due to the automation, and bringing in the ending almost seamlessly. Another good transition is 0:42 to 1:08, in which the melody that is hiding beforehand becomes more dominant, some harmonies appear, and drums/snare-roll occurs, leading into the drop. This transition is extremely effective. I would also like to point out the transition at 1:36, in which the the blank spot facilitates a change. The transition from 1:52 to the second drop is quite good. However, the melody appears that it should be lengthened to its whole, as it is the same melody in one of your own songs, instead of just jumping into the drop midway. Lengthening this transition would make the song much more pleasant. The second half also contains repeats of the several good transitions I mentioned earlier. 4. Similarity to candyland. The synth ostinato in the beginning appears to share many similarities to that of Candyland in the beginning of Candyland. Also, in the transition at 1:52, there is a melody found in one of the transitions of candyland. There are other similarities... I don't want to spoil them all in this comment because I want people to have fun finding them. :D Now to talk about the stuff which can use some work. 1. Rhythm: The lack of complex rhythm is especially evident at the drop, in which, the only visible rhythm is that of the main drum. Polyrhythms, like that of the first candyland would make the drop far more pleasant and memorable, as they can further impact the rhythm. I understand that the barely-audible bass is showing this rhythm. However, if you would like to make the drop more pleasant, you should emphasize that bass, as the drop could use more complex rhythm and more base. 2. Transitions: One example of a transition which needs some work is that at 0:37. This transition is too quick, in the sense that it appears to jump from the earlier rhythm to the much more soft guitar transitioning to the drop. In my opinion, you should have added more wait there. It is the same case with the similar transition in the second half, which is located at 2:15 The takeaway: This is a beautiful and masterfully crafted song which deserves its place next to the original candyland. However, there is still some room for improvement. (not that I can make a song as good as this tho) (please like... this took an hour of my time, and I want to make tobu see this)
The transition at 0:37 works really well. Most Electronic compositions follow this format to release most energy for the buildup to add more tension. But yes, the rhythm needs to be more distinct :)
1:38 to 1:53 brought joy and tears to my eyes because of the same melody used in the original candy land you can hear it in between 30-45 seconds into the original candy land Tobu made my childhood 🩵

I remember listening to the first candyland in my grade 6 days, now im in senior high finally listening to its part 2, 5 years of listening to his music makes my childhood memories flashes back to me.

Tbh I was expecting part 2 to be worse or at least not as good as the original. I wanted to keep my expectations low for the release. After all, the sequel is almost always the weakest of a franchise. Somehow I actually think I like this better than the original and it brightened my day. I remember listening to the first candyland in my grade 6 days, now im in senior high finally listening to its part 2, 5 years of listening to his music makes my childhood memories flashes back to me.
why am i having a feeling this is even better than the last one, part 1 was the first royalty free type of music i listened and it was the first i favoured and then some point in 2019-2021 i sorta lost my interest to that music, its lucky that rewinding was always in my head because now i was able to see the pt2 of my first favoured royalty free music i love you tobu, your musics will always be in my heart

Tbh I was expecting part 2 to be worse or at least not as good as the original. I wanted to keep my expectations low for the release. After all, the sequel is almost always the weakest of a franchise. Somehow I actually think I like this better than the original and it brightened my day. Just know that there's an amazing and supportive community that appreciates your music no matter how often you decide to work on, or upload music. Keep up the great work Tobu and make sure to satisfy your sweet this holiday season! Thank you so much!
